To answer the OP's question about combat edge mask's.. There is actually a device built into the mask that allows you to valsalva without holding your nose. The circular disk on the opposite side of the hose is actually a valve that you can press down (towards your face) and will shut off the exhale valve, thus causing the mask to build up pressure and allow you to equalize without holding your nose. But i bet 90% of peeps don't even know it can do that, because most people just wiggle their jaw or somesuch thing.. :) cheers!

RRF metrics / "retain" vs "definetly retain"?
theat6bisasham replied to theat6bisasham's topic in General Discussion
Typical...our WG/CC did not have the balls to explain anything and let us all walk away thinking we were "middle of the road"... Confusing part, all the field graders in my year group got the same "retain"....ACSC done...masters...strats...everything....but all the captains seem to have gotten DR's....me smells a plan to boost other peoples standing at our expense. -
Anyone know what the spread was on "Definetly Retain" / "Retain" / "Do Not Retain"? I'm starting to hear that as many as 80% of RRF's got "DF's" and the top-of-the-bottom of the barrel is "retain"....any insights out there? I.e. - do dudes with "retain" need to be worried?

Hey, i was currious also...so i looked up the regulation. In the navy/marines it says to tuck the "ribbon" under the collar of the dress uniform. It looks strange, but if you look close that is what he is doing. I think we just dont see alot of navy brothers with the MOH to have seen it before. 1. Medal of Honor. On the officer's evening dress and all other dress "A" uniforms, the Medal of Honor will be worn around the neck with the ribbon under the coat or jacket collar. The medallion will emerge at the opening between the collar hook and the top button of the coat or jacket, and hang 1 inch below the bottom edge of the collar. On the SNCO evening dress uniform, the Medal of Honor will be worn around the neck with the ribbon under the jacket collar. The medallion will hang 1 inch below the men's bow tie.

No reason to fight this on tech - just do this. #1 submit the fine #2 go to court #3 say you are not guilty because it wasn't you driving #4 when they ask who was driving, tell them you don't know as you left your keys in the car and told a group of friends[neighbors/family/squadron..etc] they could use it whenever they pleased #5 if asked who these people were, tell them you don't know - you've told so many people they could use it, it's beyond your ability to recall. Hand them a squadron recall roster and say "any of these dudes". #6 if they still convict, appeal it - you'll probably win the appeal easier

theat6bisasham replied to Steve Davies's topic in General Discussion

theat6bisasham replied to Steve Davies's topic in General Discussion
Don't forget - if you didn't punish this guy hard (sts) then what stops the rest of the faips with maybe not as much skill from plowing into the stadium....? He got what he wanted....he knew it.....you get what you deserve in life. -

theat6bisasham replied to Steve Davies's topic in General Discussion
16 feet above the press box? Glad he got canned. I can't believe we FINALLY did something that is akin to punishment. That guy was the next Bud Holland.....big difference between "guys lets dip a little lower than usuall"....and "lets go down and try and hit the stadium while off altitude nine-hundred-and-eighty-four feet".. Flame away - but it's true....he was going to get someone killed - plus if he was legit, he would have just fessed up - but the reports say he LIED to the investigators. Clear cut BS on his part. Should have came home, gone to the boss and said "I F'd up boss" and taken his punishment. It's his own fault now what happened... -
Two USAF Airmen soldiers shot dead at Frankfurt airport
theat6bisasham replied to ClearedHot's topic in General Discussion
Are you retarded? These guys were not on leave you idiot, they were ON DUTY. Give me a fricken break....saying they need to blend in better. How about instead of making us cower our heads on duty, we should be tougher on terrorists....typical PC response..get tough on the victims......you really hit the moron button on this one. -
FYI - another great place that can do miracles with eyes and double vision is University of Miami Eye Clinic. Take a guy from DQ for double vision to 100% in a similar 30 min operation and couple weeks recovery. never trust .mil doctors...get with a specialist who charges alot of money..they usually charge alot because they are WORTH alot :)

Funding a Private Pilots License (PPL)
theat6bisasham replied to Wits End's topic in General Discussion
Yea, other than working for the money - you could just do what alot of us did, including me. Let someone else pay for it in exchange for work - i.e. sign a 10 year commitment to big blue and let them pay for it. I never bought a single hour. lol -
I was an IP at vance from 2005-2010 - all students fill the dorms on base until they are at some magic number...90-95% occupancy rate. Then you get a letter that lets you off-base. Doesn't matter what color your uniform is. But don't worry, most of your buds will want to be in the dorm anyway. It has never been a problem to go off base.

