  1. Agreed! Diamond Dave is a legend. I casually use several phrases from that video in normal conversation and it's funny when some young zoomer kid who hasn't seen it looks at me like, "WTF are you talking about?" Relevant because the R9X has some ninjy-swords that pop out and cut things to pieces at impact vice exploding. Sounds about perfect for separating a payload from a sneaky Chicom balloon. Now I just gotta figure out how to get my Reaper up to FL 690 to take the shot...
  2. I volunteer to down a balloon with an AGM-114R9X. Ninjy stars!
  3. 🤷‍♂️ despite our flaws I think our country is great, I’m hopeful for the future, and I want our military to remain strong and our opponents to remain weak. Not sure why that’s really a controversial opinion.
  4. I mean it was a bit tongue in cheek, but yea, I mean Hitler offed himself in a bunker like a coward and the Japanese emperor got down off his throne and surrendered onboard the Missouri. If they didn’t like it they should have been better at war Some of y’all are really down some weird rabbit holes about how America sucks and is the bad guy and it’s all a conspiracy and “they” want you to believe this or that. It’s just really strange on a board supposedly populated mostly by military aviators…
  5. 😂 Dude, I work for the government. I’m in the vault watching stuff happen, sometimes live. I am the “they.” Are you? Or were you? Go with quals. I will again remind everyone that you come off as a fundamentally unserious person. Ps what caused that bender you went on the other night?? Ambien and whiskey are a hell of a combination from what I understand! ”…they could tell you that we need to have effects in the HOA” MFer we DID have very noticeable “effects” in the HOA last week and let’s just say I’m extremely familiar with the purpose for the operation and the results of it. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/26/us/politics/isis-leader-us-somalia-raid.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare
  6. Spot the lie though. Yea, lots of screw ups when we feel squirrelly and go on adventures (Vietnam & OIF primarily IMHO), but did we not go from mid to global hegemon for nearly 80 years running? I’d rather be us than anyone else by far, and that has been the case for my entire life plus the entire lives of my parents as well. Again, not bad!
  7. I mean it kind of has? We went from among the world powers but not the leader to the unquestioned #1, enemies cowering at our knees as we occupied their countries. Then we made staunch allies out of our former enemies (German, Japan & Italy) and helped unite Europe and essentially end great power conflict on the continent until last year. Russia rose and fell mostly without a shot and they’re an asspain now but as we’re seeing a bit of a paper tiger. China has grown up tremendously but they’re not there yet. BLUF: we’re still #1 almost 80 years later. We’re economically, culturally, and militarily the world’s most important nation. Not bad IMHO!
  8. To you, it means nothing to you. Luckily you have a very significant minority opinion among regular Americans. Even better, thankfully you and people like you aren't in charge of our foreign policy, because you'd just hang a country and it's people out to dry in order to be violently invaded by it's neighbor & one of our chief geopolitical foes. How about instead we do what we've been doing, support the Ukrainian people, kneecap the Russian military and Putin's dreams of a renewed Russian Empire, and safeguard a democratic and peaceful Europe once the Russian's inevitably slink back home bloodied and defeated.
  9. I honestly have no idea who or what you are talking about when you reference “Sims.” 🤷‍♂️
  10. Draco was a great community in AFSOC and it was always a challenge in a good way. I wouldn’t trade my time as a young guy there for any other job in the Air Force. Plus the U-28 airframe is getting replaced by this, so if that excites ya, even better. I knew one guy that cross-flowed from Draco to C-146s and he was happier than a pig in shit. Can’t speak to the community or plane myself but one piece of anecdata FWIW. Good luck!
