  1. Agree, in general, CRT and the like are inconsistent, self-contradictory, and destructive... so I wont waste enegry trying to steel-man them.
  2. This struck me as a funny viewing of the SJW type. I'd venture most champion different scoring criteria for the identities other than white male.
  3. Yep, and its difficult for people to really know where they are on the curve. I don’t think anyone has ever done more to amplify my generally skeptical attitude on any topic more than SoH’s emotive postings.... So much so that I’m skeptical of his authenticity.
  4. I did Brandman’s MAOL program and think it was solid. It will cost you some out of pocket and each class is a bit more challenging than other min-run options, but the 15 hrs credit is great. Good quality education IMO.
  5. You just described racial profiling. To be clear, are you condoning this?
  6. Unproven theory that large-scale, statistically signifcant, imprecise characterisations occur, yes. No conspiracy required. Systems do not require conscious coordination with ill intent to deliver poor results. They are often way more complicated than our monkey brains give them credit for. Unintended consequences and all. Sure, I acknowledge that pandemics are a particularly difficult situation for societies that value liberty. Which is a good point to emphasize, and often a root issue in disagreements: how highly do each of us value liberty vs security?
  7. Not really, I recommend you read up on the concept of Systems Thinking... ...Could not be more wrong; how people died/are harmed, whether directly from the disease or our reaction to it, makes all the difference when it comes to decision making and the effects of the disease.
  8. Suggestions on what to do to get them to step up their defence game?
  9. I've never had a strong opinion on it but I somewhat leaned to the probable futility of min wage raises... but I think you've convinced me. Worthy of noting for internet banter.
  10. Real question.... where else?
  11. True. Though you know, all of us age. I wouldn't argue against getting rid of age brackets anyway. Nice strawman. Me either. Reality is, its more difficult to make a team of folks when they operate under different standards based on their race/religion/gender/etc. I'm a proponent for singular standards across the board. Combat airpower tie in: Ive seen this end the service of guys who were otherwise high performers and, tighter teams perform better. My piece is said, again... we certainly do have bigger issues.
  12. Most people know how the test was designed. This does not support your argument that we have the "same" standard. We have different standards, literally generated by discriminating based on gender averages. As long as a woman can score an "excellent" for a run time that would end a man's career, we are damaging esprit de corp. But, sure, we have bigger problems.
  13. This might be the most asinine, political BS, mental-gymastics justification I have ever heard. But it could be the whiskey.
  14. Meh, he is regurgitating what others are throwing out. BREAK BREAK There has been a marked improvement in leadership in all levels of my chain of command over the past couple years. I am hopeful that eventually we will be in a much better place, but the Air Force is now suffering the consequences of epically poor decision making/culture of previous commands.
  15. This. The delays are real. Exactly, in my mind the single biggest cultural problem we have is the "I had to do it so you should to" attitude. The bullshit always adds and rarely subtracts.
  16. 2 Really quite saddening. Shit happens in war, but damn, a leaflet drop? The very purpose of such a drop is to inform the populace of dangers and to win popular support. What a truly tragically ironic occurrence. My prayers to her family.
  17. I can't say for sure, but chances are your IFS date will not change... They are not the ones who schedule you for IFS, but hey, wouldn't hurt to ask and maybe they can pull some strings. I wouldn't consider the wait so bad though. As several others have touched on, Pensacola is a sweet place to be stashed if you actually take advantage of it (Personally, I recommend living in NE Pensacola... living on the bay is SWEET and its only a 30 min drive for me). For casual it depends on who you are assigned to, most of us are "Ops" meaning we either work in the office or work the grill by the flight line 3 or 4 days a week for about 3 hours. After which you are free to do as your heart desires. As far as the T-6s... this may be another reason you don't want to move up that IFS date... they have actually started receiving T-6s! I believe someone said they are a new model with beta, allowing split field ops to continue. I was actually there for the flyover when the first two arrived, so its really is finally happening. The latest projection I heard (not an official confirmed date) is that it will take until mid May to get IPs trained up and start the first student sorties. I will work on putting together some more useful info to post on here, still figuring out a lot myself though.
  18. ummmmm.... A-10s? *oh and... awesome news... Sign me up!
  19. We always had flights come up with one ingredient each and present a rhyme to introduce their selection. The combo was usually gross... but that was the point... the grog is not suppose to be tasty. (This was for ROTC, so no alcoholic grog unfortunately)
  20. I agree with you, it is just unfortunate that it comes at a time when the whole program is under pressure and I'm sure some will be looking to use this as an opportunity to the pilot
  21. Idk, I fear it will have the opposite effect... "Why are we paying so much for these things if they aren't even safe to fly?" or something along those lines
  22. "2" on the ABU deal Has anyone ever heard of them actually checking or discovered a reason to have 3 sets?
  23. Its been a few years since I took the TBAS but my best advice: Take your time and carefully read and reread all instructions before beginning a section. There is no time limit here and, if I remember correctly, you get a little sample before you take the actual test. Study this, imagine what you are going to do, imagine possible variations (particularly for the Directional Orientation Test) and what your response will be, and mock test yourself (touch but don't push buttons... particularly for the Emergency Scenario Test).... and for the Airplane Tracking Test... imagine some damn commie bastard flying around in American airspace.... shoot that mother effer.
  24. Took this one up at Altus while on a PDT in ROTC
  25. Haha, I knew it was only a matter of time before that comment came. Maybe we should just merge the two threads...
