  5. I had a VA IRRL lined up with Wells Fargo at 3.75, USAA was prior lender. They stipulated an appraisal that I would not meet. I guess I'm lucky USAA was willing to refi at 4.0 I close on Friday

Correct other Airmen who violate standards 4.1.5. Clearly meet, and strive to exceed, the standards and expectations levied upon junior enlisted Airmen. Epitomize excellence and lead by example through exhibiting professional behavior, military bearing, respect for authority, and the highest standards of dress and appearance. Instill professional behaviors in subordinates. Correct those who violate standards. So who are we (the officers) to blame them (the enlisted) for correcting us? It says in the doctrine for their careers exactly what they are doing. By allowing the AF/CCC to publish this manifesto we are asking for it. Correcting "those" and correcting Airmen are just as important are just as important to the Air Force as other qualities. We are raising them this way. The funny thing is in the same section it talks about duty to correct it also addresses military bearing and respect for authority and mentions those first and foremost which means to me if you can't ask to have a word with me in private to correct my violation in private you have broken your bearing and failed at respecting authority. Can't wait to out shoe'em all with this...might print it out and stuff it in my pocket

  11. I think the heritage patch issue is a USAF heraldry institute problem. Back in the day I was wearing this patch And then word came down from on high that since it did not have rocker on the bottom it would have to be changed. Nevermind that was THE patch for over half of a century, it didn't have a rocker. I believe every squadron patch has to be vetted by those guys. Thank god they prevailed this is much better
  12. The time to commit to one class at a time from AMU is not unmanageable for me and I have three kids under 3 and a wife. If I were you I would research a program, decide on a course of action and start. Now I am going to be doubletapping classes in a hope to get done before the all important rack and stack. My board may be next year but the powers that be will rack and stack us well prior to the board and probably prior to PRFs being due. So hopefully April is soon enough to count.
  13. HRT is prohibiting the wear of the commando hat. WIE UFN. The reasoning is that there is no wear guidance in the shoe clerk vol 3
  14. I agree about monitoring our own but I do remember hearing a senior Captain talking about a Lt Col DO type who told him (who was a UPFM at the time) that his score was 85, and that he needed it recorded COB that day.

  17. They aren't going to go back to the old way, it will be like piss test duty, one squadron will pony up the manpower for a week/month whatever. I would love to actually run at some place other than the track though, I hate the track.
  18. I thought the allocation was per year group, so a CGO and an FGO are not in competition with one another. We are in competition with each other in the same year group. I know of a Major with SOS DG along with other impressive strats that got an R. I think if anything is more likely it is more likely that they wanted to give more DRs to folks who are in "non critically manned" career fields. It seems like they are banking on rated guys not getting cut. We'll see, either way the RRFs are in, the board has met and your career has been decided. Press on till you get whatever the news is and worry about what you can control... which is pretty much nothing but your attitude and how you respond to the next crap sandwich.
  19. I'd do correspondence until you are physically at SOS. Sure the goal is 100% attendance but what happens when the AU budget gets raped and we only send half? Correspondence will return as a discriminator. It's like getting a masters degree, no matter what they tell you get it done.
  20. In my wing retain meant bottom 25% whether or not to be worried would be based on how many of your year group get do not retains in comparison to the stated quota. Either way, everyone should always be afraid and have options.

  24. Overemphasis of alcohol related incidents. I'm not saying people should drink and drive or become belligerent but people don't seem to be getting the benefit of the doubt. I'm beggining to think that you could call a cab to take you home because you were responsible and the cab gets into an accident, it will be labeled an ARI.
  25. Simple solution, instead of every officer being a line officer unless you are a doctor or a lawyer we divide it out like the Navy. Unrestricted Line Officer and Restricted Line Officer. Quit comparing a services officer to an aviator / operator.
