  1. anyone have any experience riding/racing in Colorado? I'm moving back to the US and really want to get back to racing, just trying to decide whether to go back to dirt, supermoto, or road racing, I only get to pick one this time around (damn kids are expensive) but it seems like CO has a bit of everything.
  2. My wife and I no major issues with our house. It was no palace, but we were fine for 15 months. I don't remember having any big issues with mold. Worst problem we had was ants, but a couple visits from the exterminator took care of that.
  3. Anyone here at the 50th right now? I may be headed there shortly with some slightly abnormal circumstances, looking for some info.
  4. Ibleedteal13....AKA Devon Adair Kearn, calls herself a "classy bitch." This one is a keeper folks. Good thing she put her full name on instagram and left it public. This won't haunt her in any way.
  5. careful, first it's trackdays, then you decide to try just one race weekend...its downhill from there.
  6. Duplexes don't have a washer or dryer, you supply em, and you'll need furniture,so it can get costly; the dorms are easier but I lived in a duplex and the money spent on appliances and furniture was worth it. You'll also need to find a roommate within one class of yours, if you dont show up at housing with a roommate, you'll be put in a dorm, they won't spend their time finding you a roommate.
  7. Didn't wear a reflective belt the entire time I was there last year, not a word was said to me. Also had a stache that was pretty far out of regs that garnered me plenty of dirty looks, but nothing actually said to me.
  8. Yet I've seen more than a few go back for more...they must just enjoy it.
  9. Let your flt/cc know early, they can help, but still expect the worst. I graduated on a Friday and was gone on Sunday to water survival. Several classmates were similarly scheduled and had weddings or other major life events planned and had to reschedule them.
  10. 3 Grandfather was an FE on B-29s, great Uncle was a bombardier on B-17s, shot down over France Dad was U-2s mostly Herks for me
  11. Depends on your class, when I was there a number of Flt/CCs enforced a "del rio" CAP, and students stayed local. My class did that for about 2 months.
  12. an 88 for pubs? Thats a ground eval 88 if anything. Check flight doesn't build the schedule so it sounds like upper leadership feels they have plenty of time for 88/89 rides.
  13. you'd be wagering a lot on pure luck concerning timing. When I was there students lived on base, period. I left 10 months ago, might have changed, but if there is room on base in housing, plan on living in housing. The policy changed at least twice while I was there just based on how much room they had.
  14. Do you give autographs?
  15. You can always go the "lab-mix" route, saw this pups twin on base yesterday...pretty sure no one from housing saw the actual dog! Not really sure how no one has freaked out yet.
  16. depressing, and true. The only other option Dan Snyder is capable of imagining is trading away every draft pick for the next 3 years to get the Rams #2 pick and Robert Griffin. Either way the team and fans are ######ed.
  17. That sucks, lot of good IPs there, but he was among the best.
  18. Take this hostage...you'll know when you get there
  19. the DOSS aircraft have the panels swapped, you'll sit on the right, with the instruments in front of you I had 85 hours in the left seat of a DA-20 before i attended IFS...it took about 10 minutes to get used to flying from the other side. Flying the DA20 would be pretty helpful, IMO seat doesn't matter
  20. intense and impressive, great show
  21. for those who are racers or follow racing Marco Simoncelli was killed shortly after the start of the Sepang GP...low sided in front of Rossi and Edwards, both hit him square on, impact was so bad his helmet was torn off. I saw a young rider hit and killed on the racetrack when i was still racing, and this crash was far worse. RIP 58
  22. Depends a lot on configuration? Clean? Two wing bags? Centerline? Wings and centerline? Loaded with stuff on the other hardpoints? Very hard to say without a lot of assumptions about configurations. Loiter time varies with load and distance to-from base, but maybe 45 minutes at 200NM from base with a nominal load.. However, basic ferry range for the F-4E would be about 1000 NM. with internal and wing tanks only...maybe 1200 miles with a centerline tank added.
  23. hangered at JYO?
