Trump wants the Senate to kill the PRESS act, already passed by the R House, which protects reporters from revealing sources, etc. Does Trump know something his fellow Rs don't know? https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/21/media/trump-press-act-journalists-media-freedom/index.html (sorry, WSJ and NYT links were pay-walled). Also, Ds are pushing judicial appointments through because some Senators are not doing their current job but rather their future job. And some people are pushing Biden to resign now so Harris can get a few months at the wheel. I bet Jill prevents that move. It really does feel like the Ds are trying to stick the gas pedal to the floor and bail out and watch the ensuing wreck.

I just got an In Stock email from Graffs for CCI M34 primers. I put the request in when they went out of stock when Obama took office. That was about 16 years ago!

Good. Now he can be a blow hole on TV.

My words came off wrong. I was agreeing, hence the word sorry, but saying it was a worthy topic, and then tried to steer it back with subsequent paras. I should have added, a worthy topic in it's own thread. PS, anonymous transition teamsters are leaking that they're not happy with Hesgreth (unforthcoming on past) and someone unearthed a mean tweet from Tulsi (D) calling Trump Saudi's Bitch, both headlines in today's Drudge. ......... <--grains of salt.
-
Sorry bud. It's a topic and it deserves discussion. Back to the topic, I don't see Gaetz getting confirmed. He pissed off too many Rs with his Speaker battles, and other various clowning. The underage sex thing provides justification excuses. Other that pure loyalty to Trump, and there are tons of other acolytes he could have picked, why him? And whomever I made that beer bet with (4fans?, too lazy to look back) looks like "hackers" (aka, inside job) got the report and will leak it. SecDef is probably going to turn into a battle, but it was probably always going to be a battle because, well, Trump picked a complete outsider. Kennedy... smells like some sort of back room promise fulfillment. Or a plot to fire him 6 mo in and neuter his political life. Tulsi... why pick a former D? Aren't they always a D for life on the inside? As for the UKR issue, Biden not only pulled the gutter guards, he shouted out loud that he did. He could have done it without we/them knowing, but no. UKR has to be careful with the rules removed, lest they get an unintended reaction. Maybe Biden (his staff really) wants to hand Trump a gigantic can of can of worms with 2 forks and laugh, saying, good luck trying to unfuck this mess, MFer. October surprises are nothing, it'll be interesting how many January surprises Biden (his staff, really) unleashes just to fuck with Trump.

I support helping a country fight off an invasion by Russia. So far, there hasn't been any big spill and this thing has been going on for what, 2.5 yrs? It really has suppressed a supposed top tier world military and the affects will be felt for a generation. Another upside to providing support is it tells China that we're willing to help nations defend themselves, like Taiwan (different animal, but still a message). Lastly, we learned that porn is an effective tool to suppress N. Korean troops. Lets really develop that COA by getting a team together. Ukraine corruption. Seems like Z is attacking it where its found. But is it any more than any other entrepreneurial type taking advantage of the money train called war? They still seem to get enough funds to the front lines and the troops are still fighting for their motherland. I'm not saying its OK, just that Z is addressing some of it. Z tested the waters some with his drone strikes into Moscow. I think any strikes Z does with an unleashed US arsenal will likely be to really degrade the Russian military threat; bases, munition stores, POL, equipment, LOCs, even if they're deep. The Moscow strikes were psychological and probably not even effective at that, so why waste more effort on that. Even with a MOA-UKR-B, the likelihood of taking out Putin is low. 10Ks troops amassed? Turn em into 10Ks of graves filled.

If you think Russia is justified because they used to own it, would you support a Mexican invasion to retake W. Texas?

Just because a prosecutor declines charges doesn't always mean it didn't happen. Does anyone know WHY the DOJ chose not to prosecute Gaetz? Perp's status? Poor/incomplete investigation? Procescutor bias? Victim cooperation? Facts/witnesses sufficient to convince a jury? Politicians making deals to hold leverage? P. Diddy? Epstein/Trump connections? Aliens? Rhetorically, why doesn't Trump do his homework and pick someone who isn’t under investigation and maybe have some quals in justice? PS. Those last 3 excuses are sarcasm.

Go touch grass. You seem angry. Ha!

Fine. 1st unregistered sex offender AG. Feel better? Still like him as a person? A leader? Evidence: when the House releases the report, you'll have your proof. I bet a beer they will.
-
If he makes it thru confirmation, wouldn't he be the 1st registered sex offender as AG?

Commanders are dropping like flies this year

Shhh.. Don't wake him up. -
Generals just don't band together to intentionally disobey orders unless those orders are illegal, etc. There's a reason the term, "Adults in the room" was used extensively with Trump Part 1. Some probablythought ideas were coming from an 8 year old. Some of those adults probably felt discipline was needed, just like with children. As for military officers, our loyalty should be to our oath, not to the commander de jour. Last promotion ceremony I was at, I think those were the words I heard. Heatmiser as AG is dumb and he's the first clown named by Trump. if BlowBert gets a shot, she'll be the next clown.

I will say this. A seemingly Average Mil Joe* taking over is probably what we need, if confirmed. I expect nice fireworks at the confirmation if he gets that far. Bold move Cotton, let's see if it works out. Biff, you had a solid shot at the job. * I know absolutely nothing about the dude. Sounds like someone that's seen some shit, but not ranked up to the brainwashed/lobotomy tiers.

So far... Oh, and.. Trump announced he is nominating former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee as his U.S. ambassador to Israel.
-
I read something that said Biden felt dissed so when he withdrew, he named Kamala as a fuck you. I don't think he has enough brain left to do that, but the spin is fascinating.
-
There are a way whole lot of better people than Trump that can/would do pretty much anything he has promised. That's been my entire point for this election cycle.

Quibbling Sincerely, Mr Delusional

Just saw this lil item in the news in a local rag. "Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) has told President-elect Trump’s team he will not be accepting administration roles, despite being a top contender for positions including CIA director and Secretary of Defense, two sources familiar tell Axios."

Thanks Ace. Be sure to team with Gary for next personal attack versus trying to score points on intellect and clever thoughts. The Dynamic Duo strikes again.

I think it has more to do with Dems stepped on their dick big time and know it. Shoving a candidate down people's throat hasn't worked yet, but they keep doing it.
-
We usually never know if someone says no thanks. Mattis resigned and chose not to continue. While it's not the same, it does show that some people won't want to work in a Trump administration under the threat of getting fired, which pretty much ends their political life.
-
I can see types like Nikki, aka, not pure Trump loyalists, passing on a job because of Trump's propensity of firing people. And we miss out on some good people for a job.
