FVUK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Monday morning, 0648 CST. It is now time to stop reading Baseops and go put on my long sleeve Blues. Can they find a way to make Monday any worse? Oh well, at least many of us have tomorrow off! Tonight, I drink again! The previous statement has been totally random bitching.

#1 Roter, that .PPT kicks ASS! Nice work! #2 I didn't know that when in civvies the hat was to be held in the left hand. Back in my young days when I was riding rodeo, myself and almost all of my fellow riders held our hats over our heart. Thanks for clearing this up! There is always something to learn! #3 Yesterday, I was helping to work a concession stand as part of a squadron fundraiser ( ) at the OU football game. We had a bunch of Airmen in there who were also volunteers. As soon as the anthem started playing, myself and my co-workers froze, stood at attention with our hands over our hearts and looked straight ahead. One of the troops set down some jackasses nachos in order to do this. As the anthem played said Jackass said "Hey man, could you just hand me my nachos?" I have never been so close to coming over a counter in my life. I saw red and had visions of taking this guys head and impaling his face with a napkin dispenser. I said "You can wait for a min. on your nachos dude" while giving him my most piercing gaze I could. He rolled his eyes, turned around and respected our anthem... SHEESH. Just typing this got me riled up on that again. GREAT THREAD HERE!

THREAD REVIVAL!!! I figured this was a better place to throw out this question than a new thread. Does anyone know a good source to BUY a USAF authorized A-2 jacket that is of the same or better quality than the ones being issued? Before I get flamed, here's the deal. After 10 years working my ass off on the flight line as a knuckle busting MX guy, and three years in training, this July I finally became a CMR kind of dude. I had not thought about the jacket much, but now that it's starting to get cold, I went to my RA and asked for my jacket. The answer? "That is a low-priority item. We'll take your name down and you can expect to get it sometime at the end of next year". F**k that! I want my @#$%@#$! jacket! I'll go ahead and be a nerd and say I always thought they were cool as hell as a MX dude and wished I could wear one. Now, I worked my ass off and have finally earned one... But can't get it because our squadron can't even afford paper right now. So yeah...Anyone know a good source? I figure I'll buy one and then when I finally get my issued one, I'll sell it on E-bay and recoup some of my money, or give it to a new FE who can't afford one but has earned his as well.

We used to do "White trash T-Shirt day" last year when I was in AETC. The AETC sup to 36-29 chow my hog says that brown, black and white V-Neck's are authorized. (I carried the reg with me to stop annoying point-outs from shoes) My buddy from Skool and I wanted to do it here at Tinker, so I went looking into the reg, and the ACC sup, but it seems that in ACC you can only do brown or black T-Shirts, so no White Trash T-Shirt daze for us in ACC... Refer to your local command supp as well as the wing supp to see if it's authorized... And if it's not, go for it and feign innocence if you are called out.

Oh no, I was ENCOURAGING you to be different... Keep up with it, throw some emotion in. Tell how crappy it is when you hook a ride, tell about the elation of passing a checkride, talk about how old the LSI instructors are and how they are teaching you T-37 stuff in the T-6 because that's all they know, talk about the friendships that you make that will last a life time, or about that drunken weekend out on Amistad. Be a little bit different. I'm sure you've read other folks BLOG's, try to switch it up a littlb bit. I'm still waiting on THAT UPT Blog...

Oh man, I knew it was coming soon. I just hope this sort of thing does not spread.

I was standing on a -86 diesel generator set in the Kirtland AGE shop. I remember someone hollering from the break room "Hey, come in here and take a look at this"! I walked in right as the second plane hit, and went out to the floor and told everyone to come into the break room. I remember one of the young troops looking at me and asking "I guess this means we are at war, huh"? I replied "You're damn right we're at war". I spent the rest of the afternoon with an M-16 guarding the fuel dump at the AGE shop. Just writing this brought chills from the memories and emotions I remember feeling on that day.

No big surprise, but we got caught up here at Tinker. The E-Mail came out yesterday. My blues are Code 1, but I went up to clothing sales with a friend today just to see what the chaos looked like. It was amazing! The line at the dressing rooms was at least 5-7 people long! There was no rank to be had on the shelves. I'm guessing most other bases are like this as well.

Damnit, now I am torn. AF Nav says some great words...But then again, CH as usual makes a lot of sense. All I know is that I hate the idea that I HAVE to wear blues on a Monday more than anything, but the question that lies in my mind is "Am I going to sigh and do it willingly for the greater good, or am I going to go in Pi$$d off because my leadership once again, does not get it?" The Kool-aid drinker in me, who is proud to serve and wants to STEP promote the SSgt over at the base gym who puts an effort forth to run outside every day during retreat, stand at attention and SINGS the national anthem out loud would like to think the former, but the 13 year AF man in me who has seen quite a bit and is more than slightly jaded suspects the later. Side note - If you know what I can do an an Lt. for the above mentioned SSgt to get him some Kudos, please let me know via PM.

"2" But it is fun to complain about!

I just have to throw in my $.02 here. I believe, that if you start blousing your blues pants over your combat boots, you may run into some danger of being severely beaten by a Pararescue man/Combat Controller. This has always been "Their" thing, and I propose, out of respect for them, that we leave it that way. I'm just going to go with pants over combat boots with the rest of the bus driver uniform combo myself should the Wing CC at KTIK implement this.
