  1. Absolutely. Generally people who steal motorcycles and crash them don't have a lot of recoverable assets or earnings potential, unfortunately. JAG won't be able to represent you but should be able to advise/point in the right direction.
  2. My plane has far more grease, hydro, and sharp edges than my desk. I think the mission planning wear is insignificant.
  3. https://www.flightglobal.com/blogs/the-dewline/2011/08/exclusive-us-air-force-combat.html + wikipedia/FAS/public loadouts B-2: 135k/hour - 16 GBU-31s -> 8.4K/DMPI B-52: 72k/hour - 12 GBU-31s -> 6K/DMPI but the powerpoint slides are free B-1: 63k/hour - 24 GBU-31s -> 2.6K/DMPI F-15E: 28k/hour - 5 GBU-31s -> 5.6K/DMPI F-16C: 19k/hour - 2 GBU-31s -> 9.5K/DMPI
  4. There's always the "local bases can be more restrictive" caveat. Many of the bases I've been to post it as "driving holding a cell phone is illegal " which removes the cops having to prove anything and would allow speakerphones only if in a dash mount, etc.
  5. Here's some brutal truth: if you read the VSP/RIF/many other threads on here, the AF can't even figure out how many hundreds of thousands of people it'll need next year, much less the number of WSO to pilot transitions in 2 years. Nobody on this board will give you a percentage because not even AFPC knows. Strike eagle guys go through the same boards as everyone else as well. The best method of planning for the future is to do what everyone has been advising you; since timing is everything, being the best you can be keeps the door open to jump on the opportunities when they pop up, whether it be UPT, WIC, TPS (yes WSOs can do the last 2 although they got their jobs due to poor grades), or just the sweet liason tour in Germany.
  6. Isn't Ambien/Dex regulated at a higher level (i.e, usage between you and the flight docs since it has to be approved by WG/CC or higher depending on the situation)?
  7. Does subsonic ammo cycle the action reliably? Only ever used it in revolvers.
  8. If only there were some document that we all swore to uphold that specifically listed the things that the government was authorized to spend money on and what's just my opinion. Everyone also has an opinion on how to fly against an SA-XYZ but one way hopefully gets you home and the other way probably won't.
  9. Don't confuse being religious with being a busybody...plenty of Mormons and Baptists in the squadron who have fun hanging out (and DDing).
  10. Those of us who don't agree will either be RIFed or not selected for command due to not toeing the party line. Stuff like this has a way of self perpetuating.
  11. 2 in the heart, 1 in the mind...
  12. Not a tax lawyer but usually they send a separate W2 on mypay for your moving payment. Whatever year the form has is probably what you should go with since thats what the IRS sees.
  13. Most of us know (or should know) the need for OPSEC/discretion on social media, but it's a little unreasonable to expect that TheMan would be checking the TwitFaceSpace of random travelers - a little different than saying it in an airport, etc.
  14. 2. I'm sure the MX guy didn't turn the video in to the CFACC.
  15. Or both SQ patches that are masters complete could get marked down in favor of d-bags...
  16. ARMS is the enlisted career field that updates the system you mentioned. They work at the ops desks in the SQs so they track the AFTO781/other misc record keeping paperwork. For callsigns, either use Brabus's suggestion, or just divide it equally. If a 4-ship shows up on the boom, just divide the total offload by 4 - like others have said, 8k vs 10k is probably within the margin of error of both the tanker and receiver fuel gauges anyway.
  17. Any objection to looking up tail numbers afterwards? Tails are needed to uniquely identify a certain jet. Callsigns on a specific day do the same. 1. Boom writes down 20k @ time X to Mudhen69, 10k to Viper69, etc, etc. along with whatever tails him or the copilots can deduce on some type of daily flight log. Completes A/R without needing to clog up radio asking for tail numbers. 2. Hands log to ARMS with rest of paperwork on landing, ARMS calls receiver ARMS and says "what tail flew Viper69 on this day"? 3. Tanker ARMS sends log with tails and fuels to WRDCO. Big Blue can track fuel flow by tail # and everyone is happy.
  18. Why not track by callsign since you already know it (if you have contaminated fuel, call the ops desk associated with that callsign and tell them you need to let xxx call know about the fuel). If the bean counters really need it, they can call the receiver ARMS and ask for the tail # that flew on a certain date/callsign.
  19. Some reflective belt buffoonery from Foreign Policy magazine: https://ricks.foreign..._reflector_belt
  20. We did on the nav side at least (took off VFR only for the low-level rides since it was needed anyway).
  21. If you have any near you that you can get up close to and find a manufacturer/model # with FCC ID (or subpoena them for it) you can look it up here: https://transition.fcc.gov/oet/ea/fccid/ and get tech data, schematics, etc. For a RF device like that, they'd probably have a beam pattern in the submitted test results. If it isn't FCC certified then they may have worse problems: https://www.thenewspaper.com/news/25/2502.asp
  22. As long as his leadership backed him up and didn't believe E-6>O-3 when said individual was ignored and ran to their boss.
  23. '2' Many dudes will probably decide to continue with theirs anyway - even if Gen. Welsh takes over tomorrow and eliminates AADs, todays midgrade captains will be a year from their major's board when the next one takes over and reverses the decision, throwing those who relied on the word of their leadership into a last minute crunch. Similar to a few SQ/CCs who will fight for SOS slots w/o correspondence but still advise their guys to get it done anyway in case they PCS to a base without that policy.
  24. AF support was run through Tyndall back when all training at Pcola was Navy - probably since it was the closest AETC base.
