Received this email today: “The DoD Consolidated Adjudications Facility (CAF)’s current legal position is that ownership of marijuana stocks is considered involvement in drug-related activities and would be a "reportable incident" under the Continuous Evaluation process. OUSDI is currently drafting implementation guidance of the Security Executive Agent Directive (SEAD) 3, Reporting Requirements for Personnel with Access to Classified Information or Who Hold a Sensitive Position. Among other reportable activities required by SEAD3, the memo will address reporting requirements for covered individuals with financial investments or holdings in companies who sell or manufacture schedule I substances legally under state law. While the DoD CAF is currently working on guidance that will address marijuana-based investments, previous guidance issued by the CAF remains effective. Marijuana-based investments are considered a reportable incident and should be reported via the SF86C through the Unit Security Assistant to the IP Office and we will submit to the DoD CAF. We will keep you informed of any changes or updates from the DoD CAF or OUSDI regarding this subject matter. The one time I could’ve been bit by conveniently “forgetting” my GTC was when my jet broke at Hill and I needed a ticket from SLC but Delta wouldn’t give me a govt rate without the GTC. Called my RA who told me to use my personal at the more expensive rate. Expected to get a talking to as a Capt but never heard a word. I never use my GTC. I’m watching a Documentary on Netflix called “Tanks” and its terrific on the rise of tank technology, then when the counter tech was developed for different tank generations, how quickly it changed strategy and approach to battle. These stories are great to affirm USAF f-ckery and our support. Once as the only US person on an entire U.S. support base flying combat missions at the time I was denied the ability to do my overdue PT test because as they put it, “Sir, since you are not here under a US PERSCO, giving you a PT test could get flagged in the system CONUS when we report our PT stats.” I understood it was a unique situation when Amn x was afraid to get in trouble but I engaged SNCO’s and FGO’s on the matter who didn’t have the leadership or decision making ability to have support personnel provide support to someone doing an actual mission. This was after I showed them the regs allowed it. Showed me that there is a huge leadership void at officer and enlisted levels and a focus on processes vs tasks. I think he has a point. I know a few fighter pilots who only flew because they got a pilot slot back in the day. They are fine but it’s not their passion. We have a saying that there are fighter pilots and there are pilots who fly fighters. When I see a fighter pilot General with 24 years and 1,700 hours flying time, I can usually tell what the career focus was. And f-ck you, pay me plus give me flying hours in a sweet location. The real way to fix this would be to have pilots simply fly and do minimal qweep, which would instead be done by dedicated support personnel embedded in the sq. Imagine flying, studying and if not on the schedule, free to hit the gym, go home etc with no guilt or fear that just doing your job is going to get you and your family screwed over come assignment time.
