Bro's, BLUF: Is it legal/advisable to set up a petition in the BX to allow personally owned firearms to be in personally owned vehicles while on base? This has probably been discussed before in the over 200 pages of this thread or one of the 1000's of threads in this forum, but I can't find it exactly.... I recently PCS'd and during the welcome brief I asked the installation commander (and my wing commander, two different people) about the ability to carry concealed onto base and then leave my POF locked in the car. The wing commander deferred to the installation commander. The installation commander said a "threat working group" decided there is no reason to concealed carry on base (not what I'm asking for), and "nobody wants to carry anyways"... I took an informal poll (so to speak) of the audience and they strongly disagreed with him. That said, one of the guys in my squadron was talking about the potential to set up a table and collect signatures of individuals that would like to have their 2nd amendment right while traveling through the ghetto that surrounds the base (I personally have no desire to carry on base). I was wondering your collective thoughts? Another way to go about this is to talk to congress, but I don't know how far that would get me. I didn't realize the Hero 5 Black had 4k30.... 4k15 on the Hero 4 Silver is definitely too jittery in anything fast (like a fighter type aircraft).

Pretending the comment above doesn't exist.... I highly recommend the GoPro 4 Silver.... It's nice because it has the screen on the back. Also recommend purchasing from the BX and getting the protection plan. My Gp4 Silver got crushed en-route to the 'stan and the protection plan replaced it, no questions asked!

Nellis... Specifically the CAS Integration Group or the Tactical Air Support Squadron, depending on the time of day. Yeah, I can't find any specifics in the JTR for the "earliest" departure/hhg shipments.... I also can't figure out when it becomes non-concurrent travel... one guy mentioned it possibly being non-simultaneous concurrent travel. I'll probably just have to wait until I'm done with this TDY and back at home station so I can hear what the local interpretation of the JTR is.

Friends, Trying to get advice on the best way to handle my travel plans. The background: I'm currently OCONUS accompanied. We've been assigned to a CONUS location next. My DEROS is December. My RNLT is mid December. I have orders in hand for PCS. I'm competitive for a TDY en route (SOS) in November, but I don't have official notification on that yet. What I'm trying to accomplish: Send wife/son early to occupy the house we're buying. I'd like them to be in place the second week of October. I'd also like our hhg to arrive sometime relatively shortly after they get there (within a few weeks) What advice do you have to help me accomplish this plan? It seems easy if I get amendments to go to SOS en route. What if I don't? Thanks in advance!
