Not saying the guys above are wrong, but I do believe the dentist at my flying physical last summer said that I had 1 impacted wisdom tooth, but it did not have to come out right away. He told me to wait and have the AF pay to take out all 4 wisdom teeth, even though the other 3 came in fine I guess they are prone to cavities and such. Moral of the story, I got that approved stamp on my FC1, not sure if the tooth was impacted, or was "going to become impacted" I have yet to do anything about it as I am still waiting to EAD.

Thanks for the advice. Perhaps the best officer I ever met taught us the power of a case a beer and log of dip, you would be amazed at what people will do. Sadly my old NCOs are text book shoe clerks when it comes to helping us, and are of the non drinking/smoking variety. I tried asking them for help, got a lecture on how it is not their job and they don't ask questions, just take orders and say "yes sir". Old commander is no longer contactable for reasons not be discussed here. No clue who the new guy is. Tried swapping dates, earlier UPT are worth twice their weight in gold, no one is giving those up. Cobra is out of our affordability, with both of us working minimum wage jobs we just can't afford it. That BS degree in basket weaving was great to boost the grades for the UPT slot, not so great in the real world job market. Would it be a rookie 2Lt mistake just to call the AFPC number on their website and ask? Not trying to make a complete fool of myself here.

Thread revival, I am a rotc grad, suppose to be going to upt at Columbus. My EAD and upt dates keep getting pushed back, at this point I am looking at late January early February. I am told that the weather in CBM has been bad and that's whats backing every thing up. SSgts at my old det are just about useless and refuse to do anything they don't have to. Is there anyway I can call afpc and ask if any of the other bases have earlier dates? I'm not to heart set on CBM, could care less where I go, just want to get on active duty and start upt. Also my wife lost her health insurance several months ago, and it's nerve racking to think we will be without insurance for several more months.

A toast.....been a rough year

Everything said above is solid advice. I just commissioned out of ROTC, going to upt in January. Never got a scholarship, I came in as a 250. Make friends with everyone, if you stay in the program you are going to be spending a lot of time with these dudes/dude-ets. Be yourself, never try to through anyone under the bus to get ahead, do everything you can to help others. Memorize as much of the knowledge as possible, and show up to your wings extra activities. Kick ass with grades, and get in the gym and get in best shape as you can. Try to latch on to a solid 200 and POC outside of AF time and get as much knowledge from them as you can. I owe my career to a kick ass guy who was a year ahead of me and helped me out whenever I needed. You will learn more about how to make it through the program by hanging out and drinking a beer with some solid 200s and upperclassman than you ever will from reading a manual. Make sure you talk to POC/cadre about the best times to take your afoqt and tbas. Lastly, make friends with people who are not in ROTC, and do plenty of non ROTC activities. People who make ROTC their entire college life either burn out or become douches who miss out on some of the best years of their life. Drink some beer, meet some ladies, and have fun in school. Good luck P.S. you probably won't ever march on AD as said above, you might once or twice as upper class man (POC), but with all the budget cuts marching and power points are about the only thing ROTC has money for anymore, so as much as it sucks, get good at it if means that what it takes to get to upt.
