Haha, where is that dipshit anyhow? Haven't heard his take on how awesome this FM program is going. I'm guessing he's deeply involved with it, hence the reason it is going so well!

Hick, thanks for the info man. It's amazing that the only useful info regarding anything personnel related comes from BODN. I will try to contact my mpf and see if they can find the actual status. I sure hope it's moving along although deep down I know it is sitting on a desk collecting dust. Phuckers! My ISR said she couldn't see anything more than I can. Not sure if truth or lazy? I would say that it all depends. You've probably read through this entire thread and seen the same trends that I'll talk about. Functional votes seem to not play a big part. I would say that typically it was the AFSC and amount of ADSC that really mattered. Last year, I was hesitant to apply because I felt that with over a year of ADSC remaining at DOS my chances were 50/50 at best. I figured that inside a year they were likely 75% or better (just guessing with my numbers). With the current situation regarding force management, anybody can guess what is good or bad regarding likelihood of approval. To be honest, right now seems to be the best I've ever seen in regards to PC and I would apply even with the 5 yrs remaining, as long as you have a decent resume to feed the family when you punch. You being an 11S have probably amasses a decent amount of flight time over the past 5 years. Where you headed to with the PC?

Just talked with a Mypers rep. She said that they are running about 1.5 months behind on PC apps due to the FY 14 PC program. She said new apps arriving now should expect 10-20 weeks for approval (as mentioned in this thread). She also said that my status would not change from "referred to AFPC PC (DPSOR) until it is approved or denied. Frankly, I trust the gouge I get off of BODN more than what AFPC tells me so time will tell. I also asked the question regarding DOS, "if I apply as far out as I can, 180 days, and it takes you 20 weeks to approve the app once it arrives at AFPC, I could get approval inside of 30 days to separate. Doesn't that seem wrong to give someone no time to outprocess or prepare for a monumental life change?" The response was " that's how it is." What a fukking train wreck AFPC is. Sad as he'll that this is part of the US military. Can you imagine how laughable it is when someone from AFPC gets confronted by a stranger and thanked for their military service? Give me a break.

If I didn't have the PC in the system, I would definitely drop the VSP. I think 04 dudes might luck out, considering most of us thought we were ineligible right off the bat due to being new Majors. As for manning requirements, all I can do is laugh. I tried desperately to get released from AFSOC over the past few years but was told how much I was needed. Somehow when my PC app hits the Wg/cc desk manning is fine and he recommends approval! If he would have released me from AFSOC any time in the past I likely would have stayed in. Who's driving the clown car? Truth! We're already in and waiting. As tempting as it is to switch to a VSP, I feel pretty good about the PC approval odds. I don't even care about the money right now- I just want parole! That parole, like you said, allows you to avoid a 365. Why are we still doing these?

Thanks for the info on how the process should go. Did you see those statuses change in CMS or did those movements happen internally? I'll try calling again tomorrow and see if get any answers. I appreciate the help.

I didn't expect a return call or a live person at AFPC. My expectations with AFPC are very low and they are yet to exceed them. Hopefully the PC apps keep moving along as quickly as they did in March- I expect the VSP and TERA apps to bog down the cubicles next door but I would think the one PC guy would just keep doing his own thing? My PC app flew through the Sq and Wg and arrived at AFPC on 11 March (with recommends from Sq/Wg). The status since then has shown "AFPC PC office (DPSOR)." I am guessing this means sitting on a desk untouched for the last four weeks? Thought? When does does it go to the AFSOC functional? Once this status changes, how fast should I expect it to move?
-
10-20 weeks sounds like complete BS, and I would expect nothing less from good 'ole AFPC! My app went in about a week before yours and arrived at AFPC on 11 Mar. I called last Friday but got no info and a transfer to an answering machine at the PC office. No return call- I'm shocked. If I hear any words to confirm what you heard I will post them. If it really takes that long, my transition will be a nightmare and I might miss my training class with the Reserves. I'm tempted to just cnx the PC and submit a VSP CONSIDERING THIS WEEK I appear to be eligible. Clownshow.

I stopped paying any serious attention to this VSP debacle months ago and stayed focused on PC. However, after seeing a couple guys get good news today I decided to read the current flavor of PSDM related to Officer VSP and noticed the absence of one damning detail; the "promotion list" or "1yr time in grade" details that initially excluded the 2004 year group is long gone. If I am reading this right, 2004 11X (non 11F) guys are now eligible. Any 2004 11x dudes apply? Is it possible to apply for VSP with a current application in for PC? I think you can only apply to separate once (at a time). It would be nice to stack a list of concurrent separation requests alongside my stack of ADSC's. -
^^^Butters- you just need to have a form 8 showing that you were a military instructor pilot. Multi type will buy you the MEI, Single will get you the CFI, and either should get you the CFII (instrument). Many folks won't get the CFI due to most mil aircraft being ME. I also had the FSDO ask for paperwork from my ground school IPUG course (which I didn't have and was able to talk my way out of).

