  1. My beloved Casio World Time (circa 1995) finally gave up and I can't find anything similar. Any recommendations? Features: Main page - GMT with GMT date and day displayed World time page (24+ zones) - Local time, date and day displayed All digital, no hands 5 alarms stopwatch, timer , etc Low profile i.e. not huge on wrist It was the best travel watch I've ever seen and cost $25; only thing it lacked was a light. Anything similar out there?
  2. Greek Isles (Mykonos) Crete (Souda) or Cyprus... Space A to the last two. Hot naked Euro babes throwing all inhibition to the wind, ouzo, no American prima donna chicks...
  3. You want to take pills? The last thing i want to take is a go-pill or an Ambien. Mark my words, 10 years from now they'll announce the sh!t gives you brain cancer, etc. Pill dosing is an easy out for the USAF. Put more pilots on long haul flights, give them more crewrest, those are the answers--not pills. If your schedule requires me to take drugs to fly it, then you can count on me to call safety of flight or land short. Don't have enough pilots to make it happen? Not my problem, hire/retain more.
  4. Safety of Flight is the easiest card you have in your hand as long as you are being honest, and do not cave no matter how much pressure is brought. I've called it a couple of times in AMC and while TACC went apeshit, my local OG had my back. TACC wants to make it more of an asspain for you to "stop" a mission than it is to "go", so don't play their game. When you call them and declare safety of flight they will want you to "call back to your OG before declaring". Don't bite. Tell them you are arranging Billeting for your crew, and will give a contact number once in Billeting. They will want all the details immediately. Details can wait, you need to get you crew to bed. If they continue to badger, get them to explain, on a recorded line, what they are asking you to do i.e. "So what you are saying is you want me to fly exhausted after I just told you how unsafe I believe it would be?" That usually gets them backpedalling and they capitulate. Another tactic is they will ask "Who is your Ops Group Commander? Because he will have to be notified." I've never bit at this, but if it happened again, and I was sufficiently pissed, I would ask who HIS supervisor was because HE was going to be notified of a crew being harassed over safety. I've never heard of a pilot being disciplined for calling safety of flight, but there seems to be some fear of doing it (perhaps the TACC inquisition routine). As long as it is legit, call it, and never back down. In an ideal world TACC should say "Thank you for making the safe decision, let's work on getting your crew some rest".
  5. The Public Affairs Officer is named "Bunko"...coincidence or conspiracy theory gold? Noun 1. bunko - a swindle in which you cheat at gambling or persuade a person to buy worthless property bunco, bunco game, bunko game, con game, confidence game, confidence trick, flimflam, gyp, hustle, con, sting sting operation - a complicated confidence game planned and executed with great care (especially an operation implemented by undercover agents to apprehend criminals) swindle, cheat, rig - the act of swindling by some fraudulent scheme; "that book is a fraud"
  6. DP = Double Penetration....I hope that helps
  7. The Simplest Tool?
  8. Benicia does not = single haven. It has one non-biker bar and is pretty much dead at night. Family friendly yes, babe central..no. Big house + garage does not = SF. Rent or stay on base for 6 months while exploring the area, then decide where is right for you.
  9. "Single" + "Fun" = San Francisco. If you are pilot and don't have to come to work everyday it's doable. As a LT you would probably need 2-3 roomates to swing the rent. You will not a have a better experience anywhere in the AF. Professionals only.
  10. And a married Capt costs more than a single Capt--so can marriage status be a discriminator? How does this local area req't play out? Example: Pilot X is a current/qualified F-16 pilot coming off active duty living on the East Coast (with airline job). A West Coast unit wants to hire him. Do they say "You're hired once you establish an address out here" Or do they hire him and tell he has to move within x months? What if he moves and then 6 months later moves back to the East Coast--is he fired? I'm not a lawyer, but I don't think the USAFR can tell you where to live in a TR status. If you are on AD orders for an extended period, I believe the situation is different. From www.afreserve.com FAQ's: Will I have to move to serve at a specific base? The AF Reserve does not require you to move. You will be assigned to a Reserve Unitthat you choose. If for personal reasons you need to move at a later date, you can transfer to another Reserve Unit.
  11. Copied from www.HRworld.com. "30 Interview questions you cannot ask" What you can't ask: How far is your commute? Although hiring employees who live close by may be convenient, you can't choose candidates based on their location. Find out about their availability instead. What to ask instead: Are you able to start work at 8 a.m.? What you can't ask: Do you live nearby? If your candidate lives outside of the city your company is hiring in, it may be necessary to have them move to your area. But again, you can't discriminate based on location. Rather, find out if the applicant is willing to move closer to the office. What to ask instead: Are you willing to relocate? If someone is not hired by a unit, they have nothing to lose by suing for discrimination (dick move, however). Units would be wise to avoid sticky legal situations by not making relocation a requirement/condition of employment. Run it by the JAG.
  12. Is that legal? As a condition of employment?
  13. I assumed all three would be "married" together--didn't they just change the definition of "marriage" away from "one" man to "one" woman to any combination in any number? or am I just fast forwarding to the future?
  14. Declare yourselves to be Homos. Then declare that you are a "family" and not "roommates". Make her prove that you are not. Counter sue for homo discrimination. Case closed. PS; Don't forget to fly the rainbow flag out front
  15. While they're at it they should require all 18 year old females to register for the draft just like the guys. It's funny that in all the feminist arguements about women in fighter cockpits and other plum assignments, they never argue for the 18 year females to register just like the men have to.
  16. WARNING!?? I seem to remember if you invoke the 24hr rule, then break (standard ops for C-5 crews) and go past 24 hours, you are SOL and Finance will not reimburse you for the off base stay. Am I correct?
