So you don't think it's inappropriate for your commander to berate you with a tirade of f-bombs in front of the E's in your squadron? Or would you rather receive your verbal counselings in private? I don't think her use of the f-bomb was their complaint. It was her use of it on her junior officers, in front of the Es, constantly that was the complaint.

It was actually two engines that caught fire. The FD sprayed their foam and ruined the other two good engines. At least that's the rumint I'm hearing here at Whiteman.
-
Whiteman has a gun/ammo section in their BX. About 3 dozen pistols and a handful of rifles/shottys. It was ok, but I'd much rather go up the road to Bass Pro or Cabellas.

LOL Holy shit! I bet this guy doesn't get tailgated very often.

No later than 60 months from previous UCI per AFI 90-201 3.1 (page 25)

So which half do you fall in? The gay half or the female half?
-
Wrong. He said it was "hypothetical". It's like calling a GO a douchebag to his face, but prefacing it by saying "With all due respect..." As long as you say with all due respect you can say anything you want. BTW Tits or GTFO

Going yes. Coming home no. Especially if it's someplace like Elmendorf in the summer or Hickam.

I'd love to get my hands on that 556 DMR... I don't think the wife will let me cancel our vacation to Australia for it though.
-
Maybe. I didn't put in that after she passed us she stopped and put it in reverse, but must've changed her mind and continued on forward. She had her drivers window down and when she stopped she was no more than a few feet past us. It would of been maybe 4 or 5 feet from me to her drivers door/window. I just know that I felt and still do feel that my life and the lives of others was being threatened and if drawing and firing could of stopped a potential death of an innocent I would of done it. I'm sure a huge headache would have ensued afterwards (bigger than I have now with having to go to court, etc) but in those split seconds you don't really think of that... you think of ending the threat.

So I had a little run in this past weekend and one woman should thank her lucky stars that I decided not to carry that night. She wound up in jail rather than the hospital/morgue. Took the wife out to dinner and a movie with plans of maybe hitting a bar afterwards (hence why I left the XD at home). I pulled into a parking space that had just come open in a pretty crowded lot. As I get out I see a white Chrysler speeding towards us and comes to a screeching halt turning to block me in. This woman rolls down her window and says to me "That was my space! I had my blinker on!" Now mind you I had seen this Chrysler at the far end of the lot (a good 75 yards away from the space I pulled into). Me being me and the attitude this woman had displayed I just shrugged and said "Sorry". The wife and I start to depart the area on foot and head towards the restaurant. This woman backs her car up about 30 feet, puts it in drive and floors it while swerving towards us. I push the wife in between two parked cars and jump out of the way. Her car missing me by no more than 3 or 4 inches (her car actually hitting my coat but not my person). At this point is where I most likely would have drawn my weapon, but since I left it at home I called the police instead. Lucky for me this was witnessed by an off duty officer who had also called it in. The ended up catching her a few minutes later when she was spotted still driving erratically and reckless in another parking lot of the same entertainment complex. She got booked for DUI, reckless endangerment, and a host of other misdemeanors. Just goes to show, there are times when you may need to defend yourself or others. It worked out for us this time. The wife, who had usually gave me a hard time when I carry, had a pretty good eye opening experience and now I think she sees the otehr side of the argument.

Great response! Now the hard part... trying to decipher if I'm being sarcastic or genuine.

Close... slightly south of those locations, but not by much. I'm sure some of the Herc and C17 guys on here have been to this base for an advanced airlift course. The former CC for that schoolhouse is the aforementioned Wing CC.
-
Let me add some more buffoonery to this fire. UCI at my guard base recently. The wing CC mandates "wear of reflective belts 24/7". This includes during hours of daylight, while indoors, while upstairs in a two story building, while driving your vehicle to and from the base, while at your hotel off base if you're not from the local area, if you are in civilian clothes on base. Hell to me 24/7 means 24/7 so if you're in the shower at home... better have a belt on. Fucking the wife? Better be wearing your belt! The Wing CC also directed 1st Sgts to go to the local hotels and make sure his out of town traditionals were wearing the belt at the hotel "just in case an inspector sees them during their off duty time". Those caught without a belt on "will be severely reprimanded". The gate guards were checking people as they entered the base to ensure they had on reflective belts in their car! - More - All no hat/no salute areas on base were null and void during the UCI; this includes the ramp. You could not address an airman or NCO as airman or sergeant. It had to be Airman First Class Snuffy or Technical Sergeant Beergut, etc. The full time AGR and technicians were mandated to take down all personal items from their desks/offices. No pics of the kids or wife, etc. The list goes on but I'm finding myself getting pissed off the more I type so I'm going to end there.

You didn't. This topic waxes and wanes. It'll be hot for a couple months... then nothing for awhile. Then some shoe will do something completely retarded at the Deid and the whole thing will kick back up. You give yourself too much credit.

M2 and his wife have a very good deal. He gets to purchase all the guns he wants and she can't say anything. She gets to paint the walls of the house ridiculous shades of yellow and he can't say anything. Win - Win for all involved. In all seriousness I came across this ruling from the First Circuit Court of Appeals for New England (which is just one step lower than the SCOTUS). I guess in Massachussetts even though you have a CCW, that you're doing nothing other than walking down the street, that you're carrying a briefcase and wearing a suit means that police can still jump out of the car, point a gun in your face, unlawfully stop you, unlawfully search you, unlawfully detain you, and unlawfully confiscate your gun and CCW permit. Even though you have committed no crime and the only thing the cop saw was a flash of your gun as your suit jacket opened while you were walking. More here: https://hotair.com/greenroom/archives/2010/01/06/disgrace-circuit-court-rules-ma-concealed-carry-permits-are-worthless/ The full ruling here: https://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/cgi-bin/getcase.pl?court=1st&navby=docket&no=091370

I'll agree to this if it's just one or two persons traveling in uniform. But when 30 of us show up together in a blue bus with government plates, check in together under a group booking with the tickets being charged to an AF travel account, and go through the gate together... chances are were not some dudes who just rolled up to the milsurp store and forged 30 mil IDs.

The telltale use of "dfac" automatically lets others know he is not like them.
-
I didn't judge the band like a book by its cover. I saw them as an opening act with no preconceived notion of the band. They stunk. And they acted like tools. LIke I said before when I was watching them it looked like some frat boys decided to form a metal band that parodied the early 80's metal bands, until some kid told me that "no, they are serious... that's just who they are". But thanks for proving my point when you compared them to bands that started in the 1970's not the late 2000's.
-
You had me until you threw this shit band in the mix. I seen them opening up a show last summer and I seriouly thought they were a parody act until I was told otherwise. This band is a joke, although not meant to be. Think frat kids doing a very bad impression of early 80's metal bands complete with Japan's rising sun headbands and red leather pants and you have Atreyu. Atreyu- you may not be as gay as TIB, but damnit, you're trying!

Regardless of whether you have to be wearing one or have one on your person in the chow hall, denying someone a meal because they don't have it is outrageous. Being assaulted by a SNCO because you decide to serve yourself from the salad line is even more outrageous. I refer you to to these posts:
-
That's what annoys me. Don't get Neal Boortz here... but we do get Bill Cunningham, what a treat that guy is (/sarcasm)!
-
Yep. Pretty much everyday. Sometimes I get annoyed enough that I'll turn the station but most days I endure.

This has been around forever with the regular uniform (ie the rule if you're going to wear a watch cap you need to also be wearing a coat/jacket with it). Makes sense to me, if it's cold enough for a watch cap why are you wearing shorts? And if it's warm enough to wear shorts why the need for a watch cap?
