  1. was your year group/afsc still showing an overage when they updated the matrix last week? wondering if I can apply the for FM FY14 1-1 when they just changed my yr group to red
  2. 130 squadrons closing are in a similar boat. guys show up 6 weeks out of ftu and already have an RPA gig. went from 20 CPs to 4 in less than 3 months
  3. submitting the the ticket tomorrow!
  4. but you said you had a position number
  5. hondo, tunes, where you guys headed?
  6. That's why I gave you that one! And so I could look at whatever gay porn you sign me up for at work! ;) "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire"
  7. what is not understandable is the fact that guys on here are saying people that need waivers have been approved. that negates everything he and Cox just said, if they are waiting then wait for everyone. but the fact that they already approved some, sorry but it is time to shit or get off the pot. they keep trying to buy more time and it is really starting to affect individuals' future plans, big time!
  8. you got an approval in 2 weeks???? HOT DAMN!! that is the fastest PC approval I have ever heard, granted they already had all the paperwork when you did it and it was already reviewed probably.
  9. "Final batch processing will happen once the program closes out (after 1 May), your application will be on hold until then. This is due to SAF just recently provided AFPC the expanded ADSC waiver authority which now allows us to process members with the ADSC for UPT. We are allowing time for others to apply before doing another round of batch processing for final decisions to be fair since the expanded authority was just released. //SIGNED// Name removed My statement/question is this. We, or at least I, applied under the assumption they were going to do 30 day batches starting after the initial window opened...BACK IN FEB!!!!! They didnt wait for others to apply until that initial window closed so why are they now waiting another month to approve these???? They werent planning on doing it in the beginning, so why now? Are they saying everyone who applied that doesnt require a waiver are more qualified to receive VSP over someone who doesnt require a waiver? what about three people who all have one yr ADSCs for different reasons left, who wins in that tie? They need to publish ADSC priorities if that is the case so they are operating under standard conditions. Right now it seems like its at the whim of the GS-7. I would also like to know why the C-17 individual whose pilot training commitment was waived was approved before the rest of us then. This require an answer right now, not May 1, because by then it will be too late if they already hit their numbers. Blow up this guy's inbox with tough questions because i dont think they are following linear/static guidance and its creating turmoil in the masses.
  10. no, only Gulfstreams
  11. correct, 02 11Ms it was 40 something i believe
  12. A c-130 IP in the CTS at LRF just got approved as well as a cheyenne guy dont know how much commitment was left at cheyenne, but none left at LRF. My chances are getting slimmer everyday, they are going to hit the 40 before they get to us that need waivers! F-in crossflow
  13. Time for a reunion tour!! "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire"
  14. see this on the VSP thread? "For those trying to PC, my buddy at MacDill flying BBJs just had his approved on the 8th. Said the SMSgt at the AFPC PC office told him that they are set up to process 150 PC apps per year, and they've had 700 since Jan and avg 60 more every week. Also said the SECAF sits down every day and cranks thru 8-10 apps per day for waivers/approvals at her level. Take that for what it's worth. " Are people applying without even having a unit to go to? they really need to pull our personelists from AFG and start working on our own shit back home
  15. wow, congrats to all the dudes with VSP approvals, glad to hear it worked out and on to bigger and better things. Keep us in mind when we need an airline gig! How come Dos Gringos hasnt made a song about this circus act yet?
  16. So can I adjust my requested DOS? If they notify me in mid may when I was expecting a notification no later than two months after I applied I won't have time to burn all my leave, even after I sell back 60!!!!! The day I get notified I will literally walk out the door on terminal. They aren't screwing us, they are screwing our commanders who I feel I owe some bit of work ethic to and feel the need to close all my loose ends before I depart. "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire"
  17. FWIW i was tracking my buddies PC process just recently to see how fast, or slow, it went. he said from the day he submitted it was 7 weeks to approval which was last week, 11M and cut 4-6 months off his ADSC Bama, where you headed?