  11. Dude, we get it, you hate poor people, you don’t need to bring it up in every thread regardless of the context. Live look at filthy and his friends casting dispersion on the poors…
  12. Because you are a ridiculous person to try to talk to on here and I’ve given up trying to take you seriously.
  13. I’m again here to remind folks that the DNC/RNC are not wizards behind the curtain pulling strings. Speaking if the DNC specifically, the Chairman is Jamie Harrison, who was nominated by Biden himself. Why on earth would he “oust” an incumbent President who he strongly supported? How would he do so? There is no mechanism for that to happen. That’s now how this works, that’s not how any of this works. On both sides of the aisle, the individual presidential candidates and their campaigns have tremendous power, more so than the parties. They raise more, spend more, and control more. As evidence on the GOP side, I give you the Trump 2016 campaign.
  14. https://www.wsj.com/articles/fbi-to-search-mike-pences-home-for-additional-classified-materials-11675356965 FBI in talks to schedule an additional search of Pence's home. Just like with Biden. Pence can continue living at his home in the meantime, his lawyer did the original search that turned up classified, etc. No conspiracy, just cooperation. It's weird that when you're not a belligerent asshole who ignores subpoenas you don't get raided. If you cooperate with an investigation like this, things can be a bit more gentlemanly. Pence is getting treated exactly like Biden has (other than the special counsel at least so far), and IMHO there's nothing fishy about it at all. Trump was treated differently because he acted very differently when the Archives & FBI started asking questions.
  15. This has not at all been my experience. Shit, I have even had what I thought was unimpeachably clear regs on my side AND local leadership (up to WG/CC) support and STILL got stymied by some f-ing bean counter in between the 4-star and local O-6 level. YMMV I guess, but I have seen zero evidence that a vague memo from on high stating “take calculated risks” and “innovate the process” will help you one iota if you are a squadron, group, or wing level bro trying to do exactly that and run into the blob and some reason why you can’t do what you are trying to do. I applaud AMC/CC’s intent on pushing innovation and motivation and even coming at things a bit like the Tasmanian devil. Occasionally that’s needed. Occasionally. My biggest quibble is wishcasting a major war with China in a specific year. That is WAY outside his lane and I’m sure the subject of some feedback he’s received. Senior officers are inherently also diplomats and his memo wasn’t exactly diplomatic. Deterrence through strength is priority #1. You win 100% of wars you don’t have to fight because your opponents and competitors back down before becoming true enemies. The “fire a clip…head shots only” is just extra hilarious because you have to hit center of mass in order to even qual down at the range 😅 Yeeting the pallet of drones from a KC-135 gets my stamp of approval, but mostly because I’m a drone guy and my best friend is a tanker pilot and I’d love to Team America against a horde of random bad guys like we joked about back in high school 🇺🇸 Not sure it can happen by end of Q1 2023 but hey, go for it and I’ll volunteer to help if they’re taking randos from the peanut gallery.
  16. Good call, gunship pilots get spatial D'd if they turn right. Better make it a left 270 just to be safe 😅
  17. Kind of haha
  18. We absolutely should have preference or ranked-choice voting in every election nationwide. It takes a bit of additional voter education, but it enables more nuanced preferences of the electorate to be expressed.
  19. Look, your knowledge of religion in general seems low, as does your specific understanding of the Catholic church. Thanks for telling me that Protestants and Catholics are both Christians though. I'm not seeing a ton of value in engaging with you on this anymore. Here's my debrief: DFP: there's a lack of the baseline knowledge required to progress IF: get back in the books Overall: it must be Tuesday because this one's gonna be a taco, and you can try the ride again next time with a different IP. Good luck.
  20. It doesn't bother me at least after understanding the purpose of why a company would do that. Phone number verification is much stronger to ensure you are a real person and not a bot. It's super easy to generate tons of free email addresses, sign up for accounts, overwhelm the service, DDOS, etc. Although phone number can also be had in a similar way, it's not quite as easy as email addresses and anything that uses 2FA is more protected than a simple email/password login. If I remember correctly, I verified my openAI account with my Google Voice number (which is free), since I tend to do that rather than giving out my personal number whenever I remember to obscurate it a little bit.
