So am I reading this right - 2000 year guys are off the hook completely this year?

Why does anyone even expect this RIF/VSP/Nonsense to be any different this time around. I dropped by the front office today and it was business as usual. People are literally confused out of their minds about job security and the guys in the front don't even acknowledge what's going on....apparently those in charge with tenure and job security could really give two shits about what's happening, as is evident by the mass confusion. This is literally like having a mishap jet take the barrier, and calling the spouses and telling them their husbands are dead, to prep them just in case it really turns out to be true. Great relief when daddy comes home, but what the hell kind of process is this?!

Can't do all your living when your old is my motto.... Good luck taking that 1st class ski trip to the swiss alps when your 70, luckily i already went and just banked it on my credit card. The couple bucks interest is simply a future loan from my old self who has volunteered to sit at home and watch more TV since he can't ski anymore anyway. Lol but none will agree so enjoy!

Oh you haven't heard the rumint? Most shoe clerks think pilots just sit around at the squadron bar all week when they aren't flying. The new plan involves having all the rated folks have 'real' jobs instead of additional duties. Instead of voting officer and scheduling, you will be a finance officer and a mission support guru 4 days out of the week. Those ice cream cones won't lick themselves people - get to it! Dumb question: If you are on the bonus, can you apply for VSP? My gut says no, but then again that sounds like a rip off because i'm betting they still look at you for the RIF?...ideas?

*facepalm* .....let me guess...his technique for getting out of debt is for poor people to somehow save up a thousand bucks on their 1200 a month income? Then pay everything off....awesome innovative thinking. This guy is a genius. Now where can I sign up for his workshop, buy his books, pay for his mentoring coach dvd, or similar activities....I also need to go visit a mega church soon and donate my money to their preachers driver... Let me give you real advice. Life in your means, get that figured out asap. Don't go out to eat...anymore....at all....stop spending money. No more target, walmart, mcdonalds, chills, starbucks, guns, bullets, steaks, shrimp, oil changes, six flags..nothing. Get your house in order, and then do what you want.

Two questions which I've been presented with regards to a similar venture: #1) How did you get the rights to use the formulas/reverse engineered charts/etc from lockheed? Boeing for example says they own the 'math' that makes up the -1-1 for their aircraft. If you use their data without paying, they reserve the right to sue... #2) How do you deal with the massive liability?

Why are we wasting time on hypotheticals so far removed from the present...IF you get picked up at the unit, IF you pass UPT in the top half, IF you pass IFF, IF you pass RTU, IF you don't get killed, IF you pass your pt test...blah blah blah, then 5 years down the road you might want to gladly help the air force out and go to TPS. PT tests have become the new 'nuke' world - 100% is the only standard, you either pass or fail, but there is no forgiveness for making a mistake. Don't dare get sick/hurt/lose focus.

Is any other command out there doing this wacky new PRF process where you have to go in sequential order??...I don't remember this for couple years ago, but now it's the norm? The individual lines in the PRF have to be grouped together logically by year group: #1/400 copilots[2005]; Lead IP for RF [2010];lauded by [2012] - this would be kicked back Also, reading top to bottom, it has to go in order now they say? It looks retarded - I was always taught to put the best info at the top and bottom line, but now they have that line filled up with UPT awards and crap as a LT.....?

So if my new raging liberal political group that endorses fire-bombing abortion clinic adopts the USAF symbol as my defacto flag, is the USAF going to remove it from it's own property so as not to appear to endorse me? All i remember is that all the tools who spent all their time at ROTC sucking up had a hard time keeping up their grades. I did what I had to in ROTC and nothing more, studied my ASS off to get higher grades than the rest and stuck to my technical degree while the rest all switched majors to basket weaving. Had no problem getting scholarship, pilot slot etc based on grades/major alone. Some dudes tend to forget the whole grades thing..and getting a 3.0 is not cutting it...3.8+ is where i would want to be any day of the week in this climate.

Hmmm...get out, or stick around for the inevitable O-6 promotion because everyone ELSE got out...decisions decisions. Course it'll be so empty by then i'll be bossing MYSELF around on a 365 to INSERTFOREIGNCOUNTRYWEHATETHISMONTHHERE

I understand the first two fake push statements, but this one? What exactly is the veiled attempt at derogatory information? On another note - You know what was refreshing? Working with Marines - they write what the real deal is...this LT has below average leadership skills, this LT is my last choice to go into combat..etc etc. Different world I guess when the rating blocks include 'honor' and 'courage' vs our box checking...oh well.
