This, and more...... seems to me to be a preponderance of non mil "c"aptains that love to show me pics of all the material assets they own as well as all the money they're forking out to fund junior's college experience. Yawn. No idea that the guy in the other seat had to fund his own way to higher education, enlistment, endless deployments, etc. Maybe I was raised with a different outlook on fiscal responsibilities but it does get old.....
Couldn't agree more. What a difference between layovers in othe(R) cities vs say PDX, SFO, DEN, MSP, NYC, etc. Amazing how 16th St in Denver has gone downhill from a decade ago.
Uh, sir, those were "peaceful" protests......or so that's what the response was when checking into the hotel for a Portland layover and asking the agent if there were still any riots ongoing lol
Another thought on all this is how media portrays all these events i.e. "in your face" all day long. Compare that (as far as MSM coverage) w/ last nights Blackhawk crash x 2 that's killed more individuals than Nashville....
True, but then you start right back where you started on the seniority list where the QOL is minimal. Pay may be 40-50k more per year BUT that's based on working the full schedule per month (which I don't/won't do). Ultimately the 70/20/10 rule applies anyway....70% of folks are a pleasure to fly with, 20% are 50/50, and 10% are on the avoid list!! And when you only plan to do this job for a few more years anyway and retire in the mid-50's to enjoy life....what's the point!!
Hmmm….paid sick leave, free non rev travel, 4 weeks paid vacation, an extra paycheck each month, if I want to make more money to buy that boat/airplane I have the OPTION to do so, company pays 16% into 401k. Anything else I missed?
