  1. Don't send him info to that tool. I don't ever recall him being willing to help anyone.
  2. I think you may have hit on a key point here, and the reason we were willing to make such a huge trade out. This late in the game, having everyone out gives us the freedom to GTFO worry free... If they don't sign the SOFA we can tell them to get fucked and bring EVERYONE home.
  3. Huggy, although the line is extremely thin, technically we did not negotiate with terrorists on this. The Taliban is a political party, so much so that they even hold seats in the Afghan parliament. Al-Qaeda are terrorists who the Taliban likes to harbor because they agree with what they are doing. I see no difference between negotiating with the Taliban or negotiating with the Iranian or Pakistani government. Both of them are quite good at harboring terrorists as well. As for releasing the detainees, only history will be able to tell if that was a good move or not. These guys could be so screwed up after their detention that they would go crazy if they hurt an ant...or they could mastermind the next 9/11. As for now, as an American Armed Forces member, I have to believe what they did was in the best interest of the Sgt. And the country. Without that belief, my effectiveness as a fighting member is severely degraded. God, I hope I am right.
  4. M2, can you merge the comments about this in the "leaving Afghanistan thread to here? I think it will need its own topic.
  5. I don't care if we had to release 100 of those f**kers. We got our guy back. The US says it will do whatever it takes and they did.
  6. Nah. It will be a blurb on the CNN ticker when the obvious main news story is Miley Cirus's cooter hanging out at one venue or another.
  7. Apparently, my 365 as an air advisor is still a go. Not a combat role. So much fun having both military colleagues and family ask "But I thought we were getting out of there, so you won't have to go, right?" *sigh*
  8. Was at the race today. Although I was very surprised to see those jets do the flyby, I must say that it was the most professional and impressive one I have seen in a long time. Not because of our lack of ability In The Armed Forces, but because of our restrictions we impose on ourselves. The initial was up the main straightaway, followed by a formation turn to bisect the main grandstand which the Air Force would never have stood for.
  9. And I wouldn't expect any less.
  10. Yes, because no one else has ever screwed in a 135... Ever. And, when I was a maintainer, my nuts were never put on the boomers chin rest... Ever.
  11. Checks. 300 some odd pilots told to find a new gig. Squadron commanders saying "WTF, I have to approve all these ADPs by WHEN?"
  12. 1. Photoshop easy. Ex wife is now hot. 2. Mention of ex wife requires pictures to allow peanut gallery to judge.
  13. Yup. I will be five months short of 19 years when I leave on my fun filled adventure.
  14. Just a guess...17D? Call me crazy.
  15. Historically, when the Blitzkrieg, with numerous Panzer Divisions rolled into Poland, the Polish Army went out and battled them... On horseback. Some would call that ballsy.
  16. Via John Q Public Facebook; apparently AFPC is now doing take backs for previously approved applications.
  17. "He who does not have an iPod full of music has not deployed enough"
  18. DFRESH, let us know if you fall short on the app. I'll gladly kick in a small phenomenal fee to help out. No reason you should be losing money on this.
  19. Very nice! Thanks for doing all the leg work! Posted thanks to DFRESH putting up with Apple.
  20. 1. Formal dress, and don't forget to attach photo for the board of you wearing it. 2. Yes, you can wear the uniform. You are still "in" the Air Force.
  21. Dudes, Just got picked up for a 365 to Asscrackastan as a "Force Management Advisor". The RIP my commander handed me has no information other than an AFSC, date, and general location. (Afghanistan) Further information discovered that I would be an air advisor at Kabul, and some sort of Air advisor course at McGuire. Anyone done this before that can shed some light on the job? I have not signed the paperwork yet. Any tips from those who have been there as to potential "gotchas", or possible ways to leverage this into an assignment preference? Additionally, I have no clue of this will affect my gates or flight pay. Pretty much working in a vacuum here to make a decision. additional info: 18.5 year prior E, '05 year group. 12R, and assignment is for 12G Edit: If there is information that should not be discussed on a public forum, please PM for a .mil or even a SIPR addy.
  22. It says I will be a "force management advisor". Wtf is that? Anyway enough of the derail. Sorry dudes, just venting.
  23. Well, looks like AFPC is not too busy to hand out 365s, but are too busy to answer the phone to discuss the cryptic ass set of orders I got. Beyond pissed. Thanks a lot, Obama.
  24. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_OJVl0LE4CQ Edit: whoops I read CDB. Smart ass attempt; fail.
