  2. Ah, meh.
  3. Soooo, you hate... yourself?
  4. "ram-mount". Just doesn't sound right.
  5. Oh, I wasn't criticizing your post - mostly piling on... And, speaking of "corporate AF", it seems most "support" functions are populated largely by civilians these days - many of whom don't give a crap.. For example, our LRS has civilian flight chiefs and it shows based on the condition of some deployment equipment I was recently issued and promptly rejected. Btw, I realize this is a generalization, so just saying'..
  6. or to sell to all your "friends". Has anyone heard/know if this is in affect anywhere else in the region or is it just the deid?
  7. I have several friends whose teenagers know better than this.
  8. You can't possibly buy enough booze with that to ease the pain..
  9. Sometimes valid post super drink off...
  10. This is a failure of leadership, my last assignment was at an RTU and DO and/or CC would start killing Flt/CCs and the ADOs if they let a class post something like that as a grad picture (even in the bar). There's funny and pushing the limits, and then there's just being classless and offensive.
  11. Yup, unfortunately this is nothing new. On a few occasions during my career I've had friends met at the jet by lawyers after combat sorties - nothing ever came of it except fostering second-guessing on future missions. I guess someone has to cover their ass.
  12. Get used to it.
  13. Probably gave the pawn shop some TIB tickets. Wait, never mind.
  14. I got one made by Lim this past April, apparently he's been using a thinner leather - it's especially noticeable on the sleeves. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with it. 2 on the price, $200 something..
  15. Oh, c'mon - it was a little funny..
  16. Yeah, .ppt would be so much better..
  17. Yes, it was a response intended for a douche.
  18. Hey, thanks for the same courtesy, benefit of the doubt that is. FYI, I did - first I asked him if he was sure it was the USS Oklahoma, then I asked him what kind of ship it was and he said battleship, then I asked him if it were possible that he might be mistaken about the name. He was positive he was on the USS Oklahoma, battleship. I can remember the exact dates of all of my assignments, to include deployments (well to the month/year anyway). Every navy person I've ever talked to that has served on a ship can do the same, especially the name and type of the boat - crap it's stenciled on everything they see. So, no, I didn't stand on my bar stool an scream at him that he was a liar. I hope that helps settles your sensibilities and thanks for being so conscientious.
  19. Not quite the same caliber as SrA Douchebag, but I was having lunch yesterday and overheard an older guy a couple seats down at the bar loudly telling another guy how he served on the USS Oklahoma while stationed in Japan during the 70's. I couldn't help myself, I asked him if he was sure it was the Oklahoma - just about everyone I've met from the Navy could remember exactly what boat, err ship, they were on and when. He was adamant that it was the Oklahoma, even confirming for me the no-kidding battleship of that name, because he bragged that he'd give tours to the local girls to work his "game". He was somewhat taken aback when I mentioned that the USS Oklahoma was sunk at Pearl Harbor, raised in '43, and sank again in '47 while enroute to the scrap yard - never having returned to active service, much less Japan in the 70's. Sucks to be stupid.
  20. OK, I might like you a bit more now.. Has anyone seen the remake of True Grit yet? I kind of want to see it, but it seems almost blasphemous..
  21. I know a little about OSI, they're too busy to stake out bath houses to possibly find gay AF dudes. Which leads me to believe that there's more to the story, as is generally the case. One potential issue that seems to have been overlooked (or I missed it due to skimming through the crap) is the potential for blackmail/coercion if he were to be found out by the wrong person - that, IMO, is a huge issue w/DADT: if you're gay make sure no one finds out otherwise you'll suffer the consequences. That is very exploitable.
  22. What tomorrow's actual theater will be is speculative. The current and emerging threats are known - although apparently not by you. OMG!! We have BOTH Vipers AND Falcons! Best of both worlds I must say...
  23. One of my personal favorites that happened a couple of months ago: me - "I can't log in, I'm getting error xyz" SCM - "I'll email you the instructions on how to fix your problem". During my incredulous silence the individual's clue light came on...
