  1. I was trying to fill a few Hawgs for a midnight/early morning tasking in Kuwait, had a few missing pilots, and did some line of sight scheduling to make the launch. Later, with the sun coming up, I'm walking back to my trailer only to find one of the missing walking towards me. I ask, "Where the hell were you!". He replied, "Jail." Well, turns out there were some scantily clad Fillipino flight attendants, a swimming pool and, yes, alcohol was involved. Later, on their drive back home, due to some misunderstandings regarding oil field security and procedures therein, the Kuwaiti army and the Kuwaiti Air Force Security Police got involved. Nobody said nothing to anyone and nothing came of it. Funny as hell story looking back.
  2. How bad are things that you loose a sock?
  3. Even if the documents found in Trumps house were TS, TS/SCI, etc., if we apply the Comey standard used in regard to Hillary and the classified documents found on her home brew server, the FBI has to find intent. I am assuming this will not be the case because if the FBI didn't have double standards, they would have no standards at all.
  4. I was flying Hong Kong trips when that all started. "Nary a fight" is not an accurate statement. There were some serious riots that got seriously quashed. They pulled up the sidewalks made with paver bricks and were throwing those bashing up a lot of police vehicles but eventually were overwhelmed by police/military response.
  5. Amazing how members on this board call out commanders for favoritism given to shiny pennies or unequally enforced actions leading to lack of credibility and can't see those same issues applied to the federal government.
  6. We did all that deconfliction stuff in regard to artillery doing CAS in the Hawg. Then I ended up sentenced to be an ALO with an armor battalion. Watching a night live fire exercise and seeing the high altitude ricochets from 120mm main gun rounds, 30mm chain guns, TOW missiles, and God knows what else high speed metal, I came to the conclusion deconfliction was a nice idea but wishful thinking for those of us that operated in the weeds.
  7. I like the way you think but I was envisioning the flute being shoved from the opposite direction, feed the douchebag beans, and have him blow Mozarts Magic Flute out of his ass. Punishment with classical music appreciation and education all rolled into one.
  8. Wish I had my coloring book from RTU which showed the most effective areas to shoot a tank. In the face wasn't it. Also, a crowd pleasing fireball explosion isn't required. For example, a Marine M60-A3 main battle tank is slightly lost and in the wrong place at the wrong time during an exercise. A Hawg is called in on a target and shoots the M-60 with TP ammo and not HEI or API which will do far more damage. With the Target Practice ammo, the tank takes 5 hits. With just 5 hits from TP ammo, the tank is no longer capable of moving and it's no longer capable of using the main gun with the added bonus of the crew being incapacitated. The cannon is far more effective than the author admits. Back when we might have to go toe-to-toe with the Rooskies in the Fulda gap, we trained for enroute at 200-300 feet and IP to target at 100 feet using forward firing weapons only. If someone was dumb enough to load freefall weapons on your jet, that was going to be jettisoned before departing the IP. We did expect to take substantial losses but so did everybody else. Nobody is going to fly the same way as was done shwacking jihadis but will adjust tactics accordingly.
  9. I've heard there was an AA CA based at SFO that had so many DO NOT PAIR First Officers that the CA was asked to leave the base and fly elsewhere. In my 23 years at AA, the only thing I've come close to was a call out on reserve for a MD-80 trip. The CA was a former TWA guy and the FO was a former Reno CA and not happy about playing second fiddle. Verbal hostility erupted and the second leg of the trip and the CA booted the FO.
  10. Funny you should post that. Years ago, I'm at Carlos Murphys West in Tucson for a 4th of July soiree. I'm with another A-10 dude and somehow we end up taking to this liberal couple. When they find out we are Hawg drivers, the liberal chick says, "How can you gun down women and children." Well, if ever a softball question was tossed my way, that was it. Just like the movie quote, I replied "It's easy, you just don't lead them as much." The shocked looks on their faces was absolutely priceless. We also ended up drinking with a midget wrestler who was the regional distributor for Coors but that's another story.
  11. And that's the just the " women" but I'm not a biologist so I might be wrong.
  12. I don't think the 30mm API can be sold/given due to nuclear non-proliferation agreements and you aren't punching many holes in a T-80 with TP ammo. I'm not sure of the threat environment but flying the Hawg without SEAD assets would definitely not be something I would want to do. Knock the radar threats back and you might be able to put a workable plan together.
  13. Sitting reserve, I get called out for exactly that same thing but it was the FO that walked.
  14. A little input from Dos Gringos. https://youtu.be/P4Xhx2q_PcM
  15. Not sure if you need to identify as a biologist or not. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-10853121/Uterus-shaped-cereal-aims-normalise-conversations-periods.html
  16. I have always said that a good day is learning something new and I have never heard of an oologist. Interesting. So, does this mean that the question "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?" can have a corollary question, "Which came first, the omelet or the chef?"
  17. Bullshit. Unless you are a ornithologist, how would you know???
  18. An F-15 from Langley was flown to Maine to pick up a load of "lahbstahs." Lobsters are flown back to VA, cooked, and there was much rejoicing. Moving forward in time, the jet goes in for the big colonoscopy maintenance check, and, lo and behold, there is significant corrosion along the keel of the fuselage and the damage is fatal. After some sleuthing, the trail leads back to the lobster run. Turns out the lobsters were packed in frozen SEA water which melted and ran down through the jet. Scratch one Eagle off the books.
  19. For podcast listening: The Cold War: What We Saw https://billwhittle.com/tag/the-cold-war-what-we-saw/ He also did a podcast on the space program which is also great listening.
  20. With either job, you would get a pay raise just by moving out of CA.
  21. ClearedHot, you are obviously ignorant! You forgot Hunter Biden s business partners, the Chinese! Come on, man! Nothing like trying to get through the Great Internet Firewall of China while visiting that country to drive that point home.
  22. The further we get from 1984, the closer we get. With the recent history of government agencies involved in sketchy behavior with a noticable political bent, what could possibly go wrong?
  23. He has never had an original thought in his political life and parrots what he is told to say. Combine this with the obvious signs of senility and I'm guessing his awareness of the economic condition of the country is close to zero.
  24. Interesting numbers regarding conservative Twitter accounts. Can the minions at Twitter see what is coming? https://nypost.com/2022/04/27/its-about-time-to-crack-open-big-techs-black-boxes-which-suppress-conservatives/
