  1. So my father taking a SA-2 to the left cockpit, and finishing the bomb run with his AC's head splattered all over his flight suit, the EWO getting killed in the inevitable ejection, and the tail gunner getting blown from the back of the plane and losing his legs, followed by all of them going to Hanoi as guests charged with "Littering and trespassing" isn't brass balls kinda stuff huh? Glad the BUFF guys of today totally remember their heritage, or stop to think of what they could be called on to do again...Enjoy your chicken wings. /Rant to your tangent
  2. Great E-Mail from the CSAF regarding this. Good on him for taking the time to send it out and educate people on this hero.
  3. Walked into his office as a Lt. While TDY down there. Balsey move on my part. He signed his book, offered me a soda and told me a couple stories. A true American hero.
  4. Most awesome travel voucher ever!
  5. Humm. So a little less than a year to go until I am truly safe. Time to make the countdown clock on the desktop!
  6. I would be very curious about this as well as I am over my 18 year mark. Does this mean I can tell big blue to go play a game of "hide and go fuck yourself" if I get a 365 to the Died?
  7. I hope you actually wrote that to them. I don't know if this was presented the same way at my base. I took "Tactical leave" that day. I need to find out...
  8. Humm... NFL referees take note. Oh, and don't go on strike again. Ever.
  9. This thread just became useful again. With that being said, how about this one, which actually fits into the topic of the thread. I'm in the 2005 year group. I would venture to say (some may disagree) that we are one of the most shit on Line Officers year groups out there. After going through multiple RIF's, both rated and non rated, now we are in some sort of fucked up holding pattern for our Majors board. We were told it would be announced sometime this fall...OK I get that. It would be nice, however to hear something from on high saying what they are thinking of doing now. Rumors are starting to run rampant like "They are combining the '05 and '06 year groups", or "promotion rates for the '05 year group will be way down" or even "You guys are looking at an extra year as Captains" (just to name a few). Guess what, I could accept any of this. The needs of the AF ebb and flow, but some sort of information from above the wing level would be nice. Hell, I went flying with my OG the other day and he just said "Ohhhhhhh, you are in '05? I'm sorry, I just don't have any answers for you". Whoever pointed out earlier that if there was ever a time for leadership, it is now, and we need to hear from SOMEONE some information about what is going on in our force other than "Don't be Rape'in". I love my job, and I love the Air Force even for all it's flaws. All I'm asking for is a heads up to grab some lube before it fucks me in the ass. I think a little bit of information would go a long way...
  10. This thread makes my eyes bleed.
  11. Congrats on the U-28 dude! Let me know if you have any questions about Cannon. It's not all bad.
  12. Holy cow! Just cross-checked him on the global, and he's really there. MQ-9 Pilot. Not that I didn't believe you guys, but jeez... This guy is nucking futs!!
  13. EVERYTHING is up for debate. Amendments can be amended with another amendment. The constitution can be interpreted with an amendment. Once again, high school government class. It just has to have the political backing to happen. This is 'Murica. I suspect your problem comes from the fact that these rights are being infringed on without going through the correct process (gun control without amending the constitution). That's where I have a problem to, and where I disagree with her. Edit: To not sound like a flaming liberal, just making a point.
  14. REPRESENTATIVE Duckworth is from the 8th congressional district in Illinois. This is Northern Chicago, right on the lake. As a representative, it is her job to represent the desires of her constituents in DC. (Basic High School government class) Guess what the people of Northern Chicago want? Is it so bad that she is simply doing her job? Besides, I'm more inclined to believe that she has earned the right, much more than many other dirt bags out there in DC to be in the position she is in. Good on the people of Chicago for electing her. I'm all for being able to own whatever fire arms I want, I believe it is a constitutional right, and I let MY representatives in New Mexico know that. It's how this country is supposed to work. Edit: Horrible spelling.
  15. You mean all those guys who had multiple wives in the bible? Sure sounds like that's exactly how ancient Judaism defined it.
  16. Don't agree with a lot of her politics, but this is pretty awesome. The guy she is talking to went to a West Point prep school, where he twisted his ankle (He went on to play QB at SanDiego State). He has claimed disability for it, and gotten VA small business preference, as well as the magical 30%. She totally calls him on it.
  17. The Chaplains are owned by their church first, the military second. Their contract reads that way. If, at any time they are ordered to do something their church does not agree with, the church can pull them from the service. Consider them "on loan" to the military by their respective faiths. They can follow that faith without fear of retribution. Several baptist chaplains were pulled from the service in the 50's for being told to marry interracial couples. It's the right of the church, and it will not be superseded. This is a non-issue, Brick.
  18. Well? Any superman reviews out there yet? Still deciding if I'm going to go see it.
  19. We have been told to report to work in ABU's tomorrow ready to work. Lots of dead kids in those schools so far. Shit.
  20. Not that you are complaining, RIGHT?!
  21. Waaaaay too many gauges. You are confusing me with your evil sorcery.

  23. It was a real honor to be able to do the flyover for SSgt Fannin's funeral on Monday. RIP, brother!