I was a Whiting guy in 2000....and I have been a tweet & texan IP at Vance..so I have seen this from both sides. Lets just say that Barksdale is a serious whiting reunion when you stroll through the RTU & the SQ's... Is it easy to get T-38s at whiting? Probably easier than at the other bases, but I truly believe that I personally would have never gotten a T-38 in the first place if I had started in the USAF program. So did I get a T-38? Yea...but then I was the bottom of the barrel at Vance...just couldn't catch up. I graduated comodores list with a 60 NSS even, but Vance IP's ate my cake(sts) from day one..and even seemed like they wanted me at the bottom. I got a 60 NSS in the navy because it was at my own pace and I could prepare as much as it took to ace every single sim/test or flight. When I got to vance that mentality was replaced by the USAF mentality of HURRY THE ###### UP and cram this shit down your throat...and I don't care if you really know it, I want you to memorize these random tire PSI's and crap. And that my friends is the real difference between us and them. Hell even as a Texan IP I used to ask ridiculous crap of my students because it was the "norm", but who really gives a crap what the tire load is, or any other number of BS. And why do we think that the "firehose" is efective training? Oh, it's because it happened to us, and we made it through, so it must be good. I still think I was twice the pilot at whiting because I could take my time and do it RIGHT versus just BSing my way through a cram session one night after a 12 hour flightroom day. And whiting guys make more FAIP's because whiting guys are usually towards the bottom of the class. It's a fact that fighters come first, then FAIPs, then Bombers, then UAVs..etc. Being a FAIP means you got a hail mary second chance to try and get that fighter again..it's not really that bad a deal.

Coasties attend flight school with the navy. I had some in my class at pensacola/ whiting. No, there is no way to "apply" for flight training in a service you are not part of except when applying under a commisionsing program such as OTS..but even then it's not really that straightforward. You're screwed.

Don't forget that the USAF's mission isn't centered around flying helo's and ferrying beans for the army. Lets get back to talking about putting bombs on target :) Eh? lol

I fly the Buff.. Small elevator at the back of the stab. Yoke controls elevator. Trim controls the position of the stab - 9 units NoseDown to 4 units NoseUp - so marks are not equal both directions This means trim does not displace the yoke. High performance aircraft with huge margin between stall speed and top speed requires this design. But also this means your trim requirements are very imporant, because the elevator does not have nearly enough authority to control the aircraft if you are not trimed correctly.

My bro flies vipers....when they go to Korea they wear their party suits when they do their elbow-point on fridays or whatever day they have over there. I know they put their polyester party suits in their closets when they get back to the states because they look ridiculous. His collar was '70's to the extreme!!!!

ADP (Airman Development Plan)
theat6bisasham replied to theat6bisasham's topic in General Discussion
I put down F-22, then eurofighter, then space shuttle. Also I would like to command the 1st FS, then 2nd FS in that order. If not, I would like to command NASA. As far as school? I put down University of Florida and scratched out maxwell. -
Anyone know anything about this AFPC robot email saying to update your ADP's for the April CAF DT (or something CAF) board? Something about making sure to update it so they don't vector you into something you don't want.. what the heck is this about?

By the way, this isn't King George's army... If you don't like the blues policy, do like me and do your best to voice your oppinion and defy it the best you can. If everyone plays "good" and just agrees with idiodic policies, then they will never change. Someone has to look them in the ey and tell them "hell no!".
