Such a distinctive sound but it's usually the "chemtrails" that give it away.

He's the 8th WPS Honorary Commander and all around good people. Definitely gets "it." He is/was always willing to help out WUGS when they needed to decompress.

I'm currently enrolled in a class and there have been no announcements that it is going away.

I'm about to complete the academic courses for the AU OLMP. Anyone taken their Research Electives and do you really need to have a topic selected prior to enrolling in the first one?

I did miss that one thanks for the data.

One way to get folks on board is to make it about charity. $20 buy in, $20 if you shave it prior to the last day of March. All proceeds go to Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Watch the trolls retreat when they can't figure out how to say something without looking like an jackass.

Short answer is yes but not very likely. Most folks that I know are 13Bs are moving the other direction from AD to either EADS, WADS, or Alaska. With the imminent closure of two of five AD CRCs I'd say your chances of finding an AD position are fairly limited. Most of those bodies will flow to fill pre existing shortfalls in the other three AD CRCs. Not the best time to try to get into an AD CRC. If you're looking to transfer from ANG to AD in JSTARS I can't speak to their manning. If you want to fly on AWACS then the 970th (Reserves) may be hiring but I wouldn't bet on it. Tinker gets roughly 60% of our graduates so they're not hurting for manning. If you're AGR then I would stay that route because AD is RIF'ing, VSPing, kicking out folks. Are you currently in the Guard as an ABM? Edited for iPhone and tap talk buffoonery.

I don't know if it's being fought at the Congressional level and I don't really care. The training is standardized amongst AD, ANG, and Reserve but ANG are not required to fly. The exception is those who are ANG at Robins. CRC ANG studs get flights on an "as able" basis and typically it's not an issue but I've witnessed times when it was. The way it was explained to me was that ANG studs would NEVER meet their first gate because ground based OFDA only counts for 24 months out of the first 96. It was a rated management function and nothing else.

General Welsh spoke at WEPTAC this week and the last question was the status of Masters being masked on PRFs. His response was that in 3-6 months we should expect to see specific guidance on promotions. He also alluded to having reviewed the last round of O-7 PRFs and the average was 3 masters degrees which he called "stupid." "If you have extra time I want you to spend that with family and I want the most important factor in promotion being job performance." Sir your 6 month clock is ticking.

Not hearing anything from AU is correct. They'll send you an email a week or two out from the start of you first course do you can take the required orientation class. Orientation is basically just a tutorial on how to use Blackboard, net freedom, academic integrity, etc.... As far as course offerings you rank order the 5 classes you want to take and then are placed in them. I've never had anything other than what was at the number one position. Then you get your books. So far I've bought 3, discussion questions were drawn from them, at ~$30 total. Everything else was a download and I never purchased a physical text book they all had Kindle editions.

+$90 at Tyndall with dependents. Looks like we can upgrade to the double wide finally!

Looks like this guy took some cues from the Air Force for this article about violence/alcohol in the NFL. https://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=8727020link

[sarcasm on] I thought we were shifting all non Air Force personnel to Guam which will cause it to [sarcasm off]

They got the BP oil cleaned up but the paper mill is still spewing filth so it's a wash.

They're not getting replaced as the line recently just turned out their last one.

DTS -> Next Generation Travel System - Ideas?
abmwaldo replied to Finance_Guy's topic in General Discussion
I use JotNot Pro. Costs a few bucks but it scans to PDF or jpg and allows you to do some minor editing to clean up the image. -
When was this? I never saw them at 11B... Saw them 2x during Integration.

Probably an intel dude that was pissed to learn that JSTARS is a C2 platform and not just ISR.

Investment showdown -- beyond the Roth, SDP, & TSP
abmwaldo replied to Swizzle's topic in Squadron Bar
So will I be able to roll my current Roth, with Vanguard, into the Roth TSP and then max out the 17k? Or will rolling it over count towards that 17K?- 1,190 replies

There will be minimal impact to students other than new squadron patches. There will be changes but they will impact permanent party more than students. As far as assignments go we're continuing to get CRCs dropped, Korea, Tyndall plowback (think FAIP), along with GK, Elmendorf, and Kadena. Robins and Tinker always need more bodies. Bay front isn't bad. I've got a friend that owns a place there. Close to base an on the water. Only complaint would be if the wind shifts just right you'll get a faceful of paper mill. There's not too much immediately there so you'll have to drive to get to 23rd or Mexico Beach.

Fact in our corner of AETC. Three year tour and you're going to get at least a 179 and if you're exceptionally fortunate two 179s in the span of 18 months.

I've got 2x rental properties that I was thinking of refinancing... last time I looked (~2010 timeframe) I was told needed 20% loan to value or be ready to bring enough cash to the table in order to get to that 20% mark in order to refinance an investment property. Is this still the case?

The way I understand it is Eglin is actually owned by AFMC and the 33d FW is a tenant unit. So when our squadron joins the 33d FW we'll be a tenant unit of a tenant unit...

1. Graduate Tyndall. 2. Graduate your MDS training. 3. Get CMR. 4. Fly on the jet/work the CRC for 6 months. 5. Talk to your Weapons Officer. Unless you have prior experience with an ABM platform I recommend the above path. At this point it's like being a freshmen at college where everyone is pre-med (not equating UABMT to med school). Figure out what the job is and if you like it or are able to execute. Come find me in DOW when you get to Tyndall.
