  1. someone will need to sponsor you on base, that's usually something your recruiter will handle. i'm sure prior service folks have some good stories about showing up to boards and have some LPA member ask "hey bro, you have a CAC? you mind uh, sponsoring some people?" 15 applicants later...
  2. fwiw i talked to them in the spring and they told me they had alot of folks in the pipeline, but that was then.
  3. Motown is good people
  4. any baseops guys/gals get picked up of late?
  5. isn't that supposed to happen in conjunction with the a-10s leaving?
  6. Two 301st FW F-16s collide at Nellis
  7. "Maybe if the mx maintainers (sic) were actually doing their jobs instead of having hundreds of down days, this wouldn't happen" pro super? only a super could think there are "hundreds of down days" a year
  8. anyone needing gouge pm me
  9. 11x track studs coming from the guard will sometimes bypass IFS, i'm not sure at who's discression they do so. my friend who did was 3k+ hours.
  10. but still extant is the advantage of no t-1s for those who'd prefer t-38s and at least the appearance of a trend of better -38 drops. also, no RPAs for now I was told the PSCM score you were selected for OTS is something you stuck with, i.e. you can't add hours after your selection to boost your chances at ENJJPT. accurate?
  11. We'll be able to fly
  12. some units are real chill about it and others are not, just depends.
  13. spoken like a true nonner
  14. I joined a guard unit to get in good with a fighter squadron who turned out to not want me because i'm too old. I spent alot of time that would have been better spent in college going to tech school, learning my job, going on trips, getting older and needing a better job. I got a slot by the skin of my teeth. If you join to go to college, mind the community you join. To wit: don't become a crew cheif and half ass it or you will be eaten alive.
  15. where you diagnosed before or after you were throught UPT?
  16. addionally, i have to confess to being a little bewildered by the whole proess. the doc who did the test is telling me i don't need threapy. then the doc who i guess did the central part of my FC-1 is telling me that therapy is my best option, since sending it to AETC as is will probably get me disqualified. none of them actually can tell me the metrics of what's wrong with my eyes because of some computer issues. my recuiters seem clueless, as does my guard units flight medical. i feel like i have no advoate and no plan...
  17. So the diagonosis from Flight Medicine is Exophoria. Their opinion is that a waiver submitted with no treatment would result in a denial. They recommend I pursue therepy for the condition. My major concer is that I've already got a waiver for age and I'm uncertain how the two will interact.
  18. He didn't make it, doesn't sound like he attempted to get out https://www.abc15.com/news/state/iraq-confirms-its-pilot-died-in-arizona-military-plane-crash
  19. awesome wouldn't adding people to a pipeline that already can't keep up with demand simply exacerbate the problem?
  20. standard thought process, maintainer's perspective, now applied to drops: 1. they wouldn't set it up like that, that's insane > 2. oh lord, they did > 3. WHY > 4. (picks up wrench)
  21. Peace Hawg i wonder how many A-10 units will fly their jets direct to the countires that took their A-37s 25 years ago. oh wait, there's only one unit left that been flying them for that long.
  22. some attempts at plotting track/drop probability
  23. come on, you know me man: maintainers don't have their phone on the line :/
  24. what masshole said. I got picked up active duty with a PSCM of 49 and 14.1 hours.
