Exactly; It’s an Army Uniform that the DoD is adopting to save money for deployed Ops. If we all willing stop wearing our Flight Suits to work because there is a “new shiny” option available, it’s our own fault when they get replaced. As Charleton Heston said “From my cold dead hands”!
-
Just because we’re authorized to wear them tomorrow, unless your leadership is saying you have to, just continue with your bag. Personally I’ll wear mine as long as I can, I could care less what I can wear.

Don’t know how many on this forum knew Reagan Whitlow, but he died in a private plane crash tonight, the C-130 community lost a fantastic pilot and better person. Here’s a toast... https://www.kark.com/news/local-news/update-pilot-killed-in-plane-crash-was-retired-lt-colonel-in-air-force/1478582383

It will be a sad day if we aren’t allowed to wear flight suits; and I get all the “more comfortable” talk. But I’m an Air Force aviator, I didn’t join the Army. I want my green pajamas!

Squadron Officer School Credit for ERAU?
jrizzell replied to xcraftllc's topic in General Discussion
Don't know about SOS, I received credits for ACSC. Pleasr don't let anyone dissuade you from pursuing a Masters, it's your own choice. Just because the Air Force policy is masking AAD today; It can absolutely change when someone else takes over. Enjoy the BlackBoard ;) -
Commanders are dropping like flies this year
jrizzell replied to MDDieselPilot's topic in General Discussion
I know there will be the inevitable “he said, she said” aspect of this. Regardless, is there any reason we should be trying to excuse a married O-6 Commander having any type of physical relationship with a SrA... -
Mandatory OCP wear date is 2021 for all USAF personnel...That’s plenty of time for the Army to come up with a new uniform that’s differs from what we’ll be forced to wear.

That’s a decent push line, the “if I had one more” statement is normally a positive indicator to the board

If your retiring in two years then you’re in different place than younger FGO’s. Enjoy Snacko, the ole’ 10-2 workday with two days a month restocking your goods, enjoy [emoji106]

With the 100% promotion rate to Maj, I envision a log jam for future O-5 boards. There will have to be discriminators, hello Masters and PME becoming very important again. ACSC sucks, but for the vast majority of LAF Officers, not completing it removes you from being competitive. There’s always the unicorns that make it without completing it...but safer to hedge your bets.

The security camera footage is horrific to see. Prayers and condolences to those here that are friends and/or work with that unit. [emoji481][emoji481][emoji481]

Just wanted to pass along to the group my great experience with NKTB. Amy Stuhr Paterson was my loan officer, she was prompt and extremely easy to work with. Got a great rate, definitely recommend. Made buying home prior to my next PCS location easy.

Goldfein advocating FAA 1500 hour rule change???
jrizzell replied to 189Herk's topic in General Discussion
Friend of a friend, who is in DC as AF Fellow attended the meeting between USAF and Airlines. His words "it was a horse abortion"; the USAF viewpoint was not looked upon with any type of sympathy. The overall gist was, we are commercial business who's goal is to make $ for our stockholders and company. I guess United was the most vocal in their displeasure. Statements like "you have mismanaged your pilots for over a decade". So I don't think it went like leadership was hoping...- 629 replies

All I can speak to is my experience, when I was offered continuation, that was it. I had no choice between that or TERA. You could be correct; however it seems like the AF essentially tells you what your option is. You can take it or leave without anything.
-
Gents, Update, I shit you not. I guess at the HAF whomever was in charge of creating the involuntarily separated notification memos went through the promotion spreadsheet and created them for anyone whom was passed over 1APZ. Our CC called yesterday and did some digging and helped discover the complete breakdown in process. They should be getting their continuation letter shortly...Unbelievable
-
Neither of these guys asked for that. They were both plannning on next assignments, and assumed that continuation would be offered. These were not shitbags either, both checked all boxes and are working staff jobs.
-
Two pilots at my location; both 1APZ, neither promoted are both being involuntarily separated...Makes sense seeing as how we have a pilot shortage
-
Chicken you could be correct. However my continuation was only offered until 20 years, so I don't know exactly how it works to 24 years. And it was the "will be continued to 24 years" statement that caught my attention.
-
From above: "each eligible LAF major, within a critical skill listed above, selected for continuation will be continued until they reach 24 years of Total Active Federal Commissioned Service (TAFCS)." If you accept continuation and are in "Critical Skill", you'll get to stay an extra 4 years past 20...Plan accordingly gents

In the summer of 2004 we could still wear civilian clothes, the mandatory PT gear didn't start until I think 2006 timeframe. My 2005 tour was great, no Chiefings and ladies in Juicy sweat suits
-
When I received my initial Non-Select counseling, that was how it was explained to me as well. Using 30 Nov 2015 as the mandatory separation date; my TAFMSD put me within 4 years of retirement. AFPC said that meeting the four year "window" would be the pass to continuation.
-
12M twice passed over guy. Was continued to 20; for me and my situation this was what I was hoping for. Other co-workers 11M were given TERA.
-
For those that were interested and potentially awaiting news, I received the 8 Sep Special Selection Board non-promotion email from AFPC today...bummer dude!! Hopefully someone else got a better Christmas surprise.

FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)
jrizzell replied to AOF_ATC's topic in General Discussion
Don't know if I would qualify FY14 program as an organized implementation plan. Feels like an entire O-line pushed from behind goal line TD. Sure we meet the goal, but the process was unnecessarily chaotic. I think it highlights just how a reactionary organization AF is. Two years from now, we'll be suddenly "undermanned"....