Nope. I used the very basic calculator given to me at the test site and it was more than enough. Any of the questions really requiring an E-6B you should have already memorized. Sheppard Air test prep is awesome. Good luck

FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)

2!!! Sadly, and all kidding aside, I just submitted an application with Delta yesterday. No where near as exciting as the day I dropped my app for OTS. Times sure change, don't they? Sad. -
Once upon a time I was, hence the username. If you've read my posts, you've certainly captured my hatred for all things TAMI. I was a victim and was routed to AFSOC to serve out my sentence for no apparent crime. Thought about changing it a while back, but enjoyed pissing off Chang with the 69 suffix.

Congrats!! When did you submit your PC application? Was UPT your only ADSC?

Always wanted to use that red -1 button!!!

Palace Chase application finally submitted! The only thing that will make me happier is when it comes back approved and I move off this sinking ship. For folks that are curious and gathering PC stats, I'm a 04 yg major, 11S, requesting 1 month off TA & 9/11 GI, 8 months off UPT, and 11 months off of AFT. Lot of ADSCs, but not much time left. For everyone that gave feedback/advice above, thank you very much. Mario, any specific guidance or reg on that bonus. If this PC gets approved I'm certainly interested in a little bonus. Being as I am at least one foot out the door, I fully expected the AF would make me eligible for a VSP and pay me on my way out. The opposite of what makes sense is usually how these things go.

What a great man and great leader! I wonder where he got his online Master degree done at?
-
This whole conversation makes me laugh uncontrollably! ...so I'm guessing leadership is now frowning at the 300~ish fighter pilots that they raped with bigfoots dick (TAMI) circa 2007. What about the numerous chapters in VSP/RIF shit-showery that we have had, and are currently experiencing? How bout the guys like me that watched those 157 Majors get screwed a few years ago- that sure weighs into my decision making calculus regarding the best way forward as I approach my ADSC expiration! We can max out training, create guard tenet units, ramp up FTU production or even crossflow the geniuses at AFPC to come fly jets- that ain't gonna fix shit when folks on the retainment end are jumping off the sinking ship in droves! It's like filling up a bathtub with the drain wide open. It's going to get a lot worse before it gets better. For those 11F's still hanging around, get your ATP done because rumor has it Southwest is opening another window in the fall. Now back to your regular scheduled program, "What's wrong with the Air Force?"

FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)

...but a washing machine actually does it's job! -
Any advice on the Palace Chase memo that we are supposed to submit with our application? Curious to hear what guys are putting on that memo- especially from the guys recently approved for PC? I have one memo written that is pretty quick and to the point while the other version goes into a rant better suited to BODN. Thoughts? Congrats! You give me great hope. I'm an 11f turned 11s '04 major asking for 11.69 months off AFT ADSC. Things are trending in the right direction with PCs.

FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)
Vprdrvr69 replied to AOF_ATC's topic in General Discussion
Ahhhh, the shitshow unfolds. Funny thing is I have spent so much time ranting about how this Force Management measure would certainly rise to the same level of comical ineptitude as the last. Too bad I have to reassure young guys in the squadron not to worry about a RIF because I have seen this debacle unfold before. Every older dude I know is reading the fine print trying to figure out how to be eligible and GTF out! AFPC, you never fail to amaze me. Why have we not completely eliminated AFPC? I can take a civilian into combat zones but I have a ing clown-show shoe clerk wearing a uniform, sitting in a cubicle devising these RIF debacles every other year. Makes sense- why can't we outsource AFPC to a civilian HR company? They really couldn't do any ing worse. you AFPC. The vMPF webpage is running about as well as HealthCare.gov . I can't get very far without error messages blocking my way to submitting a separation app. I can always hope that tomorrows PSDM will make me eligible. Motherfukkers! Chang, once again great job. Please jump back in anytime with your words of wisdom and inspiration. Liquid, perhaps you couldn't understand why we are so jaded and have so little trust left in our leaders. Tell me you are taking notes and viewing this colossal mess from the same vantage point that we are. -
Congrats! My packet goes in within a month- you give me hope.

Sadly, this is so true with few exceptions. When I PCS'd out to Cannon, Gen Elton (Col then) was the Wg/CC. Aside from being in Clovis, I was happy to work in a low key base with excellent leadership. He was one of the best I've seen in AFSOC. Not to mention it got me away from the 1SOW and the incredible leadership combo we had down there with Slife taking the reins. What we saw today with that memo regarding 36-6903 uniform policy was par for the course around the 27th nowadays. Who needs morale boosting when you live in Clovis anyhow?
-
Even the little things cannot get fixed in my little corner of the world. Absolutely amazing that even when big AF makes an attempt to fix morale by adjusting the little things, Group and/or Wing leadership still continues to embrace the suck. Just posted at FOB Cannon: 1) Effective immediately, all members will adhere to the new AFI 36-2903 with the following restrictions: - Sand shirts only - No morale patches on shoulders - No morale patches on left sleeve Velcro (pen tab) - No morale Friday nametags So exactly what is the new change? Now I get choice of sock color with my PT uniform? UFB but to be completely expected. Now to get back to my interview prep study time.

FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)
Vprdrvr69 replied to AOF_ATC's topic in General Discussion
The one that I love the most is for FGO Personnelists. 2001 YG is looking to cut 50 people with 36 eligible! Good luck and thank god. Maybe this will help reduce the AFPC debacle of 2016! 2004 11S's still getting hosed, not that I am surprised. I'll keep the countdown to terminal leave ticking away on my Ipad.
