  1. thanks, will do. that's actually really encouraging to hear.
  2. i did fail. i was able to perform it satisfactorily on some attempts but not so with others. i'm not sure exactly why i failed, i'll post up that information as soon as i have it.
  3. just did my FC1 and was told i need to go specialist for "workups" for this issue. does that mean i'm going to need a waiver? anyone elucidate?
  4. no more than F-4Gs, B-1s or Huns and Thuds for that matter. keeping a unit in a manned airframe, keeping a unit part of the CAF and keeping everything ancillary to the flying, MX, CE, et al. made more sense that having them fly nothing in lieu of somthing that has basically no state application
  5. that's a better mentality than ten years ago, when for example, the PA guard played a weak hand and lost when trying to avoid C-12s/C-27s. they ended up with a UAV MCE only. sorry MX technicians kick rocks, go work for DCMA.
  6. not all TSPs are that long
  7. long way down from XL 15-08
  8. grandad? edit for better picture
  9. ing awesome. my timing is impeciable
  10. there's a section for questions about your package, so to speak: https://www.flyingsquadron.com/forums/forum/8-what-are-my-chances/ 177th will have a board early next year. they will want you to be done school and not needing an age waiver. get good scores, you may get an interview. 482nd hasn't had a board for a minute, may have one soon. not sure why they would have said that. there are tons of people who apply for the UPT boards and quite a few who come from the acive duty. i commute there from philadelphia which is a great place to live. not far from DC/NYC etc.
  11. is that the closest the T-1/T-38 drop ratio has been for some time? 6:7 AD
  12. Oregon seems like such a great basing location, wish I was staying guard.
  13. if only he'd had the core values, he'd have been excellent in all he did and we wouldn't be talking about him from the wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_O%27Grady#Shootdown "It also allowed him time to figure out how to operate the radio, since because of not paying attention during pilot training sessions he was unfamiliar with it."
  14. i wonder what the costs to the supply chain and for depot level mx for single engine type for the F-16 would have been compared with sustaining both the F110 and F100.
  15. got it (writes down) "be shitty"
  16. If the Air Force purchases enough F-35s for 2 wings with 6 squadrons and 1 FTU, with the intention of using it as a first night strike fighter, it's going down a route similar to the F-117. Would the unit cost explode if this happened?
  17. i wouldn't know, i've never experenced that. "my jet" and was at depot for days before i even knew; i was working someone else's. was briefed by depot about developing a better working relationship with dccs or pretend dccs, and had some great ideas going both ways. supposed to send a crew chief and avionics out to okay the tctos only to have one guy get sent to depot for two or three jets because he was AGR and it was just easier.
  18. ^^^this
  19. which is why i'm terrified to take my stripes off and leave mx and for ops but here i go
  20. because those guys probablly had a TO open whatever page and did forms and CAMS while the jet flew.
  21. i'm sure a change in MAJCOM with give the maintianers the magic powers they've so baddly needed.
