Yea that was another head-scratcher. Like, sure work on developing that capability if it can be made viable but it ain’t gonna happen in the next 90 days or probably even before his made-up war with China in 2025.

Simpenomics is a powerful force guiding human behavior and it’s key to understand it’s nearly unlimited power 🍆💦 I, for one, support harnessing the simps for our own ends.

😬 I was not saying WTF as in “wow I love it.” Maybe the guy is great, I don’t know him or even of him at all. I mean mission-focus is one thing, but wishcasting war with China specifically in 2025 is irresponsible. Thanks for your random wag political analysis sir, maybe keep that stuff to yourself or just create a BO.net account so you can vent. Also when he wrote (sic) “empty a clip” and “aim for the head” lolol. Ok John Wayne 😂 they are Chinese, not zombies. I would definitely not want to be the US ambassador to China rn having to explain why a 4-star is saying stuff like this in widely distributed memos…

WTF is this memo real??

The off-ramp remains open any time the Russians want to take it! Either get rid of Putin and stop the invasion or convince him to do so if that’s possible. That’s it, that’s the basis for peace in Ukraine. The Ukrainians will never back down from defending their country from an unjust invasion, nor should they 🇺🇦

ChatGPT is your friend if you're not naturally a fast/good writer. It actually writes OPR bullets decently well too FWIW! https://chat.openai.com/chat?__cf_chl_tk=V88BMIuijuogiyXcV1k9NlD92Ejq6vAwVhZ973JmnrY-1674822321-0-gaNycGzNCJE Examples: Flew 300+ combat hrs with exceptional proficiency, guaranteed success in high-priority missions & target neutralization Planned & executed large-scale INDOPACOM exercise, unique strategic impact, trained multiple coalition units & improved readiness Obviously they're not perfect, but if you need to write a bunch of stuff of low-average quickly it is a great tool. With the narrative format being used more and more, it'll be even better.

For those of us with plantar fasciitis, please careful when stomping that foot 😂 Question for other Guard dudes - when did you start your VA claims? Backstory: I'm a DSG but have been on full-time orders for several years now. I recently filed a claim for documented and real chronic sinusitis alongside the recent burn pit / PACT Act stuff since the connection to service is now assumed. I used an upcoming projected short break in orders to have the eligibility to file. I do have many other issues that I'd like the VA to evaluate eventually: plantar fasciitis, limited knee flexion due to chronic fat pad impingement, a mildly painful scar from a mil doc medical error, sciatica in one leg, chronic penis abrasions from plowing BQZip's mom, etc. Ideally, however, I'd like to serve and remain on flight status for ~10 more years so I, like most aviators, have been hesitant to bring those things up with the VA even though they're (almost) all documented in my medical records, either flight doc and/or civilian PCM since I'm Tricare Prime Remote. For ORFs (old retired farts) who have done this before...what would be your strategy be here? File for everything ASAP as breaks in orders allow? Wait until closer to retirement? Did you use a VSO? I've already done my initial claim for the sinitus and had my VA exam and all that, but they just looked at that one thing because that's all I filed for. I DIY'd the entire process so perhaps I've already made strategic mistakes. Results from my claim are pending. Thanks for any strategies that have worked for you!

Uhhh…they are already on board. And yes, before you ask, that includes gas now as well. This kind of stuff has been both widely reported for months and is easily googleable. We’ve got to improve education re: how to find and filter information… https://www.bundesregierung.de/breg-en/news/eu-sanctions-2008438

I ask is it moral for the state to use violence to control the press and this man says he doesn’t know?? Lol ok. Survey said…no! At least you are against it even if your moral compass is spinning circles.
-
Are…are you saying this is desirable or moral or you want this to happen? 😬🚩 I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt, but I think you should clarify what you meant. My view is we should follow the Constitution, maintain a free press, not resort to fascism, and if you don’t like what a particular reporter or outlet is saying you debate them, issue your own statements directly to your intended audience, start your own media company, or as a regular Joe just patronize one of the innumerable or other outlets out there. Technology makes all of the above easier than ever before! People lying, using bad faith, and reporting things incorrectly in “the media” is a feature of human society as far back as we have records for. Romans in the Senate literally bitched about the same shit y’all are today on this thread. As the saying goes, a free press is the worst option, except all the other ones we’ve tried.

Maybe you’ve just interacted with a lot of bad ones 🤷♂️ I’ve seen a few great ones, a lot of good ones, and some bad ones. Not unlike officers. YMMV. I, like you, have never needed a SNCO to advise me on much as an aircrew member unless they are part of the crew (FE/Boom/Load/Sensor/etc.), but that changes quite a bit when/if you take Command or are otherwise in charge of a large group of enlisted airmen. In those cases I 100% want a great SNCO by my side. My biggest WTF in this general area was the need for a First Shirt in an ops squadron that was 96.9% officers. Our only enlisted were CSS and ARMS. The shirt literally did nothing relevant AFAIK and any issues I had as an LT or Capt needed to be taken to my flt/cc, the DO or CC to be solved, not the random one-off MSgt with a triangle on his sleeve…

M1 Abrams and Leopard tanks to UKR, let's fucking go. Finally. EABOD Vlad, feel free to give up and slink home to your shitty, corrupt petrostate and fall out of a window already.