  18. where is everyone getting hired that recently got PC approval (and can you state how much of your ADSC was waived)? just curious what they are waiving ADSCs for because they say 135 and 130 reserve units are significantly undermanned so curious if guys are getting hired into those units or different airframes. thanks and congrats on making the escape
  19. Why in gods name are they dropping assignments for a RNLTD in ...Jan 15???? Unless you have 4-5month training somewhere. Are they playing poker with our lives? Wait, don't answer that, we already know the answer. "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire"
  20. Reminds me of a fighter Sq/cc who cancelled lines so his guys could to finance between 9-11&1-3 with their 2 hr lunch break. At the EOM the Wg/cc asked why he only flew 50% of his flying hrs. Needless to say, finance started working longer hrs. But the days of that happening are over, more like ops bends over for all the other agencies. God forbid the MSG would....SUPPORT the mission. "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire"
  21. like I said, them coming in on the weekend is pointless when all they are going to do is chase everyones tail in the office. They first need to really figure out what the end state is and operate under solid guidance. Seems like they are just shotgunning it so why have someone pissed off having to come in on the weekend to send out the cancellation of retirement orders? So please tell me how them coming in on the weekend is going to make this nightmare go away? the scars are too deep. And yes, I agree altus (I am horrible at analogies) I do not think this situation is anywhere near working an OPR or dec, was just trying to say staff work in general is constant with no end in sight which kind of feels like this process is. 17D, I didnt say AFPC did their research, thats why I stated this is where we are right now. Its like the FAIP class that got screwed out of a bunch of fighters because the functional forgot to give bombers to the class prior, so his F-up screwed the next class. I am more fed up of people operating on WOM rather than looking stuff up themselves and educating themselves. It's a shame we have to operate on WOM for the FM programs because thats all thats out there. ADSCs are AFPCs to waive, not ours. Just because they are waiving them to meet their end strength goals doesnt diminish the importance of the 10 yr someone signed up for. So if they waive a commitment of 10 down to 6, is it ok for a guy entering UPT to barter his ADSC down to a 6? I would say no.
  22. I'm going to be a little devil's advocate here for a bit, if you dont like it, dont read it. Did you work over the weekend? I am sure 90% of you didnt so I dont understand everyone's complaint about them taking the weekend off, there is ALWAYS going to be work to do, I always tell the execs that, OPRs will be there tomorrow, as well as 8,000 FM applications. Coming in over the weekend isnt going to make the dent, AFPC coming up with solidified guidance on how to implement them is ---- Just because you didnt do your research or werent able to predict the future is no reason to jump on the AF hating bandwagon. Thats what got us into this personnel issue in the first place. I had a student who dropped RPAs at UPT and stormed out of the room throwing his beer and sat in the parking lot crying about it and I am sure there were more stories like that. Where does it say that if you get a pilot slot the AF is required to give you a cockpit? If you want guaranteed stick time go get hired by a guard unit that will have a non-RPA mission for the next 5 yrs (hint, its not going to be in a fighter). I wasnt smart enough to do that and am kicking myself in the ass when I feel I cant drink the cool aid anymore, but its not the AFs fault, I made that (uninformed) decision. You don't think a free college education and pilot training in the world's greatest AF is worth working for big blue for 10 yrs? Do you know how long pilots at regional airlines sit in the right seat and put the gear up and down, and get paid less than your boom operator that makes you coffee and brings you your box lunch if you are nice enough to them? With AF wings and enough time you can walk right out of the Sq the day you separate and into an airline (granted they have to be hiring) making decent coin. I am tired of everyone saying I cant take it anymore, I want out, its not what I thought it was going to be, they lied to me, its not fair. GROW UP. Was the first day of summer camp what you thought it was going to be when you were crying for your mommy? Was college what you thought it was going to be when you failed you first test? Was ROTC/UPT/SOS/your next Sq Commander what you thought it was going to be? NO!!!!!! When you signed that ADSC you knew what the ramifications were, and if you didnt then I am sorry that you are stuck in a job you hate that hasnt let you travel to at least some other part of the country or world and given you skills that you can't pay to be taught to you.
  23. The new term is F!....IGMO Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  24. click on voluntary separation and your app is in there. the 2001 guy, how are you applying for TERA? I thought you had to have 15 yrs? It seems like most of the guys getting Officer approved VSPs are fairly young right at the 6 yr mark. Cheapest bunch to reduce the force. Come, get to the 2002 year group already. Good thing we arent at war or anything, god forbid they would have to make timely decisions. These programs were released what, back in like Nov/Dec? we are going on almost 6 months of them failing at their job. Half a year wasted on AFPC trying to figure out this mess, then when you think they do, any small amount of credibility and confidence they have regained in the past week or so has immediately been wiped clean by revoking previous TERA approvals. WOW, amazing. 9 commanders fired over the ICBM stuff, but I am sure there will be some amazing PCS medals given out in San Antonio after all this.
