  1. In the addendum to the PDE AFI it states that all Capts with the exception of MC and DC will be required to attend in-res. However, senior raters have the ability to block underperforming officers from attending in-res SOS. The way I take that is that in-res will become more of a discriminator. Not going or doing correspondence will mean your senior rater actually blocked you from going in-res.
  2. Hence why the navy calls its navs NFOs. NFO: No Future Outside.
  3. Let me guess-hazing at cadet basic training involving sexual and religion harassment? Potentially involving recruited athletes? Most of their scandals involve at least one of those three elements.
  4. Answer to above question when I was in MX: Our purpose is to do whatever it takes to get jets ready and meet the flying schedule. Answer to above question in medical: Our purpose is to max out our PT scores and work really hard on rewriting our bullets for awards packages.
  5. The TFSC gave me a number to some office that was supposedly somewhere in AFMC A1. The number had a DSN prefix that belonged to Scott. I then emailed them back and explained that they sent me to the right office but in the wrong MAJCOM. TFSC rep didn't know that AFMC and AMC were not the same thing. I'm sure glad our AFPC dudes are knowledgable about such things.
  6. Gen Moseley was the one that was fired, Gen Fogleman was the one that quit.
  7. Now we know what that blinded folded monkey throwing darts for VSP approvals does on the side when AFPC doesn't need him: works in research for AF Times.
  8. The altitude chambers at WP are 50 years old and have been known to have smoke appear in them-have fun with that.
  9. A civilian must have made this list-no other way an AFMC base ties for first in anything.
  10. A piggyback to 11F's post-can't hide AFIT or other in-res degrees from the duty history either.
  11. Gen Wolfenbarger rode the "First class of women at USAFA" train all the way to the top of AFMC. Maybe she'll be the first shoe as CSAF. If all the other four stars are male pilots and one is a female shoe, which one is not like the others?
  12. I'm assuming this dude did an online diploma mill box-checking masters just because he thought he was supposed to. I don't regret my masters degree-but then again mine was an actual MBA program that qualified for commission as a 1st Lt vs. 2d Lt so I actually got something out of it other than a filled square. I checked the list; I deduced that someone I knew that got kicked out of an inital skills training course for cheating was one of the DNPs.
  13. Capt select list came out yesterday and there were a handful of non-selects-how do you get non-selected for a rank that is back to 100% unless a DNP PRF is submitted? What kind of offense is bad enough to warrant a DNP for Capt but not bad enough to get kicked out right away?
  14. There's always the chance that guy or gal had a zillion combat hours and deployments and never got the chance to stay at home and check boxes.
  15. I find it interesting the board wasn't pushed back a few months. In my little compcat the O4 and O5 board was moved from its traditional June date and combined with the O6 board in Sept so the boards would occur after a lot of the force mgmt movement.
  16. The army did a similar thing a few years ago with West Point grads-they were given career fields based on how much time they were willing to add to their initial ADSC.
  17. ''05s were eligible for the RIF until the latest PSDM came out that pushed it back into FY15.
  18. Just had my 4th SAPR training day in the last year due to the unluckiness of being at a training base, old base x2, and new base hit me on the way in. I also sat on a sexual assault Court martial at my old base. Can I file an unrestricted report because the AF has sexually assaulted me about sexual assault?
  19. I sat on a CM earlier this year-all medics and fliers. Commissioning source seemed to have more to do with attitude towards the accused than career field did.
  20. Probably a long term DNIF that no one wanted around the flying squadron. Kind of like how the 4Ns that get sent to the flying squadrons as the SMEs are the 4Ns that someone got tired of in the Mdg.
  21. That's exactly what the navy does-aviators, submariners, and surface ship drivers are all unrestricted line and intel, cyber, etc are restricted line.
  22. I read for ALS until I got to the following sentence somewhere in the first chapter: "The AF has a small and elite enlisted force. Most members of the AF are pilots." I decided that continuing to read would make me dumber.
  23. Couldn't help but notice both of those guys went to the zoo.
  24. You can always ask for a DAV code 65 (cc's choice) to duck a deployment. That happens all the time in my MDG.
  25. I don't doubt it-the second round in FY15 I believe was already mentioned by the SECAF as well. It makes sense-there are populations that were not vulnerable this time around that would be a year later. Now they need to RIF some civilians as well.
