Raise Taxes, Fire up the Draft.
Can we rename “defense spending” to “throw our money in the gutter trying to help third world Islamic shitholes become livable by western standards in futility spending” ?!? I’m pro military spending but we absolutely waste a ton of tax dollars.

The Next President is...
Imagine your friend watched an unreliable weather report and was convinced that the weather over the weekend would be bad. Instead he wakes on Saturday to clear skies and 80F. You tell him to join you for some fun outside but he refuses to even consider it and doesn’t even look out his window. Instead he stays inside, tells everyone on social media how bad the weather is and complains about how it is only getting worse and the weather is probably really bad in the next town over. When friends say “look outside, it’s gorgeous” he tells them they are idiots and he knows more about weather than they do, they must be watching the wrong weather channel and they are not empathetic to the suffering of the people affected by the weather. Finally he looks outside and sees neighbors returning from boating on a sunny day realizing it was nice...but is upset.....he doesn’t own a boat as nice as theirs and what about the people who don’t own a boat at all? How could they enjoy a sunny day? This is how I feel around my Democrat friends post 2016 election.

Ordering Patches (name, morale, fun meter)
Find someone in Korea to do a mass order at the patchy shop if you can and send it your way. Good product, cheap price.

What's wrong with the Air Force?
What’s your role in the exercise? If you can help/train, fine, if not, it’s BS. My sq was TDY at a base during a ORE...base told us not to interfere, DO said “we’ll participate in full chem gear etc” so that he could look good.

Can you articulate for those of us outside the loop on this one?

Safety School (Albuquerque, AMIC)
Doubt it but maybe if you can make the case it’s usaf quality equivalent which from my experience with foreign nations safety programs vs USAF, they have very little in common other than the name. Bangladesh May be the exception.

If you look hard enough you can find a pattern to claim just about anything. Don’t fall for the propaganda. I know well-educated successful upper middle class minorities who have it better than 90% of Americans that have been convinced they are victims in a systematically racist country. Because they’ve found a “pattern” and they can justifiably compare 2018 New England to 1968 Mississippi. Some people just want to complain and be victims. Most of us are tired of it.

AF Light Air Support Aircraft
I’ve met some great pilots who escaped their UPT fate by going ANG so I know that many capable pilots are in heavies/ISR etc who would do just fine in fighters. One guy I met was a bomber to RPA to UPT to ANG F-16 and he was doing just fine. Back in the late 90s a bunch of c-130 types switched to F-15C’s and Hogs etc. I also know helo to f-15e/f-18

Aviation Continuation Pay (ACP - The Bonus)
I ran into this issue when I took the 50% up front of the bonus. Otherwise, not a bad problem to have when you are making that much money.

The Next President is...
There is no shortage of skilled, qualified people wanting to get to the U.S. I’ve been asked numerous times by European co workers to help them look into paths to immigration for them (pilots) or family whom they in 2018 want their kids to have a better shot at economic success. The American dream is still alive. We get to be picky about who we let in...we SHOULD be picky. I’m not a Trump fan but let’s face it, 69%+ of Americans think those countries are sh-tholes. I applaud his honesty. Zero of my liberal friends are rushing to sponsor and lodge African immigrants, nor do they in reality want those migrants moving in next door. They simply want to feel good #emotionalliberalactsofnothing and attacking trump gets some anger out.

B-1 (Bone) questions
No, in those jets designed for visual lookout and maneuvering you can easily/quickly descend if you need a better view and see where your pod is looking to verify outside your nice bubble canopy possibly aided with a HMCS. They “could” have the same issue but Chances are they “would not”.

B-1 (Bone) questions
So not to knock the bone, it’s done some great work but it’s got some HUGE drawbacks in anything other than a simple bombs required on coords scenario and this is why 5 dudes are dead. Every jet has strength/ weakness but a strength of the hog other than having all the nice technology designed for CAS is you have diverse weapons. So when there is a question of “is this the right target” you can send a marking rocket or do 2-ship “hit my IR mark” tactics. These type of options provide steps to break the chain of errors if a JTAC is overtasked/wrong. So if you have a JTAC who needs a pod and maybe a BOC, bone is fine. If you need complex deconfliction (read the CAS definition...it’s not 99% of Afghanistan) then you want a aircraft with the tools, weapons and training to do it. Again, not knocking the bone, it has done some fine work but every jet has its limitations. The A-10C has terrific avionics designed for the mission...some features were a result of lessons learned where feat happened in the past. F-16 block 30 is a CAS machine compared to other blocks. Strengths and limits.

Trends in Air to Air Combat
Which airframes are in the running? USAF only? Given a super hornet got the first “actual” a/a shot in about 20 years and 16/15e’s were actually tasked with DCA, genuinely curious the metrics.

Trends in Air to Air Combat
Saw a new Raytheon Trophy F-15 video. Question: what is the “real” criteria for winning the Trophy? Ie the metrics they use.

Promotion and PRF Information
The best interest of the USAF is to have everyone slugging it out giving 169% because they think they have a shot at being the MFWIC someday. It works in a lot of cases. I know guys who have been repeatedly denied entry onto the HPO track yet they keep begging for their beatings. Imagine if OPR’s were honest...dudes would be jumping ship even more often when they realize they aren’t going anywhere early on.

Promotion and PRF Information
Yep, dudes in reality about your 6 year point you should be able to take stock of your future in the USAF by what type of strats/push you are getting/have gotten. It pains me to see dudes not realistic with their lack of push at that point and still think they have HPO potential. I see people volunteer for some truly sh-t jobs/deployments/TDY’s thinking it’s the boost they need but in reality they are working twice as hard for half the results. I’ve seen a few buck the trend and get on the HPO track late but the personal cost was enormous. This is my experience looking back over 15 years and seeing how peers and subordinates ended up in the long run vs indicators early on.

Dream Sheet Advice
Not true. The F-22 5th gen capes were used a few weeks back to penetrate hostile Afghanistan airspace and drop GPS guided bombs on poppy processing facilities. Rumor has it the targets were highly defended by pitchforks and shovels.

Hacker, can you break down the scope clause and associated issues for dummies like me who don’t speak airline....yet.
