I've been trying to find a nice watch that has atomic timekeeping and tritium glow hands but a can't find one to save my life. I just had a thought though: Does the tritium interfere with the atomic time radio signal? That might explain why I'm having such a hard time finding a watch with that combination.

Seriously, they probably weren't even fixing anything. He probably saw them face down in their phones (verizon phones of course) and lost it.

Stealth81, thanks that wasn't exactly it but that helped me find it (it's a longer show about that same "Alpha 525 Incident")! Here it is for free (not quite the whole thing though): https://www.liveleak.com/view?i=328_1318039652 Or on Amazon, it's "Combat Zone Season 1, Episode 2: A Tight Spot" (whole thing but it costs 2 bucks): https://www.amazon.com/Combat-Zone-Season-1/dp/B017344JX4

Trying to find the name of, or a link to, an old Nat Geo/Discovery channel style documentary about some Green Berets who were scouting out a road in Iraq when some farmer's kids found 'em and called the Iraqi Army in on their position. Just so happened there was a flight of F-16s going by who heard their cries for help on the radio and cluster bombed the fuck out of the Iraqis right as they were moving in on the friendly position. This came up in conversation today. I remember seeing it as a kid clear-as-day but I can't find it for the life of me now. Googled the crap out of it but no luck, just a bunch of cell phone video of GWOT stuff and one about a guy who used a sonic boom to help some Brit SAS guys get out of a fire fight. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Indeed. I really hope there were some folks out there who got that assignment but rushed a guard unit/played the game well enough to get the assignment they originally wanted which brings us to this:

Then there were those poor guys in the 09-11 days who chose to fight like Clark in Danger41's post and track 38s only to get to drop night and get a damn drone. Must have felt like this:

That must have been one hell of a climax -

Fast forward 2 weeks, we find out it was a meth lab explosion caused by one of the employees trying to "borrow" some of the facilities for some overtime work. It is the pan handle of Florida we're talking about after all... -

They were trying to simulate the climate of Arizona right now. (Only joking cuz it says no one was hurt) -

A combination of letters and numbers that shouldn't exist outside of satire. Can't believe there wasn't a star somewhere who could sign off on a trade of assignments to some other studs somewhere who wanted it. I bet that stigma followed those guys too.

Nevermind, found the answer to my question:

Dude they're gonna be dropping from here on out. *in a general sense anyway, B-Course schedule/timing permitting, as is the way for any airframe.

Yes to all of those last three posts in my opinion. I say cyber and space go there own way but we also double up on the importance of the joint and specialized missions mentality. It will complicate things, but it will also allow each organization to have a better identity and focus, something I think has been rather vague since the end of the cold war. It would be nice for the Air Force to refocus itself on combat aviation and distance the association with the space cadets and cyber nerds (gotta love em though). There would be a lot less "nonners" in the ranks and I think the average airman would be more proud of the Air Force identity and uniform. Back to a sense of humor though, what the hell kind of rank structure and basic training/field exercises would those guys do anyway?

What do you think about a Space Corps? https://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/u-s-lawmakers-formally-propose-a-space-corps-air-force-1796352188 Recently released concept video from congress:

Also the back seat of the T-X would allow for incentive rides that the F-35 couldn't offer. Hopefully it happens as soon as the T-X is online. It would sure be nice to have those Block 52s freed up for combat.

Not sure what you're trying to fly or where you are trying to get hired but guard tanker units right now are generally welcome to the idea of age waivers for prior service guys. During my year at Laughlin, I met two prior service Army pilots who got hired by tanker units with age waivers. Also one was a captain and needed a commissioned service waiver since he was commissioned in another branch for more than 5 years. Very strange rule, not sure why it exists but it seems pretty easy to get waived.

Can anybody expand on this news?: https://www.janes.com/article/71414/usaf-increases-scope-of-f-16-slep-to-include-more-aircraft-and-airframe-hours It should be noted that in the release the article refers to, it states "up to" and "a maximum of" etc., not some kind of specific plan for that many jets and that many hours: https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=32c057a1afc8eccb60621d77f0f890ba&tab=core&_cview=0 I wonder how this will impact the purchase of F-35s. As a side note, "13,856 hours" , that's a oddly specific number of hours, they shoulda just said: "about 13,869 hours or something crazy like that".
