  1. Almost 50% of the guys that enter the portal end up not finding a team. I also don’t know why if someone enters the portal and secured their release from a university, you’d bring them back. Pretty obvious intention there.
  2. From my small corner of College Football (South Dakota State), it's interesting to see what's happening with a lot of top FCS talent. We don't really have any meaningful NIL to speak of, but have been able to keep really good players on the team mainly as a result of culture and proving we can put guys into the league. Current Packers rookie Tucker Kraft was offered high 6 figures to transfer to a couple SEC schools with CFB Playoff experience and he turned it down. This year's team has Current back Isaiah Davis got several offers (including to Washington) after last year and stayed. Current QB Mark Gronowski (1 of 3 finalists for Walter Payton award...FCS Heisman) similar situation. Twin brothers Jaxon and Jadon Janke same. The crazy part about all of that is while it's cool that these kids are proving how talented they are and the level of talent that SDSU has, there is absolutely nothing preventing boosters/NIL collectives reaching into other schools and poaching their players. If that was a coach, it's totally illegal. However, this is the new norm. It's really brutal for FCS teams in the playoffs because when the portal opens, if a kid jumps into it he leaves the team in the middle of a playoff run. Similar to bowl season, I suppose which also really sucks. I'm personally very torn on the whole thing because I think it's BS that schools like Florida could sell Tim Tebow's jerseys and such an make millions but he was personally limited to his scholarship stipend. However, I think it's pretty lame that a kid takes advantage of all the opportunities that a school affords him and just bails with no consequence. Last thing that I'm surprised hasn't happened yet is when a guy goes to a school with big NIL money and then transfers, the NIL collective comes after them legally to recoup their money. I know some Miami kids tried to renegotiate their NIL deals and got told to pound sand, but I haven't heard anything beyond that. Truly wild times.
  3. As of last night, there were 1,096 (625 FBS and 471 FCS) Division 1 players that entered the transfer portal. Wow.
  4. For the Track C T-38 course being a PCS now, I see in there it refers to being able to seek a waiver to make it a TDY that has to go up to SECAF I believe. Anyone seen any luck with getting that approved?

  6. Let me educate you with one of my favorite documentaries so you don’t keep embarrassing yourself.
  7. I know several guys that failed these personality tests for one of the majors and got hired by another one. Good system.
  8. I’ve definitely had to remind myself of the days on a roof/finding parts in a salvage yard while fighting off a raccoon that things can be MUCH worse.
  9. You’re a helo pilot. Every input you’ve ever made is batshit and an affront to aerodynamics.
  10. Definitely works great when your team is the #1 seed and absolutely dominating so far #runrabbits
  11. No. That’s a “we forgot to turn this off” type of thing.
  12. The thing with a lot of the divestment of classic jets like the Mighty Eagle, A-10, AWACS, etc isn’t a capability replacement as much as the jets are just old AF and aren’t holding together. When you have to write into your v3 to not put over 5 G’s on your 9 G jet (ref C model) unless absolutely necessary to preserve fleet health, that ain’t good.
  13. “Just doing their job”? Don’t recall my hundreds of combat sorties involving anything quite like the Kabul evacuation.
  14. So many stories beyond what is in the write up for that. I’m very proud to have been a member of that squadron back in the day.
  15. Bin Laden was pretty great but there’s this Austrian vegetarian artist that spoke up against Zionist oppression #standwithpalestine and stood for his people’s interests to spark a national socialist movement. I didn’t make it to the end of the tik tok to get his name because my Gen Z brain can’t focus on anything for more than 15 seconds, but this guy sounded pretty awesome. Cool moustache too. /s
  16. Any concern for ejection in non-approved boots?
  17. Just stay in, have the kid, take a year off, never be available when you come back, schedule kid appointments in the middle of the day, come off sorties constantly because “the baby had a rough night”, get sent to the wing after the article about being a fierce fighter pilot Queen that can do it all, get tagged for a deployment, immediately get pregnant again, repeat cycle.
  18. I was thinking the exact same thing for AFSOC.
  19. This type of thing absolutely needs to happen so we don’t fly the wings off of the F-35’s, B-21’s, and NGAD’s when we get involved in Afghanistan 2.0 in ten years. Won’t happen, but should.
  20. Looks like a T-1 only drop. And 4x U-28? Weird.
  21. I thought Seymour Hersh said we did it? And the Danes said the Russians did it? The Germans said Ukraine. The Russians said UK and US. That’s some serious international cooperation.
  22. @ClearedHot Excellent attention to detail lol.
  23. I think it usually is the opposite of that where they keep decent dudes around and send the turds off so they don't have to deal with them. I think that's why I was sent off instead of FAIP'ing.
