FIFY. That'll be a round please. BTW, I hope you at least spat on the floor after you typed that.

They wore them in Desert Storm and at the kick off of OIF.

400s aren't FBW. The new -8s have some FBW controls. See Huey's explanation of modern trim systems above. This.

Chutes came off the jet years ago to save weight.  to the crew....NKAWTG! I'm getting really sick of reading about mishaps lately.

In Soviet Russia, coffin not need no stinking hearse.

Not saying it's impossible, but there are multiple, independent systems on the 74 that would have to break for runaway trim to be the factor.

GEN Odierno's Exchange w/Congressman Hunter

Agree that the military should and will always be subservient to civilian leadership. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that our highest ranking officers should automatically bend to the will of politicians. For instance, they should be insisting on BRACing superfluous bases regardless of who's district they're in. I admit, I don't know shit about DCGS-A, and Brick, you seem to, so I'll take your word that it was handled badly. I don't think that the general's tone was de-facto inappropriate however. -

Looked to me like a military leader standing up to a politician. Couldn't we use more of that right now? -
Thanks for posting. Regardless of the cause of this accident and despite some recent advances, rest rules in the 121 world still have a long way to go. Particularly when it comes to moving cargo.

There are a few airlines where you're guaranteed a 74 right out of the gate. United and Delta are not amongst them. Contracts ARE improving across the board however, and I don't think 97K for second year pay will be all that uncommon. Hell, even at the ACMI I work for, it's pretty much right there. There WILL be good paying jobs out there for the guys who are willing to go get them. Big Blue had better be doing their homework on this. FWIW, I think there is a good chance they have a somewhat realistic outlook and are expecting to drawdown in the coming years with the help of the hiring boom.

Fucking cowards did this. No excuse on this earth for planting bombs underneath kids/civilians. I hope the people who did this understand that they will get what's due them.

Dude, I had to look at that for about a minute before I saw her. Fucking funny.

WG/CC fired for failing PT waist measurement
Prozac replied to BONE WSO's topic in General Discussion
I know Col Bush from a prior assignment. Good all around guy and an excellent leader despite his low hours. I have mixed feelings about this thing. On the one hand, the AF has set the standard and is enforcing it regardless of rank. This is not always the case, so it's good to see the service be fair for a change. Problem is, it's just plain stupid policy. Col Bush is one more of those guys who you'd really like to see move up the chain and is now gone, leaving a hole that is ripe too be filled by some douchebag who couldn't lead a priest to a cub scout meeting. Hopefully this will wake some senior leaders up to the fact that they are loosing competent airmen to an arbitrary measurement that has nothing to do with job performance. It really is cutting off your nose to spite your face. -
All the birds are dead in my yard....save for a couple that will be eaten on Tuesday.

That's fucked up right there.

Not for the crew I referred to. Not sure if the original post in this thread was just a copy of the draft citation or if it's actually been approved. Certainly a worrying precedent if it has been.

The A-10 Thunderbolt II is an outdated platform that cannot be replaced soon enough by the F-35.

Don't forget about the five good com radios. Saw the exact same thing happen with a tanker recovering on the wing of a C-17 (gear down) several years back. DFC citation was written up by the EARS and immediately shot down by AFCENT. Surprised this made it through the wickets.

I have been drinking heavily and this is definitely funny. # 27: Also funny.

I can personally attest that this is true. I usually brief this before a TDY along with banning the use of cameras or recording devices of any kind.

Saw this this morning and it pissed me off to no end. Aside from the fact that it's highly debatable whether or not a 6 year old should be having gender identification issues, I just want to puke when I see the parents parading the poor child around on a TV news show and discuss issues right in front of him/her that the kid cannot possibly comprehend. Then the anchor insensitively asked if the child missed his/her friends at school, basically pouring salt in the wound. I feel genuinely bad for the poor kid. The parents should be ashamed.

I say good on him if he went off the grid. Still, might be nice if someone who knows the man would post on here that he's alive and kckin' so Spur can start sleeping again.

Goddamnit Herk. Can't post about that shit on an open source man! BTW, I thought us tanker guys had the market cornered on the whole chemtrail thing. Now they've got the Wackers modded to spray too? Shit must be getting serious. The end is near boys!
