Commanders are dropping like flies this year
tac airlifter replied to MDDieselPilot's topic in General Discussion
Let’s examine the clues: - posts about his own mentorship prowess - posts his own strats - works at a non-flying training wing & is clearly better than everyone else - dumb enough to think changing a screen name but keeping same life details & writing style will fool us all. I think you’ve cracked this case. -
Commanders are dropping like flies this year

At first I assumed you posted this in the wrong thread. But he was a commander, and he did drop like a fly this year, so well played. -
Glad to hear that. Enjoy it, and congrats!

How do you feel about the Clinton campaign paying a foreign national for a fake dossier filled with garbage hearsay to frame a president and subvert the democratic process? Or Obama asking for favors from Russian diplomats because he’ll have “more flexibility after then next election?” these are rhetorical questions. The broader point I’m trying to make is that there’s a lot of “allegedly” in your post but the actual transcript has been released and I don’t read it as quid pro quo. Yet we know these other violations were real, not alleged. So there’s an element of political hypocrisy undermining the narrative against our president, and invalidating the current complaint in the eyes of many people. Were in a tough spot as a nation.

We’ll see what happens, but I think I’m enjoying your delicious scotch in 14 months. I plan to drink it from a brown beret.

Saddle up for Syria? Or Op Deny Christmas '13
tac airlifter replied to brickhistory's topic in General Discussion
Drastic is an understatement. A Kurdish state in the current political climate is doomed to failure. They would be landlocked and surrounded by Turkey, Iran, Syria and Iraq now united as enemies because forming Kurdistan would require taking land from those four. Air bridge would be their only resupply, and that air bridge would require overflight from enemy countries with quality A2AD. Not a defensible geographic position. Complicating that picture, we are still NATO allies with Turkey. When the PKK commits another attack inside Turkey they could activate article 5 and require our assistance in “defense” against Kurdistan. It would be awkward. I like the Kurds. They gave somewhere around 10,000 lives in the fight against IS. Turkey was complicit with IS. They aren’t our friends. That said, we’re still in an alliance with Turkey. Right now we can provide covert assistance to the Pesh. If we support statehood, would we provide overt assistance for the Kurds against our NATO ally, thereby degrading the Alliance to the advantage of Russia? How would that play politically for POTUS? It’s an untenable situation with no good answer. I don’t want to abandon the Kurds but I also don’t want to fight a war against a NATO member for their independence. Scratch that, I’m game for fighting Turkey. But I’m finally mature enough to have SA on the reasons we won’t. -
Regarding bolded above... North DFAC at KAF has better than “decent food.” I’ll wager it’s the best chow hall in any AOR. They have 6 kinds of espresso. They have a dude who walks around handing out samples of grilled meat. They have a RipIt slurpy machine with 4 flavors. Don’t undersell it man! I’m not someone who likes KAF, but it’s a damn fine chow hall.

Yes, you are missing a bunch. -
That’s what we’re all asking each other since the 11 MDS series specifically allows you to fly without gloves worn.
-
When are you giving us an ETP so we can continue not wearing gloves?
-
That’s a bit harsh, although maybe I’m in the 90% and this is how I find out 😬

Thanks for posting. I’d never read that. Interestingly, according to that guidance the “1/xx shop chief” strat is valid, while the primary strat AFSOC uses appears invalid. We use a YG (year group) strat method and think it’s the bees knees, but other MAJCOMs apparently have no idea what it is. The whole system is so dumb.
-
Sorry bro, that’s unfortunate news.

So you guys don't plug in the puck, you just pair it? I don’t even know how it would plug into an iPad. We’ve been flying with squadron issued iPads and squadron ForeFlight accounts paired via Bluetooth to a Bad Elf puck since 2013. Works great.
-
My squadron issues Bad Elf pucks for this exact purpose. It’s a Bluetooth pairing. Just enable Bluetooth on your iPad and sync the device. I much prefer it to stratus.

Totally irrelevant if the SQ/CC is an evaluator. Stan/Eval is a commanders program. in your situation, I’m guessing the Q3 was for “airmanship” or some other catch all which is intentionally vague to allow the SQ/CC the discretion to Q3 as he sees fit (or is ordered to by his leadership). Fighting that is extremely unlikely.

that’s just awesome

I don’t think killing Iranians is an appropriate level of response for them shooting down a robot. One of the advantages of RPAs is we can lose a few. Had they killed aircrew, let’s start collecting scalps. This is a perfect time to respond with non kinetic cyber options. Or non lethal kinetic options if those can be identified.

Good advice, although a bit ironic given your various posts of the past few hours. -

Hosting someone to Q&A a thread is an interesting concept. We could do a reddit style AMA except over a few days so the responder has time to actually think about replies. Good idea! Unfortunately the rest of this post is less constructive. I gave you some feedback bro, take it or leave it. Cheers. -

If your first statement is true, feel free to leave. If the second is true, does your posting style help? This site is a great tool to mentor and learn from others. I’ve received more help here than I have via any AF sponsored mechanism. My unsolicited feedback: you are needlessly confrontational and a braggart. Present yourself differently and I’m sure you have constructive contributions to make. -
60 Minutes Segment on 2014 B-1 Friendly Fire in Afghanistan
tac airlifter replied to Danger41's topic in General Discussion
I didn’t know that B1s had deployed continuously to execute CAS missions since 2001. I thought there were years when they weren’t a player in the stack. I’ve only seen them on station a few times. Learn something new everyday. Regarding the OP, there are a surprising number of ground folks who think IR strobes can be seen by aircraft irrespective of frequency spectrum limitations. I think pre-deployment training isn’t as joint as it should be.
