Ah! But they have. Granted the number of 2nd amendment cases pales in comparison to the number of 1st amendment cases they take on, but it does happen. ACLU petitions court to get man's guns returned from Broward Sheriff's Office ACLU Defends Gun Rights in New Orleans ACLU of Nevada Opposes Bill Stripping Due Process Rights of Gun Owners If you want, I can provide a link to the stories of them defending the Christians right. Just let me know.

ACLU....defended your right to use a swear word or put up your middle finger without being arrested for disorderly. ACLU....argued, won, and overturned the states ban on interracial marriages. ACLU....assisted in the Brown vs Board of Education case which led to a ban on racial segregation. ACLU....defended Rush Limbaugh during his drug trial stating law enforcement should have no right to look at his private medical records. ACLU....defended Christian students' right to preach in public parks. ACLU....defended Christian students wearing anti-Islam shirts to Florida public school. ACLU....Intervenes on behalf of Christian valedictorian, Michigan high schools agrees to stop censoring religious yearbook entries. Just sayin... You have to take the bad with the good.

Meaning upper chest/neck/face/head. Anything seen in the open collar area or above.

He's not ejecting from that aircraft... he ejected from another aircraft. This is his wingman catching him midair, notice the pilot? Saves money from having to repack the chute and sending out the SAR team.

And that's a fair response, and one that I agree with to a point. A bit of an exaggeration as they were actually held for a couple of days by the Dutch while they were investigated, but I get your point. It just read to me, from your initial response, that there was no way these guys weren't up to no good and that any other response other than making them out to be terrorists was inadequate.
-
If you had bothered to read any of the articles posted on the topic you'd see what countries they were from, their names, and where they were travelling to. Brabus first response was that it was obvious these guys are up to something illegal or planning to do something illegal and that it is ridiculous for us to even consider that they aren't. So how is this case not apropos when it comes to the assumption of innocence? You are correct... OJ was found Not Guilty. That doesn't mean he was found innocent. There is a difference. Gearpig gets the hyperbole post of the day. Gratz!

I gotta be honest. I don't believe you. Sorry. If that's the case then I would have expected equal outrage when the Hutaree militia was allowed to go free on bond.
-
That is totally something I can agree on. Ya it's suspicious, yes it should be looked at, yes these guys should be investigated and looked at with more scrutiny. My whole argument was against those (like Brabus) who automatically assume that they are guilty of whatever they are being suspected of. I guess the assumption of innocence only applies to those of non muslim sounding names in his book. I'm not naive enough to think that those that want to do us harm won't test our security systems first. I also know innocent people get convicted of crimes they didn't commit and that coincidences, while suspicious on the surface, do occur.

It's also easy to miss your flight if your arrival is late getting in. Ever flown into/out of O'Hare? Yea it's a fuckin' nightmare. I avoid that airport at all costs. As far as the taped phones and watches... I'll let the former head of TSA, Kip Hawley, take that one for me. "It is not unusual to find items like watches and cell phones bound together on flights to countries like Yemen." https://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2010/08/2-arrested-in-amsterdam-after-flight-from-chicago.html
-
They changed their flights because they missed their connection, due to no fault of their own. Their luggage continued on, through no fault of their own. But feel free to jump to all sort of conclusions. I wouldn't expect anything else.
-
I don't know if it's custom. But it was cell phones and watches taped together and one box knife (not taped to anything). Maybe, just maybe the guy is selling bootleg phones and watches in Yemen and secured them together to keep them from getting tossed around in his luggage and was planning to use the box knife to cut off the tape once he arrived. Not how I would secure my crap in my luggage, but hey, to each their own. I also don't like cheese on my apple pie... my grandpa on the other hand.

Yemeni Airline Suspects Freed Without Charge I guess you'll have to say that the FBI (and U.S. intel) along with Dutch law enforcement (and their intel) have no clue on what they are doing. Oh wait... they have muslim names. They have to be terrorists. My bad.
-
Uhh... because apparently it was a coincidence. At least as far as these two being on the same flight. FBI: Unlikely That 2 Yemenis Plotted Terror https://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/09/01/report-unlikely-yemenis-plotted-terror/?test=latestnews I don't know. I'm going to have to lean on the experts on this one. I just hope they're right.

Damn it! If you're gonna steal my material at least get it right. The actual saying is:

Ha! That reminds me of my time in ORAT in '06. A small handfull of us AF working with a very large contingent of USMC. We hadn't been in country a few days when we received a series of 6 to 7 mortar/rocket rounds. A few quite close (100 yards or so) from our building. Without hesitation the three of us Air Force go running out of our building with no vest/helmet/gear of any kind just to see exactly how close those rounds hit (also not even wondering if the attack had ceased or was just paused)... after making our assesment we return back into the building where, of course, the marines have donned full protective gear and taken shelter under whatever they could find.. I had to laugh at our stupidity. The only time I got really concerned was when a siren I had never heard before went off and the Marines we were working with looked at each other with very concerned faces, loaded and then charged their weapons. Ours were locked in a Conex some 50 yards away. Nothing came of that incident but when I saw the concern on their faces that was when I got worried... I started carrying my weapon a bit more frequently after that.

Someone should have gave them a link to our Gun thread. I'm sure M2 or Timbonez could of gave them some sage advice on the reliability of their intended duty weapons.

Me too... with a 2x4.

No! Don't you see? The reason he is the busiest fighter pilot is because he does all those things that 69,000 others do PLUS he made a video! That video shoot is THE thing that pushed him over the line making him the busiest fighter pilot. /sarcasm for those that didn't pick up on it even though I laid it on pretty thick.

You should have seen those woods before Yukla went down. After that they did a massive culling of the tress in that area. I was driving around the hammerhead when that E3 went down. I still have a very vivid memory of that plane just sliding down into the trees and the fireball thereafter.

Probably not... but I heard Nathan's is sponsoring the pool.

Nice Duke. I was beginning to think I was the only Ducati enthusiast. I've been on the hunt for an '07 Monster SR4 with some nice Termi pipes for awhile now. I had a 998 back in the day but it wasn't pillion friendly so switched to the Monster series. I really enjoyed riding that bike and I could be a bit more carefree than I was with the 998 due to the lack of having to worry about marring the fairings.

You are only required to check in once... once you receive a non a it is good for the duration regardless of the number of days on the non-a slip. You aren't on the line for the cost above the VOQ rate on base. As long as your lodging rate is at or below the max lodging rate for that locality. $70 is the max for Altus so you're right there. You'll be reimbursed at that $70 rate.

Seems this guy may be getting a second look at. He's already been cautioned twice for mixing his active duty with his politics. Also seems he exaggerated his service and that Intel officer of the year award. That was given to the whole unit, not this one individual. Source *typos

FG- quick question, what if your stay is extended a couple days past your non-a? I got a non-a and it stated it was for 17 days (which was the original length I was supposed to be here). Now my stay has been extended by a few more days. Do I need to get an updated non-a showing the additional days or is the original statement good?

Details on fired WG/CC from Hanscom
Vertigo replied to Napoleon_Tanerite's topic in General Discussion
The only question I have is this: Was the Wing/CC her first call for a pickup? If so then it points to a unprofessional relationship. If on the other hand she had tried to contact others and wasn't getting any help then I have no problem with the ride. But if/when your first choice of personnel to call for a ride is the Wing King then something isn't right there. I'm not saying don't call them for a ride if you need it, especially when the offer is out there, but it should be your last option not your first.
