Oh it’s been researched. Literally hired under the program then as the package was being routed, a 2 star that doesn’t think retirees should be hired has staff stop the packages before they ever got to the approval authority. One guy hired was so sure it’d happen that he didn’t even have a retirement ceremony or fini flight. And today I just heard how bad my base/airframe are hurting for IPs. UFB

I was hired as a TR into a “retired reservist” position by a unit but a 2-star general who doesn’t believe the unit should be hiring retirement eligible pilots killed the package. So my choices are if I want to fly military to stay AD or figure out a work around.

No, I can retire but I’d rather fly part time as I dig my airframe/job/base….just don’t want to do AD.

Im trying to join the reserves after 21 years…not trying to get retired pay (was already denied)just take an open TR spot. Anyone know if I can separate from AD post 20 vs have to retire?

Garmin Fenix 5…., super functional, allowed in the vault love it. My breitling/bremont/citizen/astrozavia pilot watches all get rotated occasionally for show only.

This^^ Near Zero effort for qual’d military to get picked up right now. I had no interview prep, no digital logbook, no resume check, no internal airline recs, 1x letter of rec from my buddy who isn’t an airline pilot and still got called 7 mos from availability date.

If you sell back a month of leave you get base pay for that. If you retire, you can sell back that month for base pay amount plus you’ll get retirement. For me, the $4500 retirement pay out earns my BAH/BAS/Flight pay So retiring = sell back is usually worth more money.

Base pay + retirement pay beats base pay + bah/bas/flight pay. If you aren’t going to get a pension…you are correct. I need my DD214 as quick as possible so selling it makes sense for time and money,

Truth data, I run a 1,000 acre wheat farm as a side gig…after reading you guys here I just contacted my fertilizer guy for a quote and the price last year for fertilizer per acre cost me $63, this year it’ll be $120 at current rates. Never seen anything like it. Of course this will drive up prices and be passed to the consumers.

Plenty of people have had chest pain before the vaccine. Could be related…could not be. Oddly though at my base we’ve had 2x healthy 35sh yr olds with heart attacks recently. Again, could be the vaccine, could be something else.
