  1. Maybe at the top tier schools- but your every-day-run-of-the-mill university is just a diploma factory. I don't know what the rate is of students who go onto uni in the UK, but in the U.S. it's about 70%. That's roughly 2 million kids entering uni each year- which means some universities sacrifice individual attention and quality for the sake of quantity.
  2. Oh yeah, also forgot to add- Good luck getting a jury to convict Ryan. Not in the state of Kansas.
  3. Ah yes... I went to their satellite school- University of Puerto Rican Rum. And thanks to FG for his contribution and guidance.
  4. I read that in our local paper- but it was a bit more in depth. He was charged with three counts of "Criminal use of weapons" - meaning either he had the guns concealed and doesn't have a CCH permit, or he had suppressors on the guns or a combo of both according to the state statute. Here's the kicker- the guy is a double amputee. edit- deleted redundant portion already covered by CH's post
  5. "If there's one thing in this world I cannot stand... it's fucking soccer. And I hate it when people do it around me." -Kenny Powers "In America people fucking hate soccer, and honestly, that's the way it should be." -Kenny Powers The man is a genius.
  6. The problem with your theory is that the individual doesn't necessarily have total control over what they do, career-wise. A person may WANT to take on those more dangerous jobs in order to earn a better retirement... however, the military may say "sorry, you're not what we need" or "We need you elsewhere" or "You're being non-vol'd to XX position which doesn't earn near as much retirement pay as your current duties do". In the corporate world an individual has the opportunity to advance into other areas if they're not content with the deal they are getting. They can go back to school and get an advanced degree to move up in the company, move to a different company entirely, start their own company, choose a whole other career choice, etc. But with the military, while you affect your career and can help your chances, you are also dependent on what big blue decides for you.
  7. It's a running joke between M2 and I... it's been awhile since I've joked on him and needed to catch up.
  8. Oh yeah... almost forgot-
  9. Eh - 1st his name is Asa the comic; 2nd it's an ireport- meaning anyone can send crap in: Here's CNN's explanation on the vetting process for these reports- So there ya go.
  10. Back then? Yes. Today? Eh- maybe if I had a few in me...
  11. Yes - it counts as an overseas long. Not a remote. A remote would be a year tour in Korea, for example. Yes
  12. I said gross because him AND his dad both "loved it". I just hope they didn't "love it" at the same time- that would be really gross, and awkward.
  13. They keep breaking.
  14. Yes- because TACC never changes missions on an aircraft, making them have to fly to a new destination when they have landed at an enroute stop from their previous mission. I guess those flight plans will have to file themselves and those crew meals will get ordered via ESP.
  15. So which is it, brah? You seem to be talking out of both sides of your mouth or can't seem to remember your own stance.
  16. Exactly. And those retards more often than not worry about the nit noid BS as to whether or not by PT shirt is tucked in, whether my sunglasses are on top of my head, etc rather than accomplishing the mission. Hence the reason for this thread. By self labeling yourself as a shoeclerk you have already let us know which camp you fall into in the retard vs nonretard battle.
  17. Uh no we don't. I'm not a cargo flyer... You know what they say about ASSumptions.
  18. Ok... bus driver. Thanks for clueing us in on your level of intelligence. Disengage. It's not nice to pick on those with disabilities.
  19. Pfft... they're not even smart enough to realize the "intel" they're reading is 3 years old.
  20. Ah yes, the club at Elmendorf. I have such a fond memory of my squadron's Christmas party in '95. Had my first taste (or 20) of Goldschlager. What a great experience it was when EMS arrived at my apartment because I'm hyperventilating while slumped over the toilet in nothing but my tightie whities. Good times, good times. 15 years later... haven't had a sip of the gold flaked bastard since.
  21. Crap! I just spewed soda out my nose. Thanks for that!
  22. Ha! I've had this as my ringtone for a couple weeks now. These kids are pretty damned talented. They run a youtube channel called Auto Tune the News. Can be pretty funny at times. Auto Tune the News What got me onto these guys was this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcpx8O82KLM And what these guys did with it:
  23. UFB. Love to see how much weight the dude who is 6'2"+ is going to have to carry at that angle. Can't be comfortable at all.
