  1. Yeah, I want some dude "who just snapped" and attempted to kill someone in what can be a high stress occupation complete with the occasional personality conflict in a tight enclosed area. What could possibly go wrong?
  2. We were doing a lot of cargo only flights during the COVID debacle and the topic of cargo vs pax came up often. The general consensus was it doesn't suck. No pax and no flight attendants made for very peaceful and quiet flights.
  3. Years ago flying the Stupid-80 into LGA and I was following some corporate type on the Expressway arrival. Tower asks, "American 69, you have a corporate doofus way long turning final so don't turn final until you seem him." We pick him up and turn final with LGA standard min spacing. On short final we hear "CORPORATE DOOFUS, WHAT ARE YOU DOING??..... YOU CAN'T STOP ON THE RUNWAY!!!"...."American 69, go around" CA immediately goes heads down MAKING A PA while I employ single man rules for the go around. About the time I'm abeam the runway after flying the Expressway arrival again, the CA rejoins the conversation in the cockpit and asks, "Where are we?" I do not miss domestic flying.
  4. Did active duty then retired out of the reserves a long time ago and never missed it. I'm still in contact with the guys I shared some great flying and experiences with and It's fun swapping lies..I mean stories, with other airline pilots on long international flights about the interesting things we got to do. But definitely don't miss it.

For those that don't know, Glock has Blue Label deals for active and retired military. Ask your local Glock dealer or go on the Glock website to locate them. The deals are very, very good. I carry the Glock 43 and looking to switch to the 43x to get the additional rounds.
  6. Didnt know a felony conviction went in the plus column on getting hired https://www.dailywire.com/news/jetblue-wont-hire-the-unvaxxed-but-hired-violent-felon-to-fly-planes
  7. Another data point for the not so hot vs crazy chart. https://www.dailywire.com/news/woman-allegedly-torches-ex-boyfriends-home-after-other-woman-answers-phone-there-was-one-thing-she-didnt-know
  8. "If you had been where I told you to be and done what I told you to do, this kind of shit could be avoided!'
  9. I need to file this away for future reference as I might be able to partake in this in a couple decades. "Honey, hand me my walker and a stack of $20s, I'm going to go get a free steak!"
  10. Daughter had to be 70-80 years old. Do strip clubs have AARP discounts?
  11. A poll said @57% of Californians were not happy with the way their state was run and 100s of businesses and 1000s of people leaving the state for a better life but Newsom was 20 points up on his opponent. Just does not compute.
  12. Hey, Whatever it takes so Orange Man Bad doesn't hurt someone's feelings with mean Tweets.
  13. Was this on ESPN 8 "The Ocho."
  14. In general, I think the PA thing is not a good idea. However, back in the day when dinosaurs ruled the earth, I was instructing a student that was a F-4G EWO. Took him out on his first ride in the T-38 and he was pretty much flying with little input from me. He earned an Excellent on the ride which is unheard of. Took him out on his second ride with the same results. I would have soloed him. I did catch grief from my flight commander because he was worried about showing grade progression. I said, "You fly with him" and he did and after the flight told me he agreed with me. But that was very rare. Most students need as much air time as they can get because plans rarely go as expected. If the VR world introduces the unexpected, I might buy that. However, nothing simulates the no kidding "I could get killed" criteria as the real jet which makes for serious judgement judging criteria.
  15. RealClearPolitics.com is showing 47D - 53R in the Senate. They show their data from previous years along with errors in polling in previous years to come up with their prediction.
  16. We might be paying more for gas and groceries, our investments are cratering, and the southern border is a myth but at least we don't to put up with mean tweets. Well done.
  17. His wheel is turning but the hamster is dead.
  18. Didn't the Bond film "Diamonds are Forever" also feature a mobile pipe inspector/welder thing? Maybe the pipeline bomber is a Bond film fan.
  19. That's some serious localized Global Warming right there. SPF 50,000 required.
  20. I think as we get further from this COVID thing and politics take a backseat, the numbers related to injury from the vaccine will not be something the pharma folks will want to talk about.
  21. What about some other party that might benefit from the chaos? Say, the Chinese? Maybe an environmental group that wants some back to the basics Flintstones utopia.
  22. Paint schemes also include Air Cal, Reno, US Airways, etc.
  23. A week ago the rat bastiges at DFW vectored us in right behind a RJ. "You have a 30 knot overtake on the traffic in front of you, slow to final approach airspeed." "We are at final approach airspeed." "American 37 go around." Morons.
  24. Forgot to add that the 787 HUD is a convex piece of glass which creates a focal point so to see all the HUD symbology which is why you've got to get your eyeballs to the correct location.
  25. The HUD image in the 787 is projected from the ceiling onto the glass which had only two positions: up and stowed or down. You have to adjust the seat to get your eyeballs to the correct focal point. Not sure how that works for the vertically challenged on the low end benchmark but for the vertically challenged on the upper benchmark even with the rudder pedals all the way forward, my legs are scrunched up. It's only an issue when doing multiple engine out takeoffs/approaches in the sim and I don't get a break to stretch my legs.
