  1. Shit! Here here.
  2. That's what I figured. I looked at the regs and JTR and came to the same conclusion. Oh well. At least the weather is nice up here! It's a good problem to have, since my C-130J requal is driving the early July PDD.
  3. Has anyone departed OCONUS back to the States prior to their PDD and DEROS month? My PDD is 2 July and has us travelling during the Canada and U.S. holidays (their version is called Canada Day, original, right?). I talked to my assignments counselor, but didn't get a warm fuzzy. Depending on TMO dates, I expect that we can leave Canada on 29 Jun. It'll take too long to change my DEROS month. Can I take leave prior to my PDD so I can depart earlier and will this affect per diem and other associated PCS costs if we accomplish all of our travel while on leave? Has anyone heard from FinanceGuy lately?
  4. Nope nope nope. We have to be different some way. What about blue boots?
  5. Wouldn't that be something if we went back to black boots. What's old is new again. If/when we go to OCPs, I bet it will be tan boots with flightsuits.
  6. Is there a breakdown by Year Group and/or MWS?
  7. That's a rumor I can get behind. Hope it's true. Although, the Canadians I work with like my ABUs and how well I blend in with the cubicles.
  8. Well, all cadets are issued flight suits.
  9. Word on the street is that the Aircrew Task Force colluded with the Russians to hack Baseops.net.
  10. I don't think the idea that it's a buy out from the bonus, but an offer better than what the AF is giving right now to entice those from taking the bonus.
  11. For realz?
  12. All great ideas.
  13. What have you guys done or plan to do with your jackets once out of the Air Force? Donate, sell, keep and wear it?
  14. For LtCols and Majors who are approaching the 17-20 year mark and plan on retiring at 20 years, do you guys think it'll be easier to stay in the cockpit and avoid staff?
  15. 2. I'm trying to do my part. I'm sitting in a logistics exchange position up in Canada. I recommended to my boss that it be switched to a loggie. Now, the rated position no longer exists and shows up as a 21R in AMS. Although small, I consider it a win. Let's see how it really plays out with the upcoming Summer VML. Granted, for staff, I don't think this is a bad gig.
  16. Toasty, are you guys flying them single ship or keeping them in a certain position within formation flights?
  17. Those numbers are quite the improvement for an H-model.
  18. I'm sure they'll bugger it up somehow.
  19. I'll add on to the C-130 pile. All AD slick C-130s are J (Yokota is in transition). So you have Dyess, Little Rock, Ramstein, and Yokota. Oddly enough, I've done more cool shit in the C-130J during my last assignment to the 61 AS than previous two assignments in the E and H.
  20. Well, I guess we now know where the airframes are coming from for the VC-25A replacement. https://www.defenseone.com/business/2017/08/russian-air-force-one-boeing-trump-747/139872/
  21. Does anyone know if it was a KC-130T or J?
  22. I heard the pilot is already instructing at TOP GUN.
  23. I think Boeing and Airbus are comfortable with their ability to improve upon current designs (737Max, 777X, A330NEO, and A320NEO come to mind). I completely understand fleet commonality and type ratings. It makes sense. Still, we will see a Sonic Cruise-esque aircraft produced en masse? I'm interested to see what A and B come out with next.
  24. 4 engines! I thought the new hotness is two engines. I wonder when we'll see the likes of the Boeing Sonic Cruiser?
  25. Danner Rivot TFX are on the safe to fly list. I just got a pair a month ago and love them. I think they're even more comfortable than Rocky S2Vs (not flight approved).
