I built a 6.8 with White Oak parts. It's been reliable and accurate, but I can't speak to its lethality yet as the deer seem to avoid me when I have it with me. Kotonics went out of business a while ago. They had a problem where the chrome lining in some of their barrels was too thick and was causing overpressure. They did their best to fix it, but went bankrupt trying to make things right. $825 isn't a bad price. If you get it and find pressure signs, worst case scenario you could rebarrel it with something from this guy and be good to go. https://www.ar15performance.com/6_8_arp
  2. Anyone know if this is legit? https://u28heroes.com/
  3. Short answer: I'd get my resume in order and cut expenses.

    Tax info

This was mentioned in past tax threads, but Taxslayer is free for mil and isn't limited to the 1040EZ. For those of us without rental properties and all that, it's pretty slick.
  5. Pretty damn cool. I wonder if that would go differently in places with "no refusal" laws or court precedent.

I've got a Zanotti and I like it a lot. I bought it expressly for ease of moving and because I don't know the floor plan of my next houses. I don't want to get a safe that works in this house and next time I have to leave it in the garage. Assembly took two guys, but was easy overall. Make sure you ask for their military discount. As always, buy bigger than you think you'll need - you'll magically fill it up.
  7. Doesn't matter. A marries B and both adopt C. A true modern family.
  8. Probably a lot more because the surgeon wouldn't be slicing and dicing pro bono. The hospital said it is financing all the traveling costs and accommodation for McKinnon, who is performing the surgery free of charge.
  9. And just in case you need more info, https://lmgtfy.com/?q=do+a+barrel+roll
  10. So if you retired right at 15 years (180 months), then you'd get 35% pay? Doesn't sound altogether like a bad deal, especially if the healthcare is unchanged. You can get out at ~37 instead of ~42, and might be more marketable. And for those going to the airlines, that's 5 more years of seniority.
  11. Literature? No, but I'm a Whiting IP and we've had multiple NFOs come through as students in the last year.
  12. You can go NFO to pilot.
  13. So if she outweighs you by 200 and is a foot taller, it's cool? Sounds legit. https://www.heatherhaven.com/welcome.htm
  14. Hosed? Not so much. The courts don't even consistently prosecute MOH phoneys. They're just gonna laugh this one out the door.
  15. Yes and no. They're loggable because you can put whatever you want in your logbook. I would put them in mine. However, they're only usable towards a private certificate if you have all the right endorsements/signatures from the CFI that gave you the training. Since you don't have that, you're kinda SOL as I doubt they're gonna do the legwork for you to get that.
  16. Can't say I'm shocked. We'd get more use out of a light attack aircraft than we ever will get out of the -22 or-35, but the program will never see the light of day as long as Congress doesn't see the benefit. https://www.avweb.com...tml?CMP=OTC-RSS
  17. Big Blue could definitely learn a thing or two from the Navy about VFR ops. They might even start stocking these crazy things called "sectionals" in the pubs room.
  18. Officer notified of results: Nov 11 Date of Separation: 1 Feb 12
  19. So they could just give up, or... they could live in Gulf Breeze and each drive a little bit, even if it is early. That's probably a better option than telling the guy to live WEST of the base. Just sayin.
  20. Oh we'll make the timeline, even if we have to fly every weekend to do it.
  21. Yes.
  22. Ironically, from a post by Mr. Lumbergh.
  23. You're mom failed 1st grade spelling. No, really. She did.
  24. The reverse flow design certainly helps.
