  1. True- for me I'd prefer the stay in place longer over than constant back and forth. Longer tours are easier once you get a daily routine established. Maybe, but then they aren't on the road when at home station flying training/JAATT/channel missions missing their kids' t-ball games, graduations, birthdays, etc.
  2. You lose so much when you sell leave because you only get paid base pay. No BAH + all the other shit like COLA, BAS, etc. Selling leave is a lose/lose for you.
  3. Weird... same thing happened to my wife when I was in Iraq. Let this be a warning to everyone else here. Don't let your wife watch 3D porn while you're overseas. And since I'm drunk so Palin porn
  4. On that note I'm a good way into reading a great book called "One Second After" by William Fortschen. A good friend of Newt Gingrich. Great story about the U.S. getting hit with an EMP attack and the aftermath that follows. Pretty damn eye opening and scary. I highly recommend it.
  5. Trying this from my phone... hope it works.
  6. And that's what is really sad about this story. Not that the kids wore those shirts, but that there was most likely be a strong reaction to them wearing the shirts. Cinco de Mayo isn't a celebration of hispanic heritage, it's a celebration of Mexico winning a battle in which they were huge underdogs. Just for shits and giggles I'll play the devil's advocate and say "Ok, but in the U.S. Cinco de Mayo has changed over time to be more about celebrating hispanic heritage." Right- but nationality does not equal race. You can be an American and still retain your hispanic heritage. You should be able to celebrate your race and nation.
  7. True, but then again I didn't start a new thread did I? ;) I thought it was relevent to this thread so I posted it. Oh well, pee pee schwacked. No biggie.
  8. British snipers are all over the news today. This guy only killed two Taliban. But set a sharpshooting record for distance. 8,124 feet. That's so far they wouldn't of even heard the shots. 1 1/2 mile sniper kill
  9. And by young he still means over the age of consent.
  10. 2. If I was you I'd be putting all the overseas bases available first. Followed by OCONUS and then CONUS. edit* me no type good
  11. Feel free to scroll up and read a few of the posts on this page. It'll probably answer your questions... especially when it comes to pee bottles.
  12. He better hope there's ad seg unit at the jail, otherwise he'll probably be back in the hospital soon enough.
  13. Your english is very good for a foreigner.
  14. Spending money on the military and its troops = anti-military. Check. Look, I'm not defending the guys questionable ethics. Or unscrupulous behaviours. Or turning on his fellow Marines. I'm defending the accusation you made that he is anti-military. He clearly was not.
  15. Scorpion Streamlight Up to 7,500 candela (peak beam intensity); 120 lumens Or something a bit smaller but still pretty damn bright- Scorpion
  16. Whoa. Murtha was anything but "anti-military". He did change his mind on Iraq and said some pretty shitty things about the Haditha incident in which he smeared his fellow Marines, but he was not anti-military. Remeber he fought to keep the funding for the F-22. DoD Buzz It was also because of Murtha that the DOD instituted the PDRMA program. PDRMA credited to Murtha Secretary of the Army John McHugh remembers Murtha as someone who "cared deeply for our men and women in uniform". McHugh's statement It was Murtha’s influence that led Congress to provide a $500 allowance for every month a service member was held on active-duty under stop-loss orders. And it was Murtha who forced the Defense Department come up with a way to provide more time between deployments for Iraq and Afghanistan combat veterans. Marine Corps Times Bash him all you want on his smearing of Marines in Haditha, he deserves that. But you can't label him anti-military when you go back and look at his actual record. He was anything but.
  17. The joke being that any advice received from the Navy would be worth listening to.
  18. You plan on living until you're 200?
  19. Not only is Elton John gay but he also likes to have sex with men.
  20. No, if you're active duty your AD since day 1, even through Tech school. Your IDT points are for your drills, no? I think only the AD points count.
