What skills are missing with the grads going to heavies that AMC is complaining about? I’m amazed most deficiencies can’t be fixed via sims. And I’m of the opinion that changes need to happen across the board. Technology has advanced so far that if an airframe can be multi role, the pilot can handle it much easier now than 20 yrs ago. Some airframes like the A-10 really can’t be multi role, but you also don’t want an F-35 wheeling over the battlefield so niche single missions are still viable. The EF2K is on life support only because the export market to countries that aren’t allowed to buy the F-35 like Kuwait/Saudi. Why would the Germans buy it and spend much more money on a much less capable airframe? The left will vote for whoever CNN/MSNBC tells them is good and can beat trump. Let’s not get too far into them caring about issues. Tulsi has no chance because the media hasn’t pushed her. You guys are critically thinking about stuff when the reality is, the avg millennial dem wants to know what free stuff they are getting and who will make them feel better/scare them the least. They want this conveniently via social media or quick blurbs, nothing in depth. Not a Trump lover but I hope he wins by a landslide. The dem platform flat out scares me. I agree it’s probably too early to draw conclusions but given the number of people in this board who are opposed to change, I find it interesting that there are guys making it through. By the way, that info was from a LM instructor, not a VR proponent. Technology is changing tactics the way INS/GPS changed navigation. I think we should train to that and also face some unpopular realities about what legacy airframes will do mission-wise in the future. Did any of you guys know that there are dudes in the USAF currently who’s first solo was in the T-6 and second solo ride was in the F-35? I heard today they are doing fine. Granted they got 12 dual F-16 flights but zero T-38/IFF. Next batch will go T-6 direct to F-35 without the F-16 based on this success. New world...embrace it. 6-9 years ago I hopped on a C-5 trip space A to the Bahamas. It was supposed to be there 3x days but it got cut short after a day. I rode along and we ended up flying to North Carolina, picking up a single pallet and taking it to Travis. I was informed it was because someone saw the 3-day layover and determined it was a waste of resources. So the taxpayers spent 200x+ more in jet fuel to not waste resources on a made up task. Wright-patt medical gurus have the waiver authority for ejection seats. I have a bunch of titanium fusing my vertebrae after a snowboard accident, was DNIF 6 months but they approved a return to ejection seat aircraft saying no guarantee it would survive an ejection. I went a solid 8 years without a valid PT test. We pencil-whipped at the sq level, I remember having a beer at the sq bar, being asked by the PTL what he thought I could run 1.5 in. Same guy was a hardass IP because one evaluation mattered, the other we all knew was BS. So m I wouldn’t doubt Pilots are doing that still if able. And it’s fine by me because the PT test is dumb.
