  1. Mind if I ask how old you are? Either way, good luck with your future boards!
  2. Hi All, Hopefully this is different enough to warrant not being a side discussion in the "what's wrong with the AF" thread. Obviously there's a decent percentage of Majors punching out due to reasons that have been adequately covered, but I was curious how long it takes new studs/Lt's to become disillusioned and want to get out as well. There's probably a decent spread, but does it seem like most become fed up towards the last few years or is it trending towards less and less time in? Does it seem like more and more pilots are becoming fed up with the fuck fuck games/general fuckery during/around their first ops tour? UPT/first ops seems likes some of the best years, but I don't know. On a related note, and probably more applicable towards OTS studs as opposed to AFA/ROTC, but are most people coming in still starry eyed or do most have at least some semblance of the issues plaguing the AF (ref. "what's wrong with the AF" thread). Appreciate the insight!
  3. Found him.
  4. Heard through the grapevine:
  5. All boards, both Rated and Non-Rated, are currently suspended until further notice. The general consensus seems to be that boards will open up again sometime in FY 15 (sooner rather than later in the FY), but no one really knows for sure and it could take some time for the AF to 'figure things out'. I suggest you join us over at OTSportal.com (if you haven't already) while we all wait for an update to be announced (we have burgers and cold beer!).
  6. This. But to specifically answer your question, the Pilot composite score is comprised of the following sub-sections: Arithmetic Reasoning Math Knowledge Instrument Comprehension Table Reading Aviation Information Source Good luck.
  7. Saw this gem while browsing the AF recruiting facebook. You heard the lady, I don't know what you guys are bitching about.
  8. Breaking the news that matters.
  9. For some reason that link took me to your "perma-fat" album, lol. It's working now though.
  10. Yes, obviously Rated applicants will only be considered for Rated positions, but we're not saying the same thing. You said: This simply isn't true. An OTS Rated applicant can list only one AFSC that they wish to be considered for (and be considered for that only), list and rank all four, or any combination of specialties in between. If an applicant is dead set on being an ABM for example (or any of the other three), they can list only ABM and only be considered for that position. Likewise, if an applicant just wants to become a Rated Officer, they can list all four in whatever order they prefer and then be considered for all four positions. There is no requirement that Rated applicants rank and list all four AFSC's.
  11. This simply isn't true. While it's true that Non-Rated applicants list their top 5 choices but can be placed based on the needs of the AF, Rated applicants are only considered for the AFSC's that they list on their application. Once in a while the AF might offer a position (one that they didn't list) to a highly rack-and-stacked applicant that didn't make the cut-off for his/her first choice, but for the vast majority of Rated applicants, you are only considered for the position(s) that you list. Most recently, the 14OT02 board had a number of Pilot only applicants that were non-selects due to there being no pilot slots allotted for OTS applicants.

  13. By the looks of that grammar, capitalization, and punctuation she's enrolled full time in the first grade.
  14. Your mom "diagnosed" you with Dysthymia and told the original therapist who went along with it , or the original therapist diagnosed you with it?
  15. Was it Bacon-Jalapeno corn? EDIT: We need a popcorn bag smiley now.
  16. So did you get any new details?
  17. All boards after 14OT01 and 02, Rated and Non-Rated, have been officially suspended until further notice. If you mean the 01 (Non-Rated) board will only consider STEM degrees, that's correct. If you mean it will only consider applicants to fill engineering/scientist slots, I'm not to sure about that. The 02 Rated board is set to release in another week, and the rumor surrounding it is that they won't be picking up any Pilot or RPA slots for the rest of this fiscal year (OTS backlog of pilot selects), but we'll see if that pans out or not. Source: AFRS Press Release and countless hours over at AirForceOTS.com waiting on a suspended board.
