1st female Air Force combat vet in run for congress
Shortbus replied to F-15E WSO's topic in Squadron Bar
I actually laughed out loud at the last 6-9 posts. Thanks, I needed that. -
At a desk. 6-9 feet from a GO. In a camp full of other GOs. FML.

You're right, a lot of them are not the bad guys. The problem is you just never know if the dude sitting next to you is a good guy or a bad f##### just waiting for his opportunity.

Nope, it sure doesn't and I completely agree irt one shot versus none. I may or may not follow the rules.. The problem is everywhere you go there's a f-ing clearing barrel and the requirement to clear your weapon. And yeah, the justification/excuse for no loaded weapons is the "risk" of accidental/negligent discharges.. Which I think is completely retarded, if anything requiring that everyone clears their weapon every place you go increases the chance of ADs. I generally notch the clearing barrels, the risk I have is if I end up going to chow with the boss and I have a round pop out.. The inmates are running the asylum.

Yeah, it probably wouldn't have made a difference in this specific instance, however most of the Green on Blue/ active shooter incidents that have occurred here could, IMO, have been avoided or significantly mitigated by some or all the good guys having weapons that were actually ready to be employed.. rather than having to draw, get out a magazine, insert magazine, chamber a round, aim, and fire.. while taking fire at close range.. the security situation here is asinine. yeah, I was down there a few weeks ago.. it's a way different mind set in Kabul, especially at ISAF.. too many generals worried about CYA...

I don't really give a crap if they apologize or not. It would be meaningless to the wife and two young daughters of the AF Lt Col and the family of the Army Major. That thousands of these people are violently demonstrating because of a perceived "lack of respect" is indicative of gang/thug mentality borne of ignorance and lack of education - the fixes to which are being thwarted at every turn by those we are trying to help. That after their "holy day" on Friday they are motivated to hundreds of acts of violence by thousands of individuals belies this "religion of peace". That our PC society, leaders, and politicians aquiesces and attempts to appease this crap is beyond the pale. The fact I'm sitting 2km from where it happened and still can't put a magazine in my M9, much less a round in the chamber infuriates me... oh, I might have an accidental discharge is the BS rationalization. Sorry, this is a bit of a rant, but I am pissed. In many ways I had a front row seat, and even a degree of participation in yesterday's events. I am extremely angry that two American families have lost a husband, father, and son in this manner. rant off...for now..

A 130+ dB alarm is louder than an unloaded M9.

"Afghan National Army Gen. Sher Mohammed Karimi, who traveled to the base with Allen, told the U.S. troops that their sacrifice is not wasted. Karimi said the Americans and Afghans together are “fighting an enemy of humanity.” Uh huh. Enemy of humanity I buy, the Afghans fighting them not so much..

As much as I hate to say this, perception is reality anymore. Hence all the CYA, PC BS we see everyday. Usually via CBT or ppt. (and now fake preggo bellies apparently).

Yeah, plus having seen the Coalition at work (sort of) first hand the past month or so - it's a clown act..

Cool, thanks for the info. The $700 isn't an issue, I'd rather have the greater piece of mind from having a professional do the paperwork. If my AGR job comes through then I'll be able to root myself in a great NFA-friendly state.. Just looking for a simpler way of purchasing. I'm downrange at the moment, but I'm going to start looking into this when I have time -- hopefully to pull the trigger (sts) when I get home.. I'm sure I'll have more questions as I progress.

I might be interested if this were possible..

Well, if it's not official it can come down just as easily as it went up (sts)...

I can't stop watching this. Oh, and the poster's screen name is "sexdwarf"...I'm guessing there's some irony there, but figured I point it out since this is my 69th post.

I'm thinking about jumping into NFA toys, mostly because I want an SBR. It pisses me off that a mere 1.5" makes that big of a difference (sts).. Anyway, started looking into going the trust route and would appreciate any hints/tips/gotchas/etc. For example, did you go through a lawyer or DIY? Issues with PCSing? From what I've read it somewhat simplifies the purchase process but doesn't really speed up the ATF piece? Break -- Anyone have any experience with LWRCI's M6A2s? Fondled one just before heading downrange and think it might be something to spend a little tax free on..
