dang, nice house butters! oh wait, stock footage. after i get the whole finance situation figured out, and prolly as a UPT complete style reward, I'm gonna be looking into a Lotus elise/exige (depending on price, and how well the finance thing works itself out). they actually aren't super expensive, and they perform very well, and have a different style look.

passed through the other day. Dang that's a nice gym. And the hotel room was huge too. Only issue I had was that the shower wasn't big enough for 2... or one either for that matter, i kept hitting my elbow on the knob and got really hot or cold water accordingly.

VC-25 (AF One) and F-16s do some sightseeing...
AEWingsMN replied to LJ Driver's topic in General Discussion
WTF? Don't in form the public? WHY?!?! AF1 has come to town where I am a few times in the past few years. We always know ahead of time, and people are ready to take their own photo-ops of it landing. It's not like presidential visits are secret... and in that case the POTUS is on board too. Yet, nothing to hide. Why would this need to have been hidden? This was a needless scare. Don't know who made the decision not to notify people, so I'm not blaming anyone/agency specifically... but someone screwed up. And be honest... from that viewpoint, citizens see a grey shadow of a big plane. It's not like they are looking from the side and can see the blue paint. Especially in the distance when the thought first occurs of "oh shit that's low". And 9/11 isn't the only thing that's happened there recently. A large airliner went down just a few months ago.... shortly after 9/11 another airliner went down. No kidding the citizens were scared, it keeps happening there. Some how NYC seems to be the same type of hotbed for airliner crashes as Florida is for small plane crashes. -
M2, What porn were you looking for that brought you to that? Red Noses? Fricking Reindeer porn? Doesn't this belong with Beastiality in another thread?

so... you're laugh at what the new guy picked up from your ex-wife? J/K. What i don't get is that the army is getting their "all-in-one" system canceled while the air force is being told "Cut the 22, take more 35's and do the same thing you woulda done with the 22... just do it with 35s".... seems like an expensive version of hypocrisy

Agreed! So you state that you want WILL kill more of us. Why wait, here's a little taste of what you'll get if you do kill more! Now, don't do it... or we'll be back. What, is the Somali Government gonna declare war on us? Likely not since it doesn't exist. ... And give the French a chance, they may have won that battle, but they still have plenty of time to lose the war.... and ask us for help getting paris back from the pirates.

i got nothing wrong with giving the auto makers some money from the gov't..... as long as they do what they used to do in times of war when the gov't gave them some money... build us some damn airplanes!

evidently it IS fashionable for marines to wear their ABU equivelent to Disturbed/Killswitch Engage concerts. Bastards even picked up chicks with em too... I saw stranger things there too. like a guy in a Kung-Fu Panda full mascot constume. and I saw a chick wearing a Prom Dress style outfit. I thought that was kind of odd for the occasion. P.S. I know there is a thread that specifically discusses Navy Guys wearing their uniforms out to bars and what not, but I couldn't find it. This was the closest thing I could find.

As if Overseas Contingency Plan is any more specific to the mission. LOL, what a lame name. "A Contingency plan is a plan devised for a specific situation when things could go wrong. Contingency plans are often devised by governments or businesses who want to be prepared for anything that could happen." To quote Wikipedia (to which I was redirected to from dictionary.com ... does it make it more legit that way?) I think global war on terror sends an outward "we're all in this together" message and a "don't ###### with us" message. But hey, spending our time on naming/renaming shit is really worthwhile when the mission stays the same damn thing.

it was at that point at field training that I realized that it is worthless. I felt like I'd learned more about blue collar working than about leadership. 5 people out of the entire encampment were actually gaining anything worthwhile, and the rest were bitching and moaning about filling worthless sandbags. I actually feel that I may have been more productive during my POC years had I not gone to field training. Anyway, sorry to change the subject.

Obama administration asks for 10% military budget cut
AEWingsMN replied to Magnum's topic in Squadron Bar
Sounds like the Navy stole that name from Carnival Cruise lines. Either that or they're getting the ships second hand from Carnival! -
some friends of mine just got some at Patrick the other day. I believe I bought some at tyndall, but I may be wrong.

I stopped in at the local ABC... they had no clue about Jeremiah Weed, but they said they just got in a few varieties of "Sweet Tea Vodka"... evidently it's the new craze. They suggested I try a non-national liquor store (funny since they are the type that's attempting to eliminate those). Anyway, I did, and I said to the guy "I'm sure you've heard of Jeremiah Weed..." and he interrupted with "yeah, they got a new sweet tea coming out. I had the rep in this morning selling me on it. They don't sell the bourbon anymore, but I guess the sweet tea is going to be everywhere, I'll have some in next week". He said he just got some other stuff in for the first time too, and confirmed that sweet tea is picking up steam. I find it strange the bourbon is so hard to come by, yet the sweet tea will be everywhere. I guess they must figure that the only ones who will drink it is the military, and they will get it from the nearest base if they really want it. My family used to own a few liquor stores, and they said it used to be frequent, and then it disappeared. So much so that the guy at the local shop said he didn't think they made it anymore. But I guess the sweet tea will be easy to find.

did they figure it out when he went to do the "cough cough"... "Alright now, I just need to do a quick check down below, just get prepared, and I'll be over there in a minute" "Umm....." "is something wrong?....... oh, what the F...."

definitely possible. I actually think time becomes more constrained as a POC, but you definitely have learned how to manage your time better to make it work. As a GMC, I didn't work. I spent long hours with friends/beer/internet/video games and chasing females. Also while joining two EAs. As a POC, I managed 3 EAs, including higher level positions in one, a 20hr/week job, Senior Aerospace Engineering classes, all while having a girlfriend, still getting out with friends (usually via EA activities...), lots of video games, following sports teams, and Vice Wing commander. I also was able to dedicate myself to keeping fit too. It's completely feasible, if necessary, to work a job or two. Especially if you find one (unlike me) that gives you the opportunity to study on the job. Again, POC life seemed a ton busier, but you figure out where to cut the slack and make it work. The time management you learn the first few years comes in very handy. I found myself on the internet a lot less, though video games and sports became my release from everything else. If you feel yourself slipping, you have to be the first to notice the signs and cut the least necessary items.

URBAN MYTH: Military to Pledge Oath To Obama, Not Constitution

Usually when I say "Thanks for the re-post", I'm being sarcastic. In this case, I actually mean it, thanks for the reminder of the existence of that video!!

Interesting, in a different forums, I was looking for technical help with something just now. I went to make a thread, and they had a system in place that immediately after typing the thread title brought up similar threads for me to look through first. Cool concept I thought.

Obama administration asks for 10% military budget cut
AEWingsMN replied to Magnum's topic in Squadron Bar
"512 billion" so each of these individual bailouts we're giving is more than the entire DoD budget? Something seems screwed up here. -
note i have seen zero days of "real mil"... this was all ROTC. But did make for quite the laugh.

Brings back a field training memory of a fellow flight mate being told by the FTO that he needed to get out in the hall "right now" to answer a (somewhat serious) question, the FTO was quite pissed. After the cadets first retort of "I don't think that's gonna be possible right now" since we were in the midst of changing from Blues to PTs, the FTO demanded his immediate presence anyway. Very next thing the cadet was in the hall with blues shirt tucked into his pt shorts with garter straps still attached to black socks. FTO instantly forgot why he was pissed in the first place.
