  1. It's sad that I felt like I had to pay $10 to send my BS Masters transcript to get a Bac+ on my surf prior to the board.. From what we were briefed, it is a breakdown per functional... so 11Ms/11S's should be differentiated per MWS, but I haven't seen that in writing... only what we were briefed.
  2. BG-type that just briefed us said it's Gen Welsh's full intent to honor a VSP for passed-over VSP people then subsequently RIFd. Apparently he wasn't happy about the previous situation. We shall see if that actually happens..
  3. As a "voluntary force management programs" spreadsheet, this applies to VSP, etc. Does this spreadsheet also mean that all AFSCs in blue will go to the force shaping board or RIF as well?
  4. Any way to post the matrix?
  5. ..neither is sacrificing your life for country
  6. Sadly good questions.. as a J-driver I would use it you can survive the wrath..
  7. And landed at the right airport
  8. go black, reset the FADECs.. boom, all is well.
  9. Most of us went to UPT with 0 hours, not even knowing what an ILS was... you'll be fine
  10. I don't have any advice.. but if I did, I wouldn't give it until you changed your name to "TexanII154"
  11. Sequestration my ass..give me flying hours.
  12. Excess spending for boots and uniformity and queepy shit.. knowing the CC at the time, sounds about right...
  13. Scotch and this thread made my night... The entitlement generation is going to make jaw-crushing pilots. I remember my first beer.
  14. Negative. Get an MBA from DL if you are an engineer.. so you can get a real engineering masters and a crap MBA.
  15. Nothing more liberating that a solid 'see ya' at KAF. F comm procedures, I don't mind a personable moment in the midst of a hellhole.
  16. A fresh new J guy 'should' be able to.. but Afghanistan is very different than CONUS. High elevations/max gross weights/defensive systems are not taught in unison so task saturation and maturity (especially for GW considerations) are not there yet. A few rides in those conditions and its natural again, but those few rides are still educational over there.
  17. Also, apart from J-school, there are not checkrides in the simulator. Expect a 'supercheck'.. full mission profile to include a tac approach to an assault, followed by a full pro portion with Cat II ILS, three engine work, circling, etc. Long terrible sortie. Lastly: AC and Co-Pilot checkrides are the same.
  18. Superb acquisitions process. Edit: JSF is joint..KC-46 it is
  19. AMC/ACC will not be outsourced...not because the AF won't do it, but because the civilians won't apply. After reading the fine print: **random 18 hour days, 40 mandatory desk hours per flying hour, with flying on the weekends only (maybe)...** Godspeed contracted flyers. Godspeed.
  20. I can confirm, after 130 formal training, OPR is due 1 year after showing up to the SQ. Bad news for 1Lt bubbas.
  21. Is it just me or did the 17 leave some taxi or LDG lights on for the flight...
  22. I had a few close calls with USAF RPAs in the AOR....but far more close calls with Navy F-18 Prowlers goddamn aerostats
  23. Well here's to hoping TUI doesn't go to shit since I'm a few classes in and in it for the long run sounds like we'll know more in a few months "We thank WASC for their counsel and look forward to the WASC special visit in Fall 2012 which will ensure that the new administrative policies, procedures, and processes implemented by TUI are enduring and that student information systems enhancements are progressing. It is our goal to demonstrate this to WASC at the Fall 2012 special visit." https://www.trident.edu/message-from-the-president#mar142012
