I side with you. I want to do our fair share but I don't feel like anyone else is willing to do so. They don't have the proper frame of reference. We have a force used to being used/abused more so than any other generation. On the same hand we have a general population that is completely out of phase with us. Even if the COLA reduction could be used to prevent further reduction in military ability I don't trust it will be used that way. The different pot of money argument runs out at this point. What if the earned income tax credit were reduced by 500? How much would we save? At the end of the day we need a budget. The COLA argument is fair but until everyone in this country can stand up and do their fair share I won't agree. What exactly is a fair share? I don't know but I feel like my short tour return date earns me exactly the retirement we have now... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I guess the '04 year group is safe? Something tells me that there will be another round next year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

2 percent sounds like a good deal provided it has nothing to do with voluntary separation pay or separation pay should it come to that which I think it will. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As if commanders don't have enough on their mind they now have this to contend with this? I disagree with this proposal as the fact that I am an Air Force officer subject to unlimited liability under the UCMJ I believe that any commander that I have had or will have has the intestinal fortitude to consult with the SJA and either enforce or suspend the judgment handed down upon the accused. As such I think commanders discretion should be honored. Striking down the law as it exists opens up a can of worms... We might as well abandon the UCMJ and prosecute under civil law exclusively. Oh yeah, how do we do that when we are in shit-hole-astan? Military justice as it appears to me does not favor the accused... If only we could keep our hands to ourselves...

China creates new air defense zone in East China Sea

First crew to state due regard in the zone deserves a round -
Sounds like you know a thing or two. I've tried B2 for the last two years. Denied for critical manning... U28 dude... Sorry that I thought being a prior B1 dude with AFSOC stink would be a good thing. I didn't even bother this year with orders to Cannon. Aloha had the support of some great senior leadership and I am drooling over his Facebook pics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The topic is laughable at best. Overheard at a training session. "What are some ways to improve resilience?" Answer: "stop deploying me on a 1:1 dwell for years on end with no end in sight." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So is the 2006 year group also having their board delayed by a year? Or is it meeting the same time as the 2005 year group? I'm in the 04 year group so just asking to know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This... As it was explained to me when my senior rater handed out PRFs it was a way to communicate exactly this.

I remember asking for the Sitka crash brief from my squadron safety officer. Of course the safety officer had no clue as to why it would be beneficial to my community but after the brief it was abundantly clear how our small plane community could learn a thing or two with greater knowledge. Proof of this was a CT line I flew where I flew a pretty aggressive tactical approach. My co pilot asked if I had seen the very brief I requested to be shown to the squadron. I told the young co I had and that I had flown the approach in accordance with all parameters in the vol 3. We had a lengthy discussion about the vol 3 and other -1 limitations. Case in point, a brief that had nothing to do with the plane we fly stimulated a co enough to think about how we do business. I think that is a victory. I asked for the recent -135 mishap from a wing safety person who had to fight the establishment in order to present it. After the last 9 years as a rated aviator I don't understand the close hold nature MAJCOMS have with regard to incidents. If someone bent an aircraft or in the worst case scenario there was a loss of life I don't understand why we all don't at least talk about it

All right come on SEA you stirred up a hornet's nest so why don't you post something of substance. We are all ears/eyes. Surely you didn't just join a predominately Air Force forum to kick some sand in our eyes without contributing. Out with it! Otherwise you are a useless troll amongst 100+ that have frequented here in the 11 years I've hung around.

I would hope a senior enlisted advisor would have better grammar. I do agree with the entitlement comment but not for pilots exclusively. The entitlement problem runs rampant through all the ranks. Entitlement is different than respect. Entitlement allows NCOs / Airmen to correct officers in public over stupid uniform errors. If you are a senior enlisted advisor I hope that you tell your fellow senior enlisted that none of us mind being corrected. We do mind the manner in which you do correct us. Praise in public correct in private, somehow that tenet of leadership has missed the latest generation.

Sounds similar to bros educating others to zip every zipper possible or you will get an earful. Is there a chance that the OGV guy was just trying to look out for the crew dogs?

Report Slams Military's Recent Camouflage Uniforms
Skitzo replied to GearDownNoGreen's topic in General Discussion
Okay, so explain what meets your criteria for wearing a badge on your uniform. Some people deserve to get attention for what they do and others not? After 9+ years of wearing some sort of aeronautical badge on my uniform, I decided to continue that, so yes I had an extra piece of Velcro sewn on my uniform. Felt wrong without it, kind of like flying without a coin. Call me superstitious.
