  2. https://www.usnews.com/news/world/articles/2024-11-13/exclusive-trumps-team-drawing-up-list-of-pentagon-officers-to-fire-sources-say Job openings forthcoming for some of you!
  3. She had a change in heart during her education period. It happens. Cut bait and call it a day, you whiners. We waste FAR more money as a country on FAR more pits. Besides, would you want her on your wing? NO, OF COURSE NOT! Just let her go and thank her for her service. Next!
  4. Conley is an absolute stud. I hope he jumps from this job to next COMAMC in three years (spent time as AMC/A5 and is well-respected in the mobility community).
  5. 3 words: SERVICE BEFORE SELF.
  6. Don’t listen to these people telling you to jump straight to the airlines. Get either degree and serve in any officer capacity in our military. It’s an honorable way of life.
  7. Now we start with racist comments. Lovely. Diversity is the way of the future, you pansy. You people need to get on-board with the new Air Force, or get flippin’ lost now.
  8. You people should really do some historical research on this topic, just on this site. Same boring griping for a couple of generations now. The creative solution is to produce more pilots. Congress will not help with retention bonuses, so the AF has given up. The ramp to 1500 pilots per year IS the target. Younger squadrons IS the acceptable risk. Keep calling me a troll, but this is the model going forward. Embrace it and start working with those young pilots to get them up-to-speed faster. Do something productive in your unit instead of complaining on a website. The lack of “Service Berfore Self” on this website still floors me. If I ever find one of you in real life under one of my commands…
  9. Risk to fill squadrons with nothing but Lieutenants and Captains is acceptable. Enough FGOs will stick around to adequately fill the commander positions. The research is conclusive. People on this forum don’t want to hear that, but not wanting to hear something doesn’t mean it’s not true. The Pentagon is 100% focused on production ramp to 1500.
  10. We do not need to retain pilots. We need to produce pilots. 1500 per year. This is the real conundrum dominating conversation here in the Pentagon- how we ramp to 1500.
  11. What in heaven’s name are you talking about?
  12. Goodness, you guys would complain about winning $1,000,000 in Powerball because it wasn’t the grand prize. These are options, people! Get a grip!
  13. I just took a high-level briefing on this- Take rates are WAY up this year compared to last. The percentages are actually pretty staggering. We are well on our way to solving this crisis.
  14. We are dumping everything feasible to the side to modernize our fleet. Trimming “anywhere and everywhere” is the mantra here at the PP. Retirees overseas know the drill. Their choice to live where they live. We need to trim the fat faster. Certainly would be easier if we had term limits and we could close excess bases here in the States, but Congress won’t allow it. So we trim the fat.
  15. Interesting how my recent comments seems to bother some on this site. The point is this: if you’re cognizant enough to put together complaint after complaint in the English language on a website, man up and do something about it! This is the greatest country in the world, despite our flaws, and to have former military leaders/wannabes in this forum whining for whining’s sake is an absolute shame. Get out there and make a difference while you still have breath, for Pete’s sake! And yes, I have more Air Medals than all other personal decorations combined over a very long career, so don’t give me the pity-party “Chang, you just don’t understand my pain.” Be a man.
  16. Please. Your ignorance about what goes into being at this level is abhorrent.
  17. I sure hope so. I deserve the extra money that another star would provide. I will say this: for all of you complainers out there: seriously? You are complaining Uncle Sam took away your pittance $50K/yr to sign your life away for the next 12 years? Get over yourselves you premadonna punks! Get out of my Air Force and go make your money elsewhere. We don’t need you, and we don’t want you. But please, for the love of Pete, stop complaining about missing out on table scraps. It’s so unbecoming of an officer.
  18. Reading through this thread, there seems to be a lot of wing commander hate over time. Certainly there are some good ones out there now.
  19. It’s time for the Air Force to cut loose any ideas of retention, drop the bonus to $0, and focus on growing our way forward. You only need one-two gray beards at the top to run a flying squadron. The rest can be O-3 and below. Higher risk? Sure, a little. Push people through UPT in 6-months, FTUs in 2 months, double the output, and GROW our AF out of the pilot shortage. Retention is a useless fight at this point. Drop the bonus to $0. We will be just fine.
  20. This is a necessary money move. Retirees can deal with it instead of acting like spoiled brats.
  21. Look for ground jobs that suit your fancy (Exec, CAG, DS) and volunteer like crazy for everything. That will create a lasting career. Trust me, you will thank me later.
  22. You’d be hard-pressed to find a member of the C-130J community who doesn’t like the mission.
  23. Maybe some of the crusty keyboard “warriors” in this community should put their money where their mouths are and run for Congress instead of typing the same drivel every week on this site.
