  1. Depending on how much time you have in Vipers, your time to upgrade could be significantly shorter. When does your training at Little Rock start?
  2. Mox--A good friend of mine is currently doing the C-27A thing with the Afghans. If you're interested, PM me and I'll put you in touch with him.
  3. Averaged 2 ESPs/month at Pope back in the mid-90s. Gotta love the E-model...
  4. Swim meet? Or swim meat? Either way, the point gets across...
  5. Well played Hoss--well played!
  6. Amen brother--beat the "Dead Things"!
  7. Amazing...one operational tour straight out of UNT before he was a squadron commander. That plus a whopping 2200 hours makes him overqualified for command! Thank God I'm retired...
  8. Scary thing is, she's probably flying for one of the airlines now...
  9. Not necessarily true. I just retired from the 714th, and am going back to work there in April as a GS. Before I left (2 weeks ago), students with follow-ons to Kirtland/Cannon/Hurlburt were the priority. AFSOC's tired of the BS, and called AETC's bluff on slick students being the priority. Last I heard, AFSOC folks would be graduating on time/early... FWIW
  10. Especially since, as a commissioned officer and college graduate, you should at least be expected to know how to spell...
  11. Each MWS sets its own minimum requirements (age/rank, hours, etc) which are spelled out in the initial board message. As ClearedHot said--they all accept waivers, but whether you get one is again dependent upon MWS and number of others applying to the school. PM if you want more info...
  12. Unless you show up with this whiny bitch attitude...
  13. Slacker--based on your avatar I wouldn't think you'd be into (sts) guys in pink tank tops with big boobs...
  14. Makes me want to start running again
  15. Back-pedal...back-pedal...back-pedal (nice disclaimer) Seriously though, I'm 100% in agreement--it depends on the patch. Some divisions definitely have more tools than others, though...
  16. Not sure about the nav piece, but CG pilots do train at Little Rock (at least for initial qual). We generally have a couple Coasties in training at any one time, and just got an exchange IP from the CG to teach at the FTU.
  17. Crew chief AFSC no longer required to be an FE. We're currently training former TRANS and Finance guys to be FEs at the FTU. Not providing an opinion, just stating facts...
  18. Christmas Cheer, Shoe Style... Merry Christmas to all deployed for the holidays!

  20. Careful what you ask for...
  21. Scavenged off of a light gray???
  22. It's the early 90's, and I'm a brand new Tweet FAIP fresh out of PIT on my first T3 cross country with another IP. We're on our second leg from Amarillo to Colorado Springs, it's about 10pm and Denver Center's frequency is dead quiet for almost 10 minutes. Then... (Female Voice): "United 69 checking in level at 350" (Denver Center): "United 69, Denver Center, Roger. Say, are you flying one of those new 777s?" (Female Voice, obviously proud): "Why yes, I am, and I must tell you it's a most wonderful ride..." and then she proceeds to go on for a minute or two about how great daddy's new cadillac is... (Unknown): "Dammit...a brand new aircraft and it already has a crack in the seat!" Followed by another 10 minutes of silence...
  23. No military in my immediate family until me. I grew up on a cattle ranch about 10 miles north of the AF Academy. With all of the flybys (along with the Colo ANG out of Buckley flying A-7s and the Pete Field Reserve flying Herks) over our place all the time, it was easy to dream about flying while I was cleaning stalls or bucking hay bales.
  24. FL330 from Yokota to Elmendorf...could've made 350 easy, but there's something about the fuel freezing that convinced us otherwise.
  25. You're an IP candidate, which means you should already have the GK and flying skills to be an IP. If you show up lacking either, expect extra attention. As Linda and tac airlifter said--if you're prepared and work hard, you'll do fine.
