Brabus, you are breaking my Heart. Flew the hard wing C, D, Es and the Slatted E. Great machine. But then it was the only real choice for me back then (before you were born). Check Six, D

Fortunately, and sometimes unfortunately, I have known (and interacted) with a lot of GOs (all services) in my 50+ years since 1969. Many a friend, some not so. Four became USAF Chief of Staff. With that stated, I not always agreed with several of my GO friends in their support of WH/Pentagon policy decisions. Personally, I have little respect for the latest generation of senior GOs. And as for Milley, well the above members I agree with.

No risk Boomer6, I totally understand your thoughts and evaluation. And I agree that TCU was not ready, even before the incident, for Colorado. Still, young people are often easily influenced by events occurring around them. Anyway, my second wife thinks TCU was/is over rated from last year. She's my "Sporty Girl", as her daughter's husband was drafted in 1998 and played 2 years. I just listen and watch.

First off, the Colorado and TCU game was great to watch. With that said, the TCU players and students were reeling from the murder of Wes Smith, TCU player in 2021. The Pre Game moment of remembrance, was well deserved, but might have had affected team members. My grandson, that attends TCU, was pretty shook up, as he frequents 7th Street. Losing many friends, to both combat and peacetime, I can attest to how it affected me, especially in my first/younger years of flying. So as the great NY Yankee catcher, Yogi Berra (that most of you youngsters don't know) said: .."It ain't over til It's over". Let's see how the season plays.

I think I have an (the) original Yankee Air Pirate patch on my old (me) helmet bag, that my progressive (40+ old) kick ass Lawyer (Kirkland Ellis) daughter has. She loves to show my helmet bag off, and loves Top Gun...Go Figure?...I think there is another, or more, non PC correct patch from the 70s on the bag. And would have loved getting my Load from a Chick Boomer.

So let me understand this, I was called a Baby Killer, by even friends, during Vietnam. Now, if I’m a present Alphabet person, I can have everyone else pay for my Abortion, Transition, etc. and I can avoid Deploying, let alone Combat Tours. And not be called Baby Killer.

In the meantime....awaiting another WH Presidential Invite now to the little 6yr old girl and her Family shot in broad daylight by a previous convicted individual and not by a 84 yr old senile, scared homeowner at night time. Any bets on when that will occur???

Haha. Yes she is. Former Stewardess (not Flight Attendant) that reminds me of that and her forgone era of being fit and friendly. And, she being of that era, also appreciates the past antics of pilots back then. I caught a great woman. Oops I think I now have say a great One instead. Wait, no I don’t I’n retired!

SHFP replied to F-15E WSO's topic in Squadron Bar
Just finished "Lessons From The Hanoi Hilton"....had several friends there. One spent spent 7 years, two others only a few. Met many more over my years attending AF POW reunions at the USAF Academy and Randolph AFB. With that said, I would not wanted a night there just to say I had "Been there and done that". Admiral Stockdale (comments from my friends) was outstanding. So I will not personally comment on how each POW accepted their fate. "Embrace The Suck" as life often gives us no other choice. -
Actually: "Let No Man Pull You So Low As To Hate Him" MLK Let's not let Him do that to us guys...I don't want to be/become like Him. Had not proof read...sorry

Looking back 50 years ago it was a pretty tumultuous time....the war....race riots...etc...hard being in the Service... In my opinion, pretty devastating to many friends and families... However, We (as a country) will get through this... BUT DON'T let these times destroy our Family & Friends Friendships!! Check Six...back to my beer!

Firstly, I agree on no longer seeing the need to an actual touchdown and rollout. With that said, did many in the F4 and loved the challenge and experience. Later taught them In UPT and also enjoyed it. However, later when in the ANG, my F-101 Squadron, and another state's ANG, both lost two crews doing formation takeoffs within 2 years... made me rethink the need on both doing takeoffs and landings. Good discussion on the merits. Back to my wine....
