  1. Yes. It was called "IFT." Wasn't the precursor to IFT, T-3s at Hondo? Like a dog chaising it's tail.
  2. Experiences vary wildy. I saw many students with "hurt feelings" get washed out.
  3. And if you graduated with > 3.5? Then it comes down to what Muscle said.
  4. Very hard to say. If your B.S. GPA is 3.0-3.5, I would definitely begin work on the masters after UPT, of course. Online is fine. Doing well in pilot training trumps getting a masters any day of the week.
  5. Yep. These students might not fail out of the new style of UPT, but they will most certainly fail out of the B-course and go to an FEB.
  6. There are a lot of variables you can't control when applying for TPS, but control what you can. When able, start work on an engineering masters. If you have poor grades in some areas, considering attempting to retake those classes online. Apply early and apply often. Many, many people get in on their second or third try. Waivers for # of flight hours do get approved. So if you don't meet the minimums, don't let that discourage you from applying. Waivers for time in service are much more difficult to get approval for.
  7. And with any luck, those jets wouldn't kill you.
  8. Non-fighter, I'm sure.
  9. It's so funny to watch the dominos fall when one PIC has the balls to call it.
  10. You guys didn't carry a tube of beer for just such an ocassion?
  11. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Founding_Fathers_of_the_United_States#Education Most went to college, several were lawyers, and only 4 were self-taught or had little formal education. Also, the founding fathers created the judiciary branch so that lawyers could interpret the constitution for the lay people....
  12. Yeah, but there is a line. You aren't allowed to own your own fighter and an inventory of Mk 82s either... as much fun as that would be. I don't think banning bump stocks would do much anyways. You can bump fire with a belt loop, and you can make minor mods to turn a semi-auto AK-47 into full auto (sort of..).
  13. Some squadrons are better than others, but I wouldn't say that mindset is near death though.
  14. Same thing was happening in 2010.
  15. The IG system does seem to be way broken. Way too much good ole boy network and not enough impartial investigations.
  16. Ah the ultra high fast flyer. DCA red air just got a whole lot more fun.
  17. Ultimately, this change being good or bad will now rest at the wing level. There will be commander's who do great things with it, and there will be those who royally screw it up. At least with a board, it was the sum input of all of your raters up to that point. Heaven help you if you aren't the anointed one by your current leadership.
  18. I can't see the policy change for school selection not blowing up in the Air Force's face. It's just too big of a change in the rules of the game to implement so hastily, and only causes more uncertainty...
  19. When does that get announced?
  20. I thought you were talking about Salvatore Giunta at first. Same deal. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvatore_Giunta
  21. These studies have already been done. In summary, fighter pilots score low on agreeableness. https://publicaccess.dtic.mil/psm/api/service/search/search?site=default_collection&q=pilot+mab# https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15892544
  22. I guess that gouge worked out for Brabus
  23. Classic bureaucrat concerned only with solving the bureaucracy's own problems.