Yea this is it. It's not "living in an 'unfree state'" like filthy keeps implying, I think as shorthand for California or other "liberal" states. I live in Tennessee, very red, in a exurban/rural part of the state at that, my utility absolutely had all kinds of codes & agreements and crap we had to get squared away. Well, mostly my solar installer, but the compliance work was done either way. And the local inspector had a stick up his ass so he was out here poking around three separate times. There are no state incentives to go solar here and power is really cheap from the grid, so it's more of a niche product rather than a savvy financial move like it is in many places. "Free state" status confirmed I guess 🤷♂️ We are connected to the grid though even with a large amount of solar generation and battery backup, and that's the right setup for a lot of people unless you're building on a piece of land that's not anywhere near a grid connection. That way you can use the grid itself as a massive and 99.XX% reliable "backup" for when it's cloudy long enough that I'm not able to sustain self-generation with normal daily loads (so to speak). The fact that I have to sign an interconnect agreement and comply with the utility's rules & local codes is well worth it...par for the course when you're building almost anything, even if I fully support loosening regulations around clean energy projects. Hell, it's local regulations that prevent me from charging my powerwalls from the grid, even though I think that's entirely stupid. I can buy electricity from the grid and use it for literally anything I can think of...except charge my home storage batteries. I can heat a pool, run a dryer for 24 hours per day, charge multiple EVs, etc., but stupid short-sighted regulations say I can't directly charge my powerwalls from the grid - it's dumb.

Recommend you not assume…it makes an ass out of u and me! I am very pro immigration, so much so that I recognize my views are outside of the mainstream even for a Dem. I’ve also held that view for my entire adult life, so it’s not some kind of sudden revelation here in the last few years. I am disappointed we didn’t let in many, many more Afghans. We should have been flying them out for years. I am also disappointed we don’t increase many immigration program caps 5-10x, especially high-skilled ones. Finally, I don’t know why the Biden admin is trying to fight diversity visa program normalization post-pandemic. They should stop. I feel like you’re trying to either catch me unaware of something or accuse me of “doing a hypocrisy” before you even ask an actual, genuine question. So if you yourself want more Afghans to immigrate or want to give out all the diversity lottery visas we should have given out over the last several years, we can agree! I was already aware of that stuff but I’m glad to hear you are too.

No, only during normal ops. If the grid goes down the software in the Tesla gateway knows and shuts down that pathway, or I can also do that via software or the physical cutoff switch on the side of my house if needed for some reason.
-
Yea I do, 2x Powerwalls. But if you produce more than what the powerwalls can hold + your house load, my system will feed back into the grid. Either way, it’s dumb and regulations around clean energy projects need to be sign did you streamlined and liberalized to allow people to build all the stuff we’re gonna need.

And my argument is that supporting a government policy that bans abortion (or allows abortion) is not a critical aspect of being Catholic or Christian. Depending on your denomination and etc. you probably shouldn’t actually have an abortion yourself, but merely supporting a government policy on the subject one way or another is not the same thing. And the Pope has said as much WRT Catholics, case closed. Yes, if you claimed to be Muslim and then said Mohammed isn’t a profit of God…ok well then you’re not really a Muslim. But super inside-baseball doctrine where there is a variety of opinion AND the head of the faith says it’s not critical…again, case closed. This part is actually the American superpower. The fact that many second or especially third generation immigrants are largely indistinguishable from folks descending from the Mayflower pilgrims is fantastic. You can come from whenever and truly become a real, no-shit American faster and more completely than anywhere else in the world, and that is a very good thing IMHO.

I would like to see some changes, but largely around significantly upping legal immigration caps and legal work permits. Immigration is a massive net positive for the US, esp compared to our global competitors or even most allies, and we should take advantage. BL: I don’t want to stem the tide of people illegally immigrating, I just want to stop it from being illegal. OBE reasons to keep people out (Title 42) should end because COVID has not been a reason to keep people out in a long time; it’s already endemic here. The asylum system is rife for exploitation, so that can and should be changed too, but you would largely solve the problem if you just legalized economic reasons for immigration for Mexicans, Central Americans, Cubans, etc. who often make dubious asylum claims. Just make almost all of it legal and welcome in some new American residents!
-
That’s really dumb. My system was designed and inspected by the local utility so it does not feed back into the grid during an outage, only while things are working normally. It’s not rocket science! That sucks that your utility is way behind the times. Where approx. do you live?
-
Amen.

Disagree on your summary of my views. Catholic stuff aside, I like Joe Biden as a person and I like a lot of the policies he’s pushed through as President the last two years. He’s been more successful than I would have thought both electorally and legislatively. He has also made mistakes and said a lot of dumb stuff over the years, and my biggest critique is that he’s too old to be president now, let alone run for another term. Flame away if it makes you feel better, but that’s not some radical view. He’s a mainstream Dem and so am I and he’s passed a fair amount of bills that are good from the perspective of mainstream Dems. Back on religion, I find his faith to be sincere and genuine and an unmitigated positive part of his personal qualities, even if I’m not that religious myself. I respect people who are sincerely religious although I’m also equally fine supporting people who are not (e.g. I don’t believe Obama was sincerely that religious and I strongly supported him). I am just baffled that, among all other options, a couple of y’all think Biden’s religion is a valid attack line, either because you think he’s faking it somehow, is amoral in general and therefore also lying about his faith, or because of a couple of dickhead bishops want to stop him from eating a cracker. I suspect it’s door #2 for you fourfans? (Sic) “Biden is a lying bad man all around and therefore all this Catholic stuff is fake and bad too.” Close enough? IMHO it would be very strange to be a public, lifelong believer and regular church attendant, all as a setup to “rehab your image.” It would be a really long bit to commit to, although not without precedent!
