  1. Just go with a small or medium- chicks dig the too small t-shirt look.
  2. You can get back on CH's good side- just talk liberal politics with him. It's his favorite subject!

I know in Kansas where I grew up that you can have a gun in the vehicle as long as it is in plain sight and it isn't loaded; no need to lock it in the trunk or in a case. If you have a CCW permit then obviously it doesn't need to be in plain sight. My uncle often travels with his Glock on the passenger seat and the loaded mag in the center console. But then again in Kansas you can carry a firearm on your belt in public without a CCW permit as long as it is visible.
  4. Is the $140 million the per cost if we get the full order of 381? I see different numbers on the cost of the F-22 ranging from $350 million per to your figure of $140 million. I know about incremental cost; so is the $350 million the price we have paid so far per aircraft and is expected to decrease to $140 million as we near the full order of 381? Just trying to clear up the confusion in my head over the actual cost. Thanks.
  5. This we agree on- as I stated earlier I don't think we should be cutting the F-22 program. I entered in '93 so I had no comparison to what it was like prior to Clinton- to me that was just the norm. Plus I was young and ill-informed on politics and diplomacy. I'll have to take your word that the AF was raped by Clinton- but that doesn't mean Obama is bound to do the same does it? We do still have a conservative SECDEF and I'm willing to bet Obama kept him for a reason.
  6. As opposed to saying 2 is less than 1? ;) Thanks for the debate CH- I get what you're driving at with the inflation. My argument is against those who use the fear mongering tactics while hiding the real figures. I too would be interested in seeing what part of the GWOT funds went into the main budget. Having said that I think with the drawdown in Iraq (meaning less $ spent there) to have us still come out with an increase in total spending over FY09 isn't something to be crying about. Hell he could have chopped us off at the knees- but he didn't.
  7. Prediction doesn't make it fact. Fact: Defense spending for FY10 is up over FY09 despite a drawdown in the war on terror funds. $553B > $515B If the argument is that weapons programs like the F-22 should not be cut; I agee. I would, however, like to see SOME oversight so that we don't keep getting by the weapon makers in terms of cost overruns.
  8. You got a crystal ball that tells what the inflation rate is going to be next FY?
  9. Read the first line of the article- even adding in the war costs to the main defense budget the overall budget (including the war funds) increased 1.9%; an increase is an increase is an increase. It is NOT a decrease no matter how much you want it to be.
  10. I love how people distort the facts; the fact is defense spending is UP for FY 2010. The 10% cut was a reduction in the planned budget which was slated for a higher increase. IT'S STILL AN INCREASE OVER FY09 NOT A DECREASE! The budget request includes 533.7 billion dollars for the main defense budget, which marks an increase of four percent over the main budget for fiscal 2009.

What prices were they offering? I paid $570 for mine a couple weeks ago and that was on the low end of the average I've been finding. Don't know about the mil discount- I asked at Cabela's where I bought mine and they said no discount.

I got to agree with M2. I wouldn't trade my XD for anything else. I took the wife out yesterday afternoon to show her the basics of using a handgun- she's from Australia and has never handled a gun before. She was a little nervous the first 2 or 3 rounds fired... from then on it was like she'd been doing it her entire life. She put 8 rounds from a 13 round clip thru a paper plate at 20 yards her first go around. All up we fired 250 rounds and didn't have one misfeed/jam/whatever. Worked like a champ. I think I got her hooked cause on the ride home she said to me "I can see how this could become very addicting." I just smiled on the inside.

I just picked up a Ruger Mark II target .22 cal long rifle pistol for $50. How can I tell what year it was made? Does the serial number play into that at all?

Bought the last two boxes of WWB 45 auto yesterday from Wally World. They were low on most ammo except 22. However Cabela's shelves were full of ammo. Prices were better at Cabela's than at Wal-Mart too...

Not against my XD, and I personally don't understand the ban on a 13 round mag versus a 10 round mag. That portion I don't get... but the ban on assault rifles that can easily be modded to be fully automatic I do understand. Where do you draw the line- should we also allow the purchase of RPGs (extreme I know but you get the point)? How much did crime go up during the AWB? If the argument is that only criminals will have those type of guns then there should have been a huge increase in crimes during the AWB... correct? I think, personally, that a good compromise can be had by both the 2nd amendment supporters and those that want to ban all guns. No one will ever be completely happy but we can get to a good median. Also had Virgina's gun pruchase laws kept up with Federal laws Cho would of never been able to purchase those weapons due to his mental condition. These laws have since been updated.

I guess it depends on the type of gun: Handguns, rifles, shotguns, sporting guns, typical gun owned by typical U.S. citizen = Pro Guns that make it easy to kill a building full of schoolkids and outgun the local law enforcement = Anti

  21. Ugh- poor kid. At least when he gets a bit older he'll know his dad was a true warrior and hero.
  22. Nah M2 won't allow his Gun thread to have any competition; merging the threads would cut it too close.
  23. I KNOW no one on this board besides CAVEMAN will be taking any of this "socialist" money on principle alone.
  24. Not drinking the kool aid, just pointing out the facts. I read it and I agree, especially since one of Code Pinks founders was a campaign bundler for Obama. Unfortunately their (Code Pink's) website doesn't mention anything about Afghanistan only Iraq. I would of laughed my ass off had this nutjob group given money to Obama while pushing to pull out of Afghanistan.
